Existing as I have in the area of bi but also aromantic and somewhere on the asexual spectrum, it was hard for a long time to see my experience reflected in that of anyone else, which made me question my own sense of reality in a way I now find quite sad.

@benda I don't understand any other European language except for Norwegian. Norway is a little different because they're a neutral country. But I think the rest of Europe is actually pretty torn about the situation in Israel. And nobody seems to understand it. Is it just Israel against the Palestinians? The Iranians? Or just the Muslim world as a whole? Nobody really knows. And the US isn't as cavalier about what genocide means like Europe is for obvious reasons.

So I’m just making my own. Plan is to have a simple landing page with some very basic info and links to whatever on-demand printing service I use for my 3 bronchiectasis t-shirt designs.
Dreamhost offered to build a site for me based on one sentence ("information about bronchiectasis with links to t-shirts for sale") and I hit the "next" button and, well, it made this. I can't stop laughing. It's 100% full of shit.

I just finished #PicksAndShovels last night. Really fun read. It clearly comes from @pluralistic's heart. I won't say anything about the plot bc it unfolds beautifully and then folds itself up in a very satisfying way, but I will say that along with being a thriller set in the early days of computing, it's a coming-of-age story about being young and full of good intentions but with lots and lots to learn. I think a lot of men will relate to it. I hope it's not the last Hench novel!

Several different, random seeming files across various different Syncthing folders keep failing to sync even after restart, rescan, and reconfiguration, with the below error

I don't how how to fix it, the desktop app has the required permissions, and the Android app has as many storage permissions as I can give it under Android's horrible SAF limitations.
It seemed to used to be happening only to some specific old files, but now it's happening to all the new files I add onto my laptop under Videos or Music.
In addition, when trying to sync files with a specific server, it shows as disconnected, even when both are online and connected to the LAN (my phone via WiFi, the server via Ethernet), and there is some error about encryption expectations

The server is running Syncthing GUI on Fedora GNOME, same as the laptop (which does work besides for the first issue), so I don't know what the difference is that would be causing this, not a single file has been synced to the server.
This is honestly making me want to get a Fairphone 5 with Ubuntu touch to get rid of these issues, but I can't do that now.

If "my parents did it to me and I turned out fine" was your takeaway from my comment then I failed to communicate my point or you misunderstood, or both. It was more that context and circumstances also need to be considered. I did turn out ok, I think, but that's because of a lot of work I put in during my adulthood to really work on my growth and reflect on my behavior continuously to learn and grow.
As a difficult child who did not handle their emotions well I would slam my door when I got upset and was warned repeatedly not to or I would lose it. Then when I didn't listen and slammed it anyway I would suffer the consequences of my actions but only for a short period. It was fundamentally no different than having a toy or privilege taken away.
My parents also spanked me but I would never do that if I had children because I know it doesn't work. My parents did make mistakes and they, my mom at least directly, have acknowledged that and voiced their regret.
In OPs example it's out of line to take a door away because they are 16 years old and don't seem to be using it as an appropriate consequence for the child's actions. As an 8-10 year old child who also put their foot through a wall twice in the same spot, threw a ping pong paddle at their brother so hard it put a hole in the wall, and would slam the door so hard it would shake pictures on the wall being warned of the consequence of my continued misbehavior and then facing those consequences was, in my opinion, appropriate. I learned not to slam my door and to control my emotions and express them in a more healthy and less destructive way.
I'm sure there are other, some maybe better, techniques however we all learn from the mistakes of our parents so we can screw our children up in new and unique ways while avoiding what they did.
