So after knitting all the bad stitches out on my beanie, i am finally doing it. I am trying to finish off the poncho I started, like. Four years ago?

Itโ€™s been sitting in the box so long itโ€™s gotten dusty. But weโ€™re doing it. Weโ€™re making it happen.

  • Otto Kuusinen: As long as the working class wages only an economic struggle, the bourgeoisie does not see in that any great danger for itself; but when the working class organises politically, i.e., creates a political party which expresses its will as a class, the bourgeoisie begins seriously to fear for its rule. That is why reaction deals its main blows against the political party of the working class. At the same time, trying to undermine the party from within, capitalist propaganda endeavours to persuade the workers that they can do without their own party. One of the manifestations of bourgeois influence on the working class is the anarchist and anarcho-syndicalist denial of the leading role of a political party.

This rascal named Lukas, more frequently called Lukee because I experimented with variations on his name containing more high frequencies (ee being a higher vocalization than us). I did this because cats have good hearing in the 1khz-60Khz range, less so below 1Khz, and he indeed does respond better to that.

I also have a Siamese female named Tulip, but what is interesting about Lucas is that he has observed me building / repairing computers and thus knows I use wire ties, so when his food gets low he goes around finding wire ties and sets them in or next to his dish in payment for his food.

Musk's xAI Updates Grok after White Genocide Controversy tn.ai/3314496

So it turns out that ChatGPT can't generate sheet music from audio. I assume it could given that it can generate LilyPond files. So I have to use some specialized tool to generate MIDI files for instrument conversion.

The AI tools are all proprietary and are subscription-based. My only other option is some online MP3 to MIDI converter.

It shouldn't be too hard because all I need is to record a short fanfare for my game. I already have a kazoo ordered which I will use to record it and then convert the thing to MIDI so it can be played with better instruments.

Wow. On 5/17, Trump just truthed out a video that seems to call out the โ€œClinton body countโ€

It begins with JFK Jr and ends withโ€ฆ Seth Rich, who, if you watch our shows weโ€™ve been saying would likely be back in the news soon.

๐Ÿ”— truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTruโ€ฆ

Hot damn. Trump just posted a video insinuating that Hillary Clinton had JFK JR killed, suicided White House counselor Vince Foster, and that Seth Rich WAS the DNC leaker.

Trump just affirmed the Clinton body count.

Someone please arrest her.

So, what will be DONE about all of this, then? Are we going there? Will we overturn the 2020 Stolen Election, and will President Trump be given the rightful win, long after the fact...

Hold the Treasonous Illegitimate Usurper, Lyin' ChYna Joe Briben Accountable, and his Auto pen too...

It's all connected. ๐Ÿ˜‰

"President Trump on Saturday morning went off on the growing Biden autopen scandal after disturbing audio of Robert Hurโ€™s interview with the former president was released.

The President said the autopen scandal was a โ€œmajor partโ€ of the real crimeโ€ that the 2020 presidential election was โ€œrigged and stolen.โ€

Trump also slammed โ€œDirty copโ€ James Comey for spying on his 2016 campaign.

โ€œWhoever had control of the โ€œAUTOPENโ€ is looking to be a bigger and bigger scandal by the moment. It is a major part of the real crime, THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN! Millions and millions of people knew that, but the Radical Left Democrats waged a campaign of inoculation and innocence like none that had ever been waged before. THIS IS WHY THE UNSELECT COMMITTEE OF POLITICAL THUGS, WHO WERE GIVEN A FULL AND COMPLETE PARDON BY THE PERSON WHO WIELDED THE NOW ILLEGALLY USED AUTOPEN, DELETED AND DESTROYED ALL EVIDENCE AND INFORMATION FROM THEIR CORRUPT AND VICIOUS WITCH HUNT AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE, WHOSE LIVES WERE COMPLETELY SHATTERED AND DESTROYED BY THIS HISTORICALLY CRIMINAL EVENT. Remember, it all began with DIRTY COP James Comey, Obama, a hapless and cognitively impaired Sleepy Joe Biden, and my now very famous ACCUSATION that,โ€œTHEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN!โ€ Whoever had control of the Autopen is just the beginning. The biggest crime of all is that THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED! I (MAGA!) WON THE ELECTION BY MILLIONS OF VOTES, AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT. GOD BLESS AMERICA, FOR THE FIGHT HAS JUST BEGUN!!!โ€ Trump said on Saturday morning in a Truth Social post."

