from what I've heard and read it's a great carry gun. the dealer at the store where I bought my (not a hellcat) carry gun recommended it. no manual safety, if you care about that.

Not quite as simple as that. With falling birth rate you have an aging population. More and more people who need to be supported by fewer and fewer people in their productive years. China and Japan found themselves in big trouble.
On the other hand yes, mass starvation and widespread disease will help to shrink the population.
There are population models for the earth that predict a leveling off and decline to a stable, sustainable point for various reasons I never quite absorbed.
It's complicated but one thing that has already been demonstrated in practical fashion is that you don't find a solution through falling birth rates alone.
@Jarasy I agree it isn't so simple. I object to the idea of 'birth rates are falling, we must raise them'. This idea is based on upholding the current economic system of growth, which is unsustainable.
We could better frame this as 'birth rates are falling, how can we adapt our economic and social systems to this new reality'.
The people who are complaining most about this are really saying "Birth rates among white people are falling, we must raise them." In the US, the demographic of women having babies is highest among Hispanics.
Obviously, did we stutter? Did we not make that plain? Yes we would love to see many more millions of white babies in the US and all across Europe. Is there a problem with that?
