the gtk APIs to get down to the wayland surface are a bit awkward, but at least its accessible. I tried the same with Qt6 and couldn't find a way to have it return the underlying wl_surface pointer. 🤷
I got an LV2 plugin UI with this setup working, but no hosts to try it out against. Modifying jalv.gtk3 is likely the easiest path... 🤔

...I want everyone to notice something about it in particular: when they try to write these articles, they end up doing *shitty journalism*. The Claudia Grey stuff, the Mamdani stuff, the trans stuff, sanewashing Trump ... it's not *just* irritating to lefties, it's also demonstrably bad journalism.
The point I want to make is: this is not coincidence. You could not do what the NYT is trying to do while maintaining high journalistic standards. Why? Because in reality, the parties are asymmetrical. The right has become deranged, violent, & illiberal. Dems are bog standard center-left party.
We really need to make this point over & over again. When they say, "we're going to try to be more fair & represent the right's perspective," it *sounds* (especially to them) like trying to do better journalism, but in practice, it is the opposite, because the right is built on lies.
Again: there is not some other approach whereby the NYT could represent the right more & still do high-quality, multiply-sourced, factchecked journalism. It's a null set. That's not journalism's fault, it's the right's fault.

Why assume that petroleum is formed mostly of animal remains.
Petroleum is a fossil fuel derived from fossilized organic materials, such as zooplankton and algae. Vast amounts of these remains settled to sea or lake bottoms where they were covered in stagnant water (water with no dissolved oxygen) or sediments such as mud and silt faster than they could decompose aerobically.
When I was a kid, there was a chain of service stations^1^ in the western US that used a dinosaur as its logo. This pretty clearly implied that petroleum has something to do with dinosaurs.
Petroleum was formed from stuff at the bottoms of lakes and seas laid down long before dinosaurs dominated.
It's just as easy to teach people (kids in particular) the truth, so why not do so? "Gasoline, kids, comes from algae and plankton, not dinosaurs."

You'll notice that I wrote "service" stations, not "gas" stations. The difference is significant. We still have gas stations, but we haven't had service stations in nearly 50 years.
In the film Back to the Future you'll see a service station. BTW, service stations were history when that film was made, and that film is already 40 years old.

Taking some supplement with a side-effect of lowering blood pressure or thinning the blood could help, if any of these effects are noticeable.
For example, the nattokinase enzyme, ginger, and garlic are said to thin the blood. That's probably a good thing when you're straining muscles to the point of possible damage, anyway.