@Lady MountainJay Yea, when my previous cat Monster (a real sweetheart huge grey tabby) died, shortly thereafter I went to PAWS intending to get another kitten (I had adopted Monster when he was already 12 years old, and undoubtedly he may have lived much longer but he was infected with feline leukemia and that took his life several months later), this time I wanted a kitten, as much as there was a sense of gratitude for being given the opportunity to give an old sick cat a good home I just didn't want to go through that grief right away so looked for a kitten. PAWS had no young cats at that point but suggested I check back in March or April when they typically have kittens so did so. They had a cute Siamese and a grey Tomcat about 7 months old, I hadn't intended to get two cats but they had been together nearly since birth so I took them both, now I've had them close to eight years and glad I did take them both as their interactions provide quite a lot of entertainment and with two cats, if one is in an aloof mood the odds are good the other won't be.

We need a Constitutional Amendment that says an Impeached President:
- Loses Presidential Immunity
- Loses the ability to make Presidential Pardons
- Has any Pardons they may have already issued Invalidated
- Forfeits Secret Service Protection
- Forfeits any Presidential Pension
- Not entitled to a Presidential Library
- All appointments to the Judiciary subjected to cancellation and removal and all cases decided to be re-opened for re-decision if any Judge is removed
- Name, likeness, and list of any "accomplishments" (if any) erased from the Public record
- Must be referred to as "the Impeached President"

Call it the The Inability to Profit or Grift off the Office of the Presidency Amendment and make it retroactive to 2016.

Copying data from 6 hard drives to 1 big one, in linux

Maybe a dumb question. But is this just a matter of copying over? I have 6 hdds I've accumulated and want all the data from them on one big drive now. They are all ntfs as they are from windows, but I am going to boot from my mint drive to move the files, just so windows isnt running or accessing anything on the drives while I move the data. I'm transitioning to full linux, but I want to consolidate these drives first. I dont want to clone drives, so no dd here, just copying files from 6 different drives onto 1.

@Possibly linux To be sure, but I assume since he was formerly running Windows performance wasn't an issue. No, it's obvious he is more concerned with getting the clutter factor down so he stated a preference for a single large drive, and if data isn't important or backed up some other media fine. If not, then you risk losing your data because sooner later drives fail. If performance was really the goal he'd raid a bunch of nvme drives together. This, by the way, is what I do for the system that runs this friendica node, along with an 18 core processor and 256 gb of RAM.

Youth in the Highlands of Chiapas: Between Hurt and Hope

On Saturday, April 19, the double femicide of the Tseltal sisters Valeria and Deisi Gรณmez Mรฉndez, murdered with bullets and found in the community of Cruz Obispo, in the municipality of Chamula, was made public on social networks. They were 18 and 14 years old, respectively. They had been kidnapped days before in San Cristรณbal de Las Casas (SCLC). Their murder adds to the eight that have occurred so far this year and the 32 reported during 2024 in the state.

Violence doesnโ€™t end in an environment where the security strategy imposes despotic and authoritarian police force to publicize what seems to be a long campaign act of the current governor of Chiapas, Eduardo Ramirez. Has a peace pact been made? The prosecutorโ€™s office in charge of the investigations has a past of torture and fabrication of guilty parties that raises doubts when femicides continue and human trafficking, mainly young women and children of indigenous origin, has been established in improvised brothels between SCLC and Chamula.

โ€œWhy donโ€™t they report it?โ€ asks a visitor. Some cases of abuse are found in the family environment, others are forced to let their daughters come and go on weekends under pressure from organized crime gangs that persist at the local level. The truth is that little is known about the power networks that sustain the abuse, but it is an open secret that coincides with the ferment of criminal governance in the region, and that along with other factors of hopelessness, affects the mental health of young people who commit self-harm and even decide to end their lives; as documented by the Network for the Rights of Children and Adolescents in Chiapas, youth suicides in indigenous communities continue to increase.

In addition, since the end of last year around twenty men have been arrested on charges of belonging to local armed groups known as โ€œmotonetos,โ€ including a couple of alleged leaders. However, the criminal network remains active and continues to recruit young men in public schools by branding them with tattoos on the back of their heads with the initials of the armed group to which they belong. At the same time, the consumption of drugs such as crystal meth is increasing among this population. Gang membership has become part of their youth identity. It is only a matter of time before the fragile pacts of criminal governance dissolve.

