"With an incredibly sharp mind and quick wit, Cora Sue reminisced about her days as a child actor where the work ethic and energy she dedicated to her trade exemplified, and in some cases surpassed, that of veterans with considerably more experience and fame. Cora Sue knew how to command attention but in such a way that everyone felt included—and it wasn’t an act."

It's Always About The System
C. #Johnstone

#Israel is a bad country full of bad people. They are not bad because of their religion, they are bad because they live in a genocidal apartheid state whose existence depends on indoctrinating its people into seeing #genocide and #apartheid as good. It’s the system.

It’s always the system. Western countries are full of shitty people with shitty beliefs who do shitty things to each other all the time. This isn’t because westerners are inherently shitty, nor because humans are inherently shitty. It’s because here in the western empire we live under #capitalism, which encourages selfish behavior and cutthroat competition against each other, and because we are indoctrinated into accepting the tyrannical white supremacist propaganda of western imperialism.

Nobody is inherently bad. We are all the products of our #conditioning, and the systems under which we live play a large role in shaping our conditioning. That’s what mass media #propaganda and the #indoctrination of western schooling are: streamlined systems for determining what our conditioning will be. These systems can have as much of an effect on our view of the world as other forms of conditioning like trauma.

The powerful understand that humans are an easily conditioned animal, and so vast resources are poured into determining what our conditioning shall be. As soon as we are old enough to start learning about the world our minds are trained to shape us into good cogs in the imperial machine. Good employees and gear-turners for capitalism. Good soldiers and police officers. Good citizens who would never do anything to inconvenience our rulers.

We are funneled through carefully crafted factories of conditioning by the malignant systems under which we live. As long as those malignant systems exist they will keep churning out malignant people, and goodness will struggle to find any purchase. This is true whether you are talking about capitalism, imperialism, or #Zionism.

A comment:

It’s not new. I was in elementary school in the 50’s, we got a little newspaper every week called the Weekly Reader, it was largely anti USSR, there were pictures of bread lines, poor looking school rooms, and we were constantly reminded that they had no free press so they didn’t know about well stocked grocery stores or baseball or new technology. I spent my entire childhood fearing a Soviet invasion, I hid books & keepsakes where the Russians couldn’t find them. It also used soaring, connotative language to describe America as the pinnacle of wealth, power, morality, and decency. It could bring tears of pride to my eyes.
Today, it seems we are living in conditions like the ones the Weekly Reader condemned in the USSR, we do not have free media, or entertainment, our food is stripped of nutrients, & we are siphoned into buying blocks in which everything we buy has to resemble everything everyone else buys. Apparently, the police can storm into your homes at any time & demand to see proof of citizenship, truck drivers crossing state lines can be forced to take English proficiency tests. We can be arrested for opposing mass murder in another country. We can lose our jobs for pressing a like button, have you ever done that accidentally? Too bad, you’re fired.
This rant brought to you by someone who is ashamed of America, I wish I knew where to go.

@trabex
I can't see Blanchet getting involved in a formal agreement with any federal party, though there may be some horse trading.

My expectation is that the NDP rump don't want an election any time soon and will at least informally back the Grits in the House.

Nobody wants the Cons in charge, so I am fairly confident this Parliament will carry on for some time.

Trying to run several hundred amperes through 12 or 14 gauge wire is something that is never going to work reliably. Either nVidia and company are going to have to make their GPUs more efficient or they're going to have to go to a higher voltage, higher gauge wire in such an enclosed space is problematic but so is running that much current through existing 12 or 14 gauge.

BTW, I have similar problems with my i9-10980xe servers, overclocked 18 cores can draw 540 watts full load, the VRMs and the traces on most brands of motherboards will not handle this long term, Gigabyte being a notable exception, the traces on their high end boards are twice as thick as most others and the VRMS have heat pipe cooling with a small fan on the pipe radiator. I've found that running the heaviest gauge power cables I can get AND getting cables that have the wires independent instead of in a ribbon for best heat dissipation, combined with a huge amount of fan to keep a lot of air flow going is essential to keeping these things from melting down or flaming out. I even had an Asrock board melt the solder at the power connection on the CPU socket it got so hot from the current draw.

Oh, my God...

"The interim US attorney for DC [Ed Martin] claims…that #Wikipedia is 'allowing foreign actors to manipulate information and spread propaganda,' including by 'rewriting' historical events and through 'other matters implicating the national security and the interests of the United States.' "

PS: Where to start? Apart from the ideological problem of what counts as propaganda, and the legal problem of protected speech, there are two epistemological problems here. One is that truth-seeking is and ought to be international. The other is that even if editing the English-language Wikipedia were limited to Americans, Martin would still hate many of documented conclusions they published. National origin is not a good proxy for party line.

Martin is the same US attorney sending letters to medical journals asking them to explain why they are not partisan.

Kenya's kidney trade: Inside global organ trafficking network

#politics #health #capitalism #hell

The article is very long, so here's a summary of the most important points...

Young adults struggling with poverty are being recruited to sell their kidneys for as little as $2000, by dodgy organ harvesting operations in Kenya. Those who've sold their kidneys are used to recruit others for a small commission for each referral. Kenya is used because there aren't laws against donating your organs for profit and a foreign exploitation ring is using the gap as their business model.

It doesn't end there, because many donors aren't from Kenya, but other poor countries such as Pakistan. The medical companies fly in poor people, take their organs and give them a small amount of compensation. Many donors can't adequately speak English and don't understand what they're really consenting to or any of the risks involved. Some haven't even been old enough to donate their organs.

The Kenya based medical companies target people with kidney failure, in higher income markets like Israel and Germany. They promise a new kidney within 30 days and charge up to $200,000 for the organs they bought for as little as $2000. Donors are advertised as completely altruistic, of course. But I doubt the recipients are really asking too many questions. A number of the recipients returned with failed transplants and serious infections.

And the brain behind Medlead? An Israeli who has been accused of performing a large amount of illegal kidney transplants, across a number of countries. His mate, Boris Wolfman apparently is the brain behind the criminal enterprise.

This is one of the many evil faces of capitalist exploitation, by making organs just something to be sold by poor people and maximising the profit from people stuck on kidney waiting lists. Humanity is just a commodity to these sick fuckers.

we're seemingly heading in the right direction... I'll cheer that. also enjoying libTards meltdowns.

but notice my post was questioning the video's narrative. I understand the CCP is a tyranny and may be producing propaganda to make themselves look weak. They are the home of Sun Tzu after all.

BTW (and, for what its worth) Reuters is reporting Xi has backed off the ethane tariff.

also, extra ethane supply could drive down the price of antifreeze and detergents, as well as be used to boost BTU output of nat-gas. So... there's that.

President Trump held an executive order on Monday to create a list of and strip funding from states that “continue to use their authority to violate, obstruct, and defy the enforcement of Federal immigration laws.”
