Knowing you’re trapped, and you’re never getting out. This has happened to people countless times since the beginning of this onslaught in 2023. And Israel is going out of its way to make sure even more people die this way.

this is regardless of how big of a building i live in too -- it's always been about the same, the fees slowly creeping up with inflation/time.
[i'd like to invest in the building i live in so that it uses less natgas but since the amount of gas is so low relative to the fees it's absurdly low priority rn - there's some obvious if not very economical even at 10$/mo carbon tax ways to do this but just gotta get 'em done]

Meanwhile Andor and friends demonstrate tactics of resistance and resilience.
We'll see how the rest of the season goes, but I strongly believe Andor is one of the most important shows out there right now.

It is not going to give you the nitty-gritty, but it is going to show you *how things happen*. It is going to show you the areas where fascists are weak. It is going to show you how rebellions build strength.
I'm sure it's not flawless, but this is revolutionary storytelling.
Seeing Cassian very nearly botch his mission as he struggles to pilot the tie fighter and kind of bangs around in the hanger is an important setup for this season.
It shows us that Cassian may be very cool and very smart, but he's not effortlessly good at everything & doesn't always know what he's doing. Which is important for viewers. IRL you have to do the best you can with the knowledge you have. There are no perfectly prepared individuals.
WWII Paul Newman enlisted in the Navy just four days shy of his 18th birthday with the hopes of becoming a pilot, but because of his color blindness was made a gunner.
He was stationed on an aircraft carrier as a turret gunner for an Avenger, and were it not for a bizarre twist of fate, he might not have survived the second world war. During the battle of Okinawa, Newman’s crew was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill. An ear infection prevented Newman’s pilot from flying, and so they remained in Hawaii while their squadron joined the aircraft carrier.
On May 11, 1945, the Bunker Hill was struck by two Japanese Kamikazes, killing over half the crew, including everyone from Newman’s squadron.
Newman once said he never got over the heartbreak of losing so many buddies, or the survivor's guilt of being spared until he met Joanne Woodward.
