List of Fediverse services: fediverse.party/en/miscellaneo…
Fediverse is a contraction of Federated Universe. It's basically a very large network of servers that form, well, a social network. But contrary to the ones you might be used to, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others, the Fediverse is composed of different services.
The more well known are Mastodon, a Twitter-like microblogging service, PeerTube, a youtube-like platform, or PixelFed, an Instagram-like social network, but there are a TON of others.
Each service is also decentralized, which means there is not one big server farm where everything is hosted: each service is split into instances, basically independent servers, with different goals.
ActivityPub is an open standard, that lets all services on the Fediverse talk to each other. How does that work? Well, in practice, it means you can use your Mastodon app to follow a Peertube channel, or someone that posts pictures on PixelFed, or see new articles from a Wordpress website.
And this goes a bit further: for example, if I comment on Mastodon on a post from Peertube, that comment will also appear on Peertube underneath the video.
Let's start with Mastodon. Mastodon is basically Twitter, but open source and decentralized. It lets you post messages with up to 500 characters, it supports images, videos, polls, content warnings, animated avatar pictures, emojis, links, mentions, hashtags, anything you're used to on Twitter. Mastodon has 1.5 million active users, which might seem small compared to Twitter, but it's more than enough to have interesting conversations with a lot of cool people.
To join Mastodon, all you need to do is pick a server, also called an instance. You can pick any server you like, and it will let you interact with everyone else on any other server.
And then, you can use Mastodon on the web, by typing the address of your instance in your browser, for example, for me, it's mastodon.social, or you can use a mobile app.
Now let's talk about PeerTube. It's a Youtube alternative, although it's much, much smaller. Peertube is also decentralized, being split into different servers, that are federated together, so you can follow people from different instances and still have a complete subscription feed. It also supports ActivityPub, which means you could subscribe to my peerTube channel from a mastodon account, and have a post in your timeline every time I publish a video.
And as a creator, it also lets you sync your youtube channel to it, so you can auto-publish all your videos to Peertube in a few clicks, which is also a great help.
To watch peertube, just type the address of your instance in your browser's URL, for me it's tilvids.com.
Another cool service on the Fediverse is PixelFed. It's basically Instagram, without all the crap they tacked on lately, like reels, or lives. It's just pictures and videos. It's free software, it also uses the ActivityPub standard, so you can follow PixelFed users on Mastodon, for example, and it's ad-free.
It also lets you add filters, just like Instagram, or crop, resize, adding alt text, and you can use hashtags, locations, or create collections, basically photo albums.

"3" by Britney Spears
Lyrics
One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
Countin'
One, two, one-one-one-one, two, three
Countin', one, two, countin′, one-one, two, three
Babe, pick a night to come out and play
If it′s alright, what do you say?
Merrier the more, triple fun that way
Twister on the floor, what do you say?
Are you in?
Livin' in sin is the new thing, yeah
Are you in?
I am countin′
One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I'm caught in between
Countin′, one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin' down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
Countin′, one, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I'm caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
Three is a charm, two is not the same
I don′t see the harm, so are you game?
Let's make a team, make ′em say my name
Lovin' the extreme, now are you game?
Are you in?
Livin′ in sin is the new thing, yeah
Are you in?
I am countin'
One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin' down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
Countin′, one, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
What we do is innocent
Just for fun and nothin' meant
If you don′t like the company
Let's just do it, you and me
You and me
Or three
Or four, on the floor
One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary

