Trying to find a nice email client for Mac OS. So far, chanced upon Edison Mail, which looked nice until, digging about, I realise the company harvests email and sells it ("anonymously", of course). Yikes.

There is no alternate version of Israel where these things are not happening. The liberal Zionist vision of a two-state solution and a just and peaceful Israel exists solely in the imaginations of the people who envision it. Nothing like it has ever existed. Everything about the modern state of Israel is unyieldingly hostile to that vision.
You either support the existence of the Israel you see before you, or you support the end of the apartheid Zionist entity. There is no hidden third option. There are no other positions on the menu. To pretend otherwise is to live in a fantasy land.

And if you donβt, you must oppose the state of Israel. Thatβs Israel, the state. Not just Netanyahu. Not just extremist settlers. Not just βfar right elements within the Israeli governmentβ. Israel itself. Because everything we are seeing Israel do is the result of everything Israel is as a state.
Everything Israel is doing is the result of everything it has always been. As soon as the west decided to drop a settler-colonialist state on top of a pre-existing civilization wherein the new immigrants would receive preferential treatment over the indigenous inhabitants who were already living there, it became inevitable that Israel would wind up in the condition itβs in today.
Because there was no way to uphold that status quo without mass displacement and nonstop tyranny, violence and abuse. There was no way to set up a tiered society where one tier is placed above the other without indoctrinating the public to accept that apartheid system by systematically dehumanizing the members of the disempowered group.
Set up a status quo of dehumanizing a group of people and manufacturing consent for violence and abuse against them, and you will inevitably wind up with a far right #apartheid state which is committing #genocide, as surely as dropping a stone off a building will result in a stone falling to the ground.
What we are seeing in #Gaza today was baked into the state of Israel ever since its inception.

Support for Israel depends on mass-scale psychological compartmentalization. Everything about it revolves around avoiding unpleasant truths instead of deeply and viscerally reckoning with them.
Averting the eyes from the video footage of Israelβs atrocities in Gaza. Averting the eyes from the contradictions between the values they purport to hold and everything Israel is as a state. Averting the eyes from the mountains upon mountains of evidence staring us all in the face. Thatβs the only way support for Israel is able to continue.
In order to become a truth-driven species, we need to stop hiding from uncomfortable truths. And one of our favorite hiding places for uncomfortable truths at this point in #history is the modern state of Israel, and the western empireβs support for it.
was it worth 2 days of suffering and about $300 in parts and tools? absolutely cause the other day i realized how scorching hot the all black interior of that thing is going to get after parking it outside in the sun for a short time.
as a bonus i ended up with some new sets of snap ring pliers, and a dedicated serpentine belt tensioner tool and some stubby sockets. also fixed that last ugly little bumper sag in the front, cleaned some gunk off the alternator and the engine block, and mitigated a bit of rust in the frame while i was in there.
all in all not a bad result. just really glad i didn't screw something up and have to take stuff apart again which has definitely happened before
i figure that would have cost over $1k at the dealer since a lot of stuff has to come out to access the AC compressor, and i had to raise the engine slightly.
feeling pretty chuffed though after a test drive. this is gona make my summer suck a lot less driving to and from the property with AC

Boiling distilled water in my new borosilicate glass stove-to-fridge pitcher. Sometimes I live on the edge and do nasal lavage with distilled water STRAIGHT FROM THE GALLON JUG!!! But if I wanna be really anal like other people trying to stay on top of their bronchiectasis, I gotta boil it for 11 minutes first, because technically even bottled distilled water isn't sterile.
Bronchiectasis makes one vulnerable to infections of otherwise "friendly" bacteria in the air, soil, and water, so we're supposed to sterilize everything all the time. It's of course impossible to sterilize one's environment and I wonder how hard I should try. It's like acquired OCD. Trying to balance mental health with physical.
Anyway I got this pitcher you can boil water in on the stove, which is weird and fascinating and I keep imagining it shattering but so far so good.
@ninapaleyI don't know what they are called, but you just plug them in and they heat themselves, you keep it filled and it's always ready. Not sure it would do for sterilization though
@polariseraYeah that's not for sterilizing. You're supposed to boil water, even bottled distilled water, for 10 minutes at sea level plus another minute for very thousand feet above sea level. Then you can store it for up to 48 hours in the fridge. Then you do it agin. I will probably use it beyond 48 hours. I live on the edge, high risk. I'm doing this mostly to see if I can stand it, make it part of my daily routine. If not, I'll just use distilled water straight from the grocery store jug and hope for the best. I figured I should at least try. This borosilicate pitcher at least simplifies the process as you don't need to pour from vessel to vessel. But it is very weird to heat it on the stove! It makes strange sounds, different from stainless steel pots.

In May 2019, the FBI received a Congressional criminal referral from Mark Meadows alleging Nellie Ohr gave knowingly false statements in her testimony before Congress regarding (1) Nellieβs testimony that she had no knowledge of the DOJβs Trump/Russia investigation; (2) her testimony that she had no knowledge of the DOJβs βinvestigations on Russia.β
The fact that Nellie Ohr, wife of senior DOJ official Bruce Ohr, lied to Congress has been essentially established for a number of years. The Congressional referral discusses emails from the DOJ asking Bruce Ohr if his wife could speak with DOJ officials regarding her Russia research. Bruce asked Nellie if she would speak to the DOJ, to which Nellie emailed βSure!β Nellie would later provide these officials with her Russia analysis.
But the Congressional referral just scratched the surface. Nellieβs βopen-source researchβ, compiled while employed by Fusion GPS, was passed to the FBI by Bruce Ohr on a number of occasions. Recall that the subjects of her research included Paul Manafort, Carter Page, and Michael Flynn. Based on the timing of the disclosures (December 2016, for example) and internal FBI documents, Nellie Ohrβs research was used to help corroborate the Steele Dossier. Funny how that worked: a Fusion GPS employee corroborating a Fusion GPS work product. But it gets worse - Nellie Ohrβs research also informed and contributed to the Steele Dossier.
Before the Congressional referral was released, Nellie Ohr lied to Congress about the date she received her HAM radio license. Nellie testified that she received her HAM license in 2015, stating it was βwell beforeβ her employment at Fusion GPS. Records we received via FOIA showed her HAM license was applied for, and granted on, May 23, 2016 β during her employment at Fusion GPS.
