Watched an idiot on a Trike cut off a dude in a pick up truck - but when both had to stop behind the school bus in front of us the pick up truck guy got out to harass the idiot on the trike. Words became shoves and, sure enough, the idiot with the trike pulled a gun. Nearly 90% of the military’s general and flag officers could be ensnared in Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s ongoing nominations fight by the end of the year, a situation a top Democratic lawmaker blasted as a “shameful charade” during a Senate floor speech on Wednesday.
“Sen. Tuberville has targeted the men and women of the military itself, and their families,” Senate Armed Services Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I., said in his remarks. “He knows the damage he is causing to our military families and our national security. It appears he simply does not care.” ... If a resolution on the nominations hold can’t be reached before the end of the month, that will leave the military’s top uniformed job vacant. Three other Joint Chiefs posts are already empty: the Army chief of staff, the chief of naval operations, and the commandant of the Marine Corps.Tuberville’s hold currently covers about 300 senior military assignments awaiting approval in the Senate since Feb. 17. Reed said that number is expected to swell to around 650 by the end of the year, with another 110 officers forced to stay in their current posts and perform two jobs simultaneously.

Ранее издание Юга.ру со ссылкой на Минздрав Краснодарского края писало, что в 2022 году в крае было зарегистрировано шесть случаев заболевания корью, а в 2021 году – ни одного.
По данным Роспотребнадзора, вакцинация от инфекционных заболеваний, включая корь, на Кубани, как и во многих других регионах, снижается. Так, в 2012 году прививки от кори сделали 75 тысяч человек, включая 60,5 тысяч детей, а в 2022 – лишь 68,5 тысяч, в том числе 59 тысяч детей.
Еще более резко за эти же 10 лет снизились показатели ревакцинации – если в 2012 году ее прошли 402 тысячи человек, то в 2022 – всего 90 тысяч. В то же время число ревакцинированных детей за эти же годы выросло и составило соответственно 55,5 тысяч и 76,5 тысяч человек.
В 2022 году число привитых детей в регионах Северо-Кавказского федерального округа сократилось в разрезе практически всех опасных болезней. Так, в 2022 году от кори на Северном Кавказе привили 117 тысяч детей, а в 2020 году было сделано 127 тысяч прививок. Это худший показатель за десять лет и в целом по федеральному округу, и отдельно в Дагестане, Кабардино-Балкарии, Северной Осетии, Ставропольском крае и Чечне. Например, в 2014 году от кори в Чечне привили 75 тысяч детей, в 2021 году – 27 тысяч детей, а в 2022 - 23 тысячи.
188 подтвержденных случаев кори выявлено в Дагестане с начала года и по конец апреля, по данным местного управления Роспотпребнадзора, все инфицированные не были привиты. Отказы от вакцинации являются причиной роста заболеваемости: защитники прав пациентов отмечают, что разъяснительная работа ведется официозно, "для галочки".

Exactly what I said when I saw those news clips. My youngest son has complex partial epilepsy, and he does that same staring thing when he's having a focal seizure.
@DianaSez Yes, my son's neurologist called them focal seizures. It's taken years to get the right dose of medication to stop them, and even then sometimes if he's dehydrated or had too much sugar or not enough sleep, he can have a breakthrough. But not often.
I think McConnell is having seizures and it's taking time to get his meds adjusted- or he's in the 50% of epilepsy patients who do not respond well to medication. A lot more are med resistant, than people realize.
@MMA McConnell's age and the actual extent of injuries he may have gotten in his big fall may contribute to the problem enough that he will be forced to retire. That would not be a bad thing for the country, even if sad for him.
I am sure that head injuries contributed to this seizure disorder. I have a friend in her late 60s who has seizures which started about seven years ago. These seizures were the eventual outcome from several concussions she suffered throughout the many years that she rode horses. She had quite a few falls off her horses, and as she was not a competitive rider, she wasn't wearing the required hard helmet. Eventually those head injuries resulted in seizure disorder.