So, I don't think I'm teaching you anything when I say that Google Search has been getting worse and worse. What Google Search is losing, is accuracy. The pre-made snippets that they display? often don't refer to what you're looking for, they're generally related to, but not exact when searching for specific things. The AI summaries that they want to add? Well, we all know AI isn't exactly reliable, and that you have to fact check literally everything it says, so it doesn't quite save time compared to a regular search.
There's also the fact that consumer reviews are now pretty much garbage, generated by review farms. The fact that SEO "hacking" has made trying to appear in top results a game and an industry, and much like regular hacking, Google can only play catch up, and never really beat the manipulations website engage in.
it's all a mess, and this results in having to type "reddit" at the end of your query to get some actual answers written by some actual people, however dabatable these answers can be, depending on the topic.
So, if you want to fight the AI onslaught that is ruining most searches, there's something you CAN do.
Google started adding AI results to the top of your searches, which pre-digest answers that loosely match your query, often adding some nice little hallucinations and misinformation in there.
So, if you still want to use Google Search because everything else is, in your use case, not as good, you can at lest create a shortcut that removes a bunch of the crap Google adds.
To do so, you need to add a custom search engine, most browsers let you do that. In Firefox and its forks, you can go to sttings, then search, then at the bottom, you can add a search shortcut that uses this URL: google.com/search?udm=14&q=%s
You can also add that to Chromium based browsers by entering another string in the search sttings as well, as a new search engine.
{google:baseURL}/search?udm=14&q=%s
You can make that new engine the default in your settings, and when using that, it will remove all AI results, and default to the "web" tab instead of the "all" tab of Google search, so you only get webpages and not all the extra crap.
The engine I currently use is Duck Duck Go, it's the search engine that at least, in French and english, tends to give me the best results.
It also has a slew of options that let you disable a LOT of stuff you don't want.
DDG has AI built-in, but you can remove that. Ads? You can disable them in the settings.
Don't like the stylesheet and look? You can change that easily enough as well.
You can even disable the "instant answers" that provides pre digested snippets, even if these aren't AI generated.
Another one I used extensively in the past is Ecosia, it also uses Bing quite a lot for their results, but the engine is nice, gives accurate results, and if you have ads turned on, they'll plant trees with the money they get, although how efficient this is depends on who they contract that out to, so not sure if it's a big benefit or not.
If you like the concept of the Fediverse, mastodon, Peertube and the like, you might also like SearXNG. It's a federated metasearch engine, meaning it's decentralized, and hosted by several instances, either private, for your own use and no one else's, or public, where you can access the engine, but you'll need to ensure they don't log stuff, so you kind of have to trust the person or org hosting it.
If you use the Brave browser, you might also know about their search engine, which is an interesting one, because it's a very rare occurrence of an engine with its own Index: they don't depend on Google or Bing for results, they use their own index entirely, including for images and videos.
They do have the AI crap baked in, so that's a drawback, but you can disable that in the engine settings if you don't want it.

The big problem with many libertarians is that they think they can implement their policies in any order and cheer even when they get open borders without realizing that having open borders means they will lose any possibility of cutting welfare. "Don't worry, we are working on that problem too!"
That is where the retardation is with many libertarians and the Libertarian party.

I gotta say, all this nebulizing hypertonic saline and nasal lavage...feels good. Like my face and airways feel good and kinda energized afterwards.
It's been a total pain in the ass learning how to make a routine around this, especially cleaning. I'm now boiling nebulizer parts after every use and transferring them to a baby bottle sterilizer to dry. I'm still trying different devices and brands; today I got a NeilMed silicone "Squeezie" bottle, which can be boiled unlike standard plastic nasal lavage bottles, and Xclear sinus wash which has xylitol in addition to standard salt.
But I am starting to get the hang of it. And cleaning my respiratory passages with salt solution twice a day...actually nice.
Allegedly all this stuff is good for normal people too, and reduces common respiratory infections like colds. So yeah, I recommend it, although I can't imagine anyone being willing to expend the effort if they don't have a debilitating lung disease.
Allegedly all this stuff is good for normal people too, and reduces common respiratory infections like colds.
I've heard this too.
But I've had water up my nose while swimming enough times to be absolutely determined never to subject myself to the same on purpose.
I don't care how "good for me" it's supposed to be.

