I'd be fascinated to know how much you get paid per viewer per month on average from YouTube. I'd bet it's not very much. I love the idea of having a "Peertube subscription" where basically I could subscribe via Librapay or similar for twice the YouTube amount to know that I was both supporting you, the use of Peertube, but also making Peertube the MORE profitable platform for you, per viewer.
Kind of missed the release of the Peertube app on AppStore. Just checked it, the thing starts quiet solidly:
default local account that allows to manage "Watch later" and History lists offline;
defaults to official instance / content indices;
instance / search indices can be set in settings;
runs on older iOS version (at least version 15.8.4, which my perfectly intact, still sufficient hardware will never be able to update or switched from);
That said, some cons are:
it's complicated to search for an instance and/or channel outside of chosen index; there's no search by URL or federated handle, so to find a channel not on selected index, one must specify instance URL in settings for search index, scroll the main page down until any channel from the instance is found, click on it, click big plaque that finally leads to instance' view. This is a lot more convoluted than if just searching by URL could give a desired result;
to log into account, one must find the instance their existing account resides on, see the point above;
can't create custom playlists with local account;
no audio-only mode and no playback when screen is locked / app is minimized (there might be situations when one might want to consume a video content as audio-only);
no video quality setting (mobile trafic can get expensive like that);
All things considered, solid application for it's solid purpose at its's current maturity level, just needs more time, attention, and funding — which Framasoft speak clearly about.
I wonder if it'll be a lot easier for MATE, Xfce, Cinnamon, etc. to switch to #Wayland after GNOME & KDE have already done so. Perhaps some of the heavy lifting has already been done?

Atlanta, GA – 58-year-old Filipina activist Alma Bowman was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after a check-in at the Atlanta facility. Separated from lawyers and her family at the start of the check-in, abused by staff in the ICE office, and detained without medication, Bowman is yet another instance of deportation being used as a tool to repress immigrants.
Bowman was originally detained by ICE for three years at the infamous Irwin County Detention Center. She later blew the whistle on forced hysterectomies at the detention center, resulting in it being shut down.
Julie Jamora, an organizer with Malaya and the Justice for Alma Bowman (J4AB) campaign said, “She witnessed and experienced grave human rights violations while detained at the Irwin County detention center. Witnessed migrant women getting unnecessary and forced gynecological procedures, was at the center of a congressional investigation against this doctor. She highlights the everyday inhuman experiences of migrants while in detention.”
While she was released from ICE detention in 2020, Bowman continued to be a victim of the racist immigration system. She was forced to have check-ins with ICE, requiring her to drive nearly two hours from her home in Macon, Georgia on a regular basis. Despite being out of custody, Bowman was constantly terrorized by ICE, oftentimes not sure if she would be separated from her children.
Bowman’s detention is the latest in a series of ICE detentions and deportations used to target politically active immigrants and migrants, like what we’ve seen with pro-Palestine student protesters such as Mahmoud Khalil at Columbia University and Badar Khan Suri at Georgetown University. Both were labeled as political threats and targeted by the White House, showing that reactionary forces will employ any means to attempt to silence our movements.
