Sensitive content

Heh, for no reason other than my own amusement, I made Home Assistant get irritated if you push the button that triggers a status read out too many times. First time is friendly. Second time used a standard voice. A few more times she sounds irritated and uses casual profanity. Enough times and she'll tell you to just read the fucking UI yourself and to leave her alone. Resets after being left idle.

World of Warcraft NPCs say voice lines if you click on them. there's a very small pool of lines and if you click two or three times you hear the others

we had been playing for ten years the first time we noticed that there's a whole other pool of lines they dip into if you click like ten times in a row, expressing their annoyance about it

our friends assured us it did that all along. we just never tried it. why would we want to be rude?

Breaking Down Sofa Reupholstery Myths

Reupholstery isn't for every sofa. If yours is cheap or falling apart, a new one might be better. But if it's well-built and fits your space or style, reupholstering can transform it.

On the fence about reupholstering your sofa? You might've heard it's too pricey, outdated, or a hassle. Those are mostly misconceptions.

Reupholstery has a reputation that doesn't always match reality. Let's debunk the common myths.

"It's Cheaper to Buy New"

For low-end, mass-produced sofas, replacing might cost less initially. But well-crafted pieces—often older or custom-made—have solid frames and materials that outlast many new options. If your sofa's structure is strong, reupholstering can be a better investment than a flimsy replacement.

Reupholstery focuses on long-term value, not just short-term savings.

"It's Too Much Effort"

Reupholstering involves picking fabrics, possibly new padding, and waiting for the job to finish. But sofa upholstery services make it manageable. Professionals guide you through decisions and handle the heavy lifting.

Buying a new sofa isn't quick—you'll spend time browsing stores, testing models, and arranging delivery. Reupholstery's effort is comparable but often easier with expert support.

"It'll Look Dated"

Some think reupholstery means a retro style. Not true. You can choose modern fabrics, bold colors, or even tweak the sofa's shape if the frame allows. The result can be fresh and stylish, often more unique than store-bought furniture.

Sofa upholstery services let you redesign your piece, not just preserve an old look.

"It Won't Feel Comfortable"

The feel might change, but that's often a good thing. Reupholstery lets you replace sagging cushions or worn springs, improving support. It's not just a visual update—it's a chance to enhance comfort.

"It's Only for Vintage Pieces"

Reupholstery isn't just for antiques. Many people refresh newer sofas to update the look or fix wear from daily use. If the frame's solid, any sofa can be revived, no matter its age.

"It Won't Last"

Durability depends on materials and craftsmanship. A well-reupholstered sofa with quality fabric and thorough work can outlast many new sofas. Sofa upholstery services that focus on the frame and internals deliver lasting results.

"All Upholsterers Are the Same"

Not really. Some just cover up issues, while others rebuild the sofa, addressing frames, springs, or padding. Ask about their process—repairs, reinforcements, or custom tweaks—to ensure quality work.

Why Reupholstery Makes Sense

Reupholstery isn't for every sofa. If yours is cheap or falling apart, a new one might be better. But if it's well-built and fits your space or style, reupholstering can transform it.

It's not just about saving money or being eco-friendly. It's about creating a piece that suits your taste and comfort. Don't let myths stop you—explore sofa upholstery services and see what's possible.

Die, die den Krieg Israels gegen #Gaza für gerechtfertigt hielten, weil es sich um legitime Verteidigung handele, und den Protest fast immer für antisemitisch hielten: Seht Ihr das weiterhin so?

Are you in Atlanta? Don't miss this free punk show at the Fulton County Courthouse at 8 am on July 7—part of a rally supporting Ayla King at their first day of trial on RICO charges.

On Ayla's first visit to Atlanta, police snatched them at random out of a crowd of hundreds at a music festival. Ayla was charged with domestic terrorism on account of an act of sabotage that happened almost a mile away while the music festival was in progress, and later charged with violating the RICO act.

These charges constitute judicial harrassment aimed at intimidating an entire movement. The prosecutors are not just despicable and dishonest—they are intent on eroding everyone's freedom to protest. Solidarity with Ayla King.

(sarcasm) Yeah, but where's the personal responsibility in that? How are people supposed to study meteorology on their own, launch their own weather satellites, instead their own river gauges, stay up all night every time they forecast some rain, when all their money is gone in taxes that is wasted by the government on useless projects like hiring meteorologists, launching weather satellites, installing river gauges, and having people stay up all night to sound the alarm as needed?

Heyo, Austrian here 👋
Over the recent years the creation of the "Donauinsel" has gotten a lot more media coverage. And while some at least praise the building, all focus on the "vehement protests". And while conservative bashing is always fun, let's add some more context so it doesn't just become a cheap excuse to make vague political statements:
The Socialists together with the Far Right, green lit the project & it was one of the most ludicrous ideas proposed. 1/2

The United Kingdom just leapfrogged the US to become the leading country in the so-called “Free World” to abandon its much-touted tradition of freedom of speech, press, and assembly, along with the right to protest.

Shame on the Starmer government

"Netanyahu’s office released a statement claiming, “the talks in Doha are continuing and are making progress""
This is a lie. Hamas and Israel do not agree on aid, the non permanent ceasefire and disarmament.
Hamas says aid must be unimpeded and come from UN, Red Crescent; the war must end and IOF withdraw. Israel say No, we stay, GHF stays and bombing will continue after 60 days. And there's the ethnic cleansing plan...

From Al Jazeera:
In the White House, at the press briefing: "Netanyahu said Israelis wouldn’t want a Palestinian state after what happened on October 7th, which is a different tone from what the prime minister had previously said on this matter. He had said that he’s worked his entire political career trying to prevent a Palestinian state, and that he would continue to do so"

"Netanyahu also said that both Israel and the US are actively working to find countries that would take Palestinians from Gaza"
Also "until Israel achieves all of its goals and objectives in Gaza, the war would continue"
The ceasefire negotiations are continuing in Doha, despite the totally diverging positions between the 2 parties.

@[G.R.K.]🌈🏳️‍⚧️Ⓐ💣¡NoPasarán! Any power source is going to be a source of heat including solar and wind because nothing is 100% efficient. Molten salt reactors are considerably more efficient than existing boiling or pressurized water technologies and a whole lot safer. Nuclear has the lowest death rate per megawatt of ANY generating technology and it also provides base load power which wind and solar do not.

Today, Ayla King was supposed to become the first of the #StopCopCity RICO defendants to face trial.

Instead, the judge declared a mistrial and sent Ayla back into the appeals process.

The interminable judicial persecution of the RICO defendants is an intentional state strategy.

Nope ❌

Romans 12:17-21 NASB Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
