So not only have prosecutions of those who enable tax evasion dropped, the HMRC has lied about it when asked via FoI requests....
The money that could be raised by halting (or radically restricting) tax evasion dwarfs any money refunded by focussing on the small amounts of benefits fraud... but still the HMRC hides behind 'confidentiality' to obscure is lack of real interest in any difficult aspects of tax collection.
Like the DWP, reform is needed!
