People have tried to claim that both Hinduism and Judaism are ethnocentric religions but I would suggest that Hindu's are not trying to prevent White or Black or SouthEast Asian or Hispanic people from practicing Hinduism but instead people from these other ethnic groups simply for the most part are not interested in becoming Hindus, some are interested in Yoga but for the most part they are not interested in setting up a Statue to a Hindu deity and performing rituals

I was wondering if @KK954 knows anybody down in Florida that grows Barbados Cherry aka Acerola.

Ive been contemplating attempting some around here in coastal SC.

Ive run into chefs who are obsessed with evenly sprinkling spice over food.

I think that is a huge mistake. You want some variation on the amount of spice on say a fish filet that you are broiling. Not a completely even layer over the entire fish. For one thing the fish itself has a thicker central area of the filet which tapers off towards the sides (upper and lower fish).

But just looking at the shirmp here. Some variation in the amount of spice on each shrimp gives a variety of flavor combos. Those with less basil and thyme, allow the butter, lemon and garlic to step forward...not to forget the mild flavor of the shrimp itself.

In Central Alabama, we get daily trucks up from Mobile with fresh shrimp on ice. It's not as good as eating shrimp on the coast, but it's still pretty damn good.

I buy frozen bags of shrimp, too, but I always, always check the label and make sure it's not from India or China. I only buy the frozen gulf shrimp or the wild caught Argentinian shrimp. They charge about 5-10 bucks extra per bag to not include Indian poo. Money well spent.

I've been wanting to visit Bayou La Batre for a while because there's a weird Soviet mini submarine that ended up there for some reason, and you can see it from the highway that goes into town.

Bayou La Batre is more or less the inspiration for Greenbow, Alabama from Forrest Gump. There are shrimp boats lined up in the bayou and several fish markets where you can buy fresh seafood. I'm planning to take my mini fridge with me when I go and come back loaded down, and put on a feast.

I found out AFTER I moved away from Florida that state residents are allowed to harvest some ridiculous amount of fresh shrimp without a permit, like 2 gallons per person per day. You can just put out a cast net with a punctured can of cat food and they'll flock to it, then you pull the net up.

There ain't nothing like fresh, just came out of the water and got its little head popped off shrimp.

I picked up some Camu Camu Powder to mix with Protein-Fiber Smoothies for a blast of Natural Vitamin C.

Camu Camu is a dark red to deep purple bush berry that grows in the Amazon forest along river basins. The bush can survive being completely submerged during flooding. It has the highest concentration of vitamin C known...beating even the Barbados Cherry (aka Acerola).

@thebitchisback it was the boomers that caused the fly situation imo they wanted the ponds and such to look pristine so they out some chemical in them and now no life exists around the ponds and lake. My guess is that’s why the flies are everywhere. I’ll be getting this fixed tomorrow.

Just more nonsense. Wildlife and bugs live around ponds why take away their home so the water looks artificial? Nonsense

The Russians aren't impressed with Trump's threats. One half expects the idiot president to start accusing the Russians of election interference. He may as well do so, since this is MAGA's war now. Trump owns this war now, the fucking moron. He has let Joe Biden, Tony Blinken and the other idiot, Jake Sullivan, running the last administration, off the hook. He's as senile as Biden, which makes him analogous to Biden 2.0.

Trump thinks that his base is made up of pure fools, if he does, he may be right about that. He made promises that the taraffs were his plan to abolish the income tax, as if anyone with IQ's above room temperature, would believe that. However, it seems that his tariffs are actually a way for the US to keep financing her forever wars.

Peace in Ukraine Won’t End the West’s Hybrid War on Russia

Their refined Hybrid War model will involve efforts to win the “tech race”, a new Western division of labor for containing Russia in Europe, and AI-generated anti-Russian infowars.

Russia’s natural resource wealth and new role in accelerating multipolar processes incentivize the West to continue its Hybrid War on Russia even in the event of peace in Ukraine. The US’ neoconservative policymaking faction and the EU’s liberal-globalists (essentially one and the same at this point) continue to perceive Russia as an enduring rival to contain and ideally dismember. That’s why they’re expected to refine their ongoing Hybrid War on Russia in the coming future through the following three means.

I just wanted to promote Parish Rice again.

White Rice is one of the things that I just couldnt give up. I found this higher protein white rice which was bred by Louisiana State University and is being grown in Louisiana for commercial sale as Parish Rice.

It's still not the healthiest choice in the world but the higher protein content reduces the glycemic index of white rice (processed high starch) from like 60-70 down to mid 40s. And put white rice back on the table from time to time for a nice treat, for me, for stir frys and red beans n rice, ettoufe, Charleston red rice and so on and so forth.

Got in a car accident
Rear ended some thot that was stopped in the middle of an offramp. Apparently she though a yield sign was a stop sign even when there was a 100 yards of clear road in front of her to do the merge
My airbag went off
Barely any damage to my front. Still drives like nothing happened
Thot couldn't speak a lick of English

I think our #Brother printer is messing up my FAT32 flash drive. Several time I formatted it, but then after using it on this printer there would be issues, sometimes my #Debian laptop refused to mount and read, sometime #Windows failed to detect filesystem or failed to read/write files properly. But the thing to to keep it universal for Windows, #Linux, #BSD and the printer, FAT32 seems to be the only choice. I am gonna use another flash drive for now just to make sure there is no malfunction in the thumb driver itself.
in reply to KaiXin

Does the printer offer a way to dismount the USB before you pull it? I would guess not, because it's a printer; it's a nonzero chance an issue with the printer is causing it to keep reading the drive after the print job, while you pull the drive. Try with another USB and see if the same thing happens; if you can, try the original USB with a different printer as well.

I bought a big bag of lids from Amazon, and I also have some of those silicone lids for the 5 gallon carboys that go on the water cooler. I figured I'd drink more water if I had a water cooler, and I was right. I'm like a cat with one of those cat fountains.

You can heat sanitize glass and silicone in the dish washer, but if there's any stuck on debris that you can't get with a bottle brush, it will usually come off with a teaspoon of oxyclean in the bottle, and fill it about half way with clean water and shake it really well, then fill it up all the way and let it sit for a little while. Then pour it out and rinse it really well.

I've got one glass carboy and several plastic ones. The plastic ones are easier to handle, but in general I'm trying to move away from plastic and back to glass, ceramic, or metal containers for everything.

Don't buy smart home devices that require a cloud connection because the manufacturer *will* eventually brick them.
It's a waste of your money and a terrible amount of avoidable e-waste.
Instead, buy from companies who make devices that work with no cloud and/or with a free local option like Home Assistant.