The lead-off track from Kylie’s second album “Enjoy Yourself”, “Hand On Your Heart” was a UK Chart Topper in May 1989 and made the top 10 in Australia, Finland, France, Ireland, Spain and Switzerland. The video was shot in Kylie’s home city of Melbourne and was directed by Chris Langman.
The Stock Aitken Waterman-penned song was covered by Jose Gonzalez in 2004 for his “Stay In The Shade” EP.
Lyrics:
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
That we're through, ooh
Oh, put your hand on your heart
Hand on your heart
Well it's one thing 2 fall in love
But another 2 make it last
I thought that we were just beginning
And now you say we're in the past
Oh, look me in the eye
And tell me we are really through
You know it's one thing 2 say you love me
But another 2 mean it from the heart
And if you don't intend 2 see it through
Why did we ever start
Oh, I want to hear you tell me
you don't want my love
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
It's all over
I won't believe it till you
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
That we're through, ooh
Oh, put your hand on your heart
Hand on your heart
They like 2 talk about 4 ever
But most people never get the chance
Do you want to lose our love 2gether
Do you find a new romance
Oh, I want to hear you tell me
you don't want my love
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
It's all over
I won't believe it till you
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
That we're through, ooh
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
It's all over
I won't believe it till you
Put your hand on your heart and tell me
That we're through, ooh
Oh, put your hand on your heart
Hand on your heart
Hand on your heart
(Hand on your heart)
Hand on your heart
Oh, look me in the eye
And tell me we are really through

RFK Jr. Declares War on the Medical Journal Cartel
RFK Jr. stated:
“We're probably going to stop publishing in the Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and those other journals because they're all corrupt. And even the heads of those journals, like Marcia Angell, who for 20 years was head of the New England Journal of Medicine, says that we no longer are a science journal. We are a vessel for pharmaceutical propaganda.”

I've been doing a lot of thinking around the nature of trust. I received the highly beneficial advice to think over who the most trustworthy people actually are, in my life. A diagram that looks like a bullseye was drawn, and I was invited to fill in actual names of people I know - where do they belong within the rings of the bullseye? The people in the middle are the most trustworthy, and the outermost rings are where the least trustworthy names go.
It was difficult to decide who's name belonged in which ring of the bullseye. So I assigned numbers to the rings of the bullseye. 1 was in the middle, 9 was right outside the bullseye. I then made a list of all the people I knew. I assigned them all numbers, then thought over the numbers, occasionally changing a number a little more or less.
When I was finished, I described the meaning of all the numbers, 1 through 9. This labeling made the most sense to me, to give more meaning to these numbers. Here they are:
1. Deep trust. Someone who totally accepts you as you are.
2. Someone who wouldn't betray you, has affinity with you, but you can't say they totally accept you as you are. They'd like to see you change.
3. A friend with a solid character, but affinity? Maybe.
4. A "fair-weather friend".
5. Any random stranger on the street. No positive or negative to speak of; still undefined and mysterious. No basis of judgement yet.
6. Negativity starts here, but it's very subtle and insidious; well hidden. Psychological predation and deception begins here. Plays mind games. Wants to come out looking better than you. Is certainly a "frenemy" or perhaps even worse, wants to turn you into a "flying monkey". A 6 has the mind of a perfect salesman or ambassador. Uses a lot of paltering; deceptive framing of everything. Plays on emotions a lot, seldom facts, unless they fit a narrative.
7. Corrupt. Has a mind of a racketeer.
8. Sketchy. Criminality begins here.
9. Predator. DANGEROUS

There are 5 legal statuses of Palestinians: 1948 Palestinians, Jerusalem Palestinians, West Bank Palestinians, Gaza Palestinians and Palestinian refugees. 5 different legal statuses. Null status for Gaza and the West Bank, i.e. they have no rights and live alongside people who invade them and have every right. If you call that a democracy, then I don't know what value to attach to the words. Free elections are not enough to be a democracy.
We often tend to believe that free elections make for democracy. Democracy, from the Greek "dêmos" (people) and kratós (power), should give power to the people. This has never been the case.
Those running for office are very wealthy and supported by the bourgeoisie and the billionaire media. In short, a dark masquerade, whether in Israel, France or the USA.