But hope also flowers in this land. In recent days the Rebel y Revel Festival: Art, Rebellion and Resistance Towards the Day Afterโ€ was held in the recently constructed Jacinto Canek caracol, in Tenejapa, where the constant, as in past spaces convened by the Zapatistas, is the participation of hundreds of young men and women support bases who attend, organize themselves and also take advantage of the space to meet and fall in love.

Wearing their traditional costumes with tennis shoes, a trio of young people take the microphone to sing their songs of struggle to the rhythm of hip hop; a young woman with her face covered declaims poetry in Tsotsil, others show the paintings they have made illustrating the common life of their grandparents and great-grandparents made with natural materials. These are the third and fourth generations, heirs of the Zapatista resistance, who dress up as bees with balaclavas, polar bears, stilts, dolphins, parrots and other animal species to represent the play โ€œNature rebels,โ€ originally called โ€œBichos,โ€ where they show the importance of the organization for the defense of Mother Earth. Among more than five hundred participants of diverse arts in the meeting, this play was positioned as one of the main ones of the event, directed by Subcomandante Moisรฉs, was praised by playwright Luis de Tavira, who called to learn from the hope that the Zapatistas hold as an antidote against the fear that results from a violent society.

The hope of flourishing in resistance and sustaining the organizational structure that the Zapatistas call โ€œthe Common,โ€ an old practice of the indigenous communities, is a call to defend life, to continue believing that another world is possible, one where young people can live with peace and dignity.

Till Lindemann: In East Germany there were very few things, but there was also a feeling of solidarity that no longer exists. Now we are up to the neck in consumption, the ego, the individualism. Now before friendship, it is merchandise. wordsmith.social/protestation/โ€ฆ

Quotes

  • Democritus: Many who have not learned wisdom live wisely, and many who do the basest deeds can make most learned speeches.
  • Democritus: Fools learn wisdom through misfortune.

  • Democritus: Neither art nor wisdom may be attained without learning.
  • Democritus: It is better to correct your own faults than those of another.
  • Democritus: Good means not (merely) not to do wrong, but rather not to desire to do wrong.
  • Democritus: Fame and wealth without wisdom are unsafe possessions.
  • Muammar Gaddafi: We will not surrender. We will defeat them by any means. We are ready for the fight, whether it will be a short or a long one. We will be victorious in the end. This assault is by a bunch of fascists who will end up in the dustbin of history.
  • Democritus: By convention sweet is sweet, bitter is bitter, hot is hot, cold is cold, color is color; but in truth there are only atoms and the void.
  • Democritus: We know nothing accurately in reality, but (only) as it changes according to the bodily condition, and the constitution of those things that flow upon (the body) and impinge upon it.
  • Democritus: Medicine heals diseases of the body, wisdom frees the soul from passions.

  • Democritus: Of practical wisdom these are the three fruits: to deliberate well, to speak to the point, to do what is right.
  • Democritus: 'Tis not in strength of body nor in gold that men find happiness, but in uprightness and in fulness of understanding.
  • Democritus: He who does wrong is more unhappy than he who suffers wrong.
  • Samuel P. Huntington: The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion (to which few members of other civilizations were converted) but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.
  • Marjori Palmer: One of the most morale-damaging aspects of the inflation was the "sack of Germany" that occurred at the height of the (1923) inflation. Anyone who possessed dollars or sterling was king in Germany. A few American dollars would allow a man to live like a millionaire. Foreigners swarmed into the country, buying up family treasures, estates, jewelry and art works at unbelievable low prices.
  • Lionel Robbins: It was the most colossal thing of its kind in history: and next probably to the Great War itself, it must bear responsibility for many of the political and economic difficulties of our generation. It destroyed the wealth of the more solid elements of German society: and left behind a moral and economic disequilibrium, a breeding ground for the disasters which have followed. Hitler is the foster child of the inflation.
  • Lenin: There is no trace of utopianism in Marx, in the sense that he made up or invented a 'new' society. No, he studied the birth of the new society out of the old, and the forms of transition from the latter to the former, as a natural-historical process. He examined the actual experience of a proletarian mass movement and tried to draw practical lessons from it.
  • Che Guevara: Many will call me an adventurer - and that I am, only one of a different sort: one of those who risks his skin to prove his platitudes.
  • Democritus: The first principles of the universe are atoms and empty space; everything else is merely thought to exist.
  • Bertolt Brecht: Lenin is enshrined In the large heart of the working class.
