If you take the time to fact-check them as much as you should, they use up more time than they save. In other words, they're not useless; they're somewhat worse than useless.

There are legal and philosophical questions to which there is no clear answer, only considerations. How should an AI decide what is right there?
There are freedoms guaranteed in human rights, such as freedom of the press and the right to physical integrity. But what happens when the press calls for war? Which freedom then dominates?
Apparently the attorney general thinks that AI should be politically impartial. Why should it be? If you don't like what it says, stop listening to it.
