The leadership fixation is probably not primitive. We have a caricature in our minds of what the early human governance structures were like,with very hierarchical male dominated structures. There is a lot of historical and anthropological data that says it is a fairly recent invention, and we may have had much more horizontal, distributed and female led governance.
