Wow, Firefox by default applies DNS encryption over HTTP, to protect you from your evil ISP watching what sites you check. But you know who they use to resolve the DNS request? No other than fucking Cloudfare! So in effect, Cloudfare sees everything about the sites you visit when you use Firefox. Thanks Mozilla, but I'd rather trust my ISP than Cloudfare in that case. And cherry on the cake, they enable this by default, without opt-in request. The "champions of the Free Web" are the worst

They can claim whatever they want about doing no logs and all, but they have to abide to whatever the intelligence community tells them to do, and gag orders are a thing. So in effect, you have no way of knowing what they do with your DNS data.
@narvod yeah I'm wondering what I missed here... I use them for DoH on my home network. It's at least as much about circumventing malicious packet shaping and NXDOMAIN hijacking as it is about privacy from the ISP. The service is free and doesn't involve logging in to an account such as would necessitate tracking of user IDs. If cloudflare has been fucking around, I haven't heard about it yet.

Harvard Divinity School (HDS) has appointed Rabbi Shaul Magid, a self-described "counter-Zionist," as a Professor of Modern Jewish Studies in Residence to combat "anti-Israeli bias". #Harvard's anti-Semitism task force found that "politicized instruction" was creating an environment where #Jewish students couldn't fully participate in academic life.
Magid acknowledged rising anti-Jewish sentiment but defended the anti-Israel protest movement. He called the Jewish state โilliberalโ and โchauvinist.โ In his 2023 book, *The Necessity of Exile*, he presented Zionism as a historical ideology that served its purpose but should be abandoned with other ethnic nationalism and colonial thinking. He positioned his opposition as part of a broader critique of exclusionary nationalist ideologies, not as antisemitic. He argued that #Zionism had its time and work, and it can be set aside, along with Manifest Destiny, #colonialism, and other chauvinistic ideologies. He advocates for a one-state solution where Israel would be both Jewish and Palestinian without being structured on the notion that this land belongs to anyone.
Hiring a Jewish scholar and rabbi to address campus antisemitism seems to be a perfect choice. Yet Rabbi David Wolpe, a former Harvard anti-Semitism advisory group member, believes Magidโs hiring doesnโt solve Harvardโs issues with Jewish students. The criticism of Harvard, now due to Magidโs โcounter-Zionistโ views, suggests the real objection was to perspectives that challenge Israelโs policies or Zionist ideology.
In fact Wolpeโs criticism that Magidโs views donโt โrepresent anything like the mainstream view of the American Jewish communityโ further supports this interpretation - the issue appears to be ideological conformity on #Israel rather than protection from #antisemitism. But did anyone really doubt it was about anything else?
