Kanada hat, wie viele andere Länder, einen Haufen Geld in US-Staatsanleihen investiert. Als Trump mit seinen Zöllen herumfuchtelte, haben sie sich mit EU-Ländern getroffen und gemeinsam hinter verschlossenen Türen vereinbart, besagte Staatsanleihen langsam aber deutlich auf den Markt zu werfen. Nicht alle auf einmal, das ist nicht unser Stil.

Aber genug auf einmal, damit der Markt sieht, dass es mehr Angebot als Nachfrage gibt, und das keine so sichere Investition ist, wie es immer heißt.

Oh, Japan hat auch mitgemacht. Die sitzen alleine auf einer Billion Dollar in Schatzbriefen. Die EU hat 1,5 Billionen, Kanada 350 Milliarden. Das läppert sich.

I don't know how I got added to the AI snake oil working group, but by golly I'm having fun.

Free tip for AI snake oil merchants: if you're struggling to answer a simple technical query and somebody seemingly helpfully suggests to use your software to resolve it, this is what we call "a trap".

Under no circumstances allow your software to pull down its pants and expose itself in front of everybody. Especially if the helpful person was smiling when they suggested it.

I didn't think I'd ever see the Simpsons "you can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks in two" meme in real life until Mr Snake Oil asked our annual legal spend.

We gave him a suitably large figure. His little eyes lit up. Finally - real imaginary savings to be made!

We then gently pointed out we were a law firm. When we engage legal professionals it's because *we can't fucking do it ourselves* and the regulators would be mightily pissed off if we tried. And we pass the fee on.

B) you've forgotten there are at least two finance people on the call who have shot everything down so far and deeply resent being told AI can do their job better than they can
C) holy fuck but can it not do this job better than they can
D) the two finance people have somehow made your net benefit a negative number. How the fuck did that happen?

In 2008, 14-year-old Taylor Wilson accomplished something extraordinary in his garage - he built a working nuclear fusion reactor. While billion-dollar labs struggled with fusion technology, this teenager created a small but functioning fusion device using vacuum pumps and determination.
The reactor wasn't a power plant, but rather an inertial electrostatic confinement device that successfully produced plasma and neutrons. This made Wilson the youngest person in history to achieve nuclear fusion.
His achievement caught the attention of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Energy. They supported his later work developing radiation detection technology, which earned him top honors at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
The original fusion reactor was later relocated to the University of Nevada, Reno, where it continued to advance scientific research. Taylor's early breakthrough helped launch his career as a nuclear scientist and inventor.

My cats are usually pretty mellow, BUT they are indoor cats because my last died from feline leukemia virus and I didn't want to risk a repeat, so after seven years indoors my Siamese kitty escaped, and she was out for a week but finally came close enough for me to grab her but she was enjoying her time outside killing things and did not want to come in so a normal docile cat turned into a ball of flying claws resembling the old cartoons. I dropped her on my foot, resulting in a laceration, followed by an infection, a week in the hospital and five weeks at home on IV antibiotics, so yea.
