@AlexanderVI you are 100% correct. I grew up in California and have lived all over the country. There are large numbers of heavily armed people *everywhere* in America (it's just that red states are more likely to have open carry so you *see them* more). And conservatives in blue states are the *worst* — resentful, protected from their bad decisions by blue state policies but extra aggrieved because they don't have the majority cultural power to inflict their bigotry on everyone.

@milkman76 I'm not, but my experience of ten years in LA being around a wide variety of people from different backgrounds was that those on the right were generally more comfortable with gun ownership, and that there are many places in the state that are deeply red despite the overall impression of some outside that California is all groovy and whatever.

I am sure, however, as you point out, that it's not EXCLUSIVELY right wingers who are armed.

Meanwhile, in #LosAngeles. #ICE under attack b/c this👇

Via "feminist news", facebook.
"ICE agents and #LAPD turned the beautiful city of LA into a war zone Friday evening. Heavily armed masked ICE goons ransacked a vibrant immigrant community, but they certainly weren't expecting the neighborhood to stand their ground. Hundreds of community members workers and activists overwhelmed ICE agents and had them corralled around the federal building."

The #Madleen crew has almost arrived! For those who have felt powerless watching the #genocide, or simply do not wish to see evil triumph by doing nothing, now is the chance to support them:

- Email the different government authorities to ask them to protect their citizen(s)
palestine.risefor.org/action-g…

- or send a letter to the Israeli authorities (almost 1 million sent),
link on the page freedomflotilla.org

-or email their foreign ministries

From 1933–44, the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei, i.e. Secret State Police) and its partner agencies—SiPo/RSHA (Security Police/Reich SS Security Main Office) and the SD (Security Service)—patrolled homes & workplaces, making warrantless arrests under “Schutzhaft” (protective custody). They targeted political dissidents, Jews, Roma, clergy, homosexuals, etc., often based on civilian denunciations, and deported many to conc. camps—bypassing any judicial review. #trump #ice #fight #democracy

Germany has no equivalent to the U.S. Second Amendment and no “stand your ground” laws. Self-defense is permitted but must be proportionate. The social security system, incl. healthcare, is based on solidarity and financed through contributions shared by employees and employers. In contrast to the U.S., Germany places greater emphasis on collective security and social responsibility. That's what the far-right is abusing all the time: 'our -tax dollars, -country, -rights' - big BS.

“A draft dodger is holding a military parade on June 14. That is so offensive to people like me that I have no words that are not profane to say what I feel.”

alright fedi. gonna ask a controversial question

What is the Least Bad Chromium-based browser? Been getting really fucking fed up with how slow Firefox has been lately

I’m not particularly picky about it needing to be 100% FOSS or de-Googled or anything. I just want to be able to sync my bookmarks and extensions across several computers, both Windows and macOS

To modern eyes, it sounds bizarre—but placing a live frog in a milk bucket was once a clever survival tactic. In rural Russia and Finland, people noticed that milk stayed fresh longer when a frog was swimming in it. This tradition, passed down for generations, was based on keen observation rather than scientific understanding.

Years later, researchers discovered the truth: brown frogs secrete powerful antimicrobial peptides through their skin—natural compounds that fight off bacteria. What seemed like folklore turned out to be early biochemistry in action. A frog in your milk wasn’t just a rural myth—it was an unwitting act of preservation.

PREP ACT - Time for Supreme Court to weigh vaccine case?

americanthinker.com/blog/2025/…

Trust in federal agencies such as the NIH, CDC, and FDA will not be restored without accountability. If the U.S. Supreme Court declines to address the egregious miscarriages of justice accomplished under the PREP Act, all American children are at continuous risk, and public schools will attract suspicion. Similarly, public confidence in the ...

nation’s highest court will be tarnished along with the federal agencies and Congress it is entrusted to hold to the highest law of the land.

My comments are:

Since the early 1980's, the public schools, Coast to Coast, have been involved in taking or directing minor children to Planned Parenthood for advice and/or abortions. There is the chance that any of these minors could die or end up sterile!! Who holds the liability for this murder and maiming?
