La comparaison est stupide c’est vrai mais ses idées sont intolérables !
Joanne Rowling a tellement honte d’être une femme qu’elle cache soigneusement son prénom dans son J.K. Rowling…et parfois se nomme Robert Galbraith.
Est-elle trans ? cela explique peut-être sa guerre anti-trans…Elle a l’air très “féminine” mais n’est-ce pas une façon comme une autre de cacher son mal-être.
On voit bien des sourds ou des sourdes faire en sorte qu’on ne voit pas leur handicap, des homos qui vivent en couple hétéro pour cacher leur homosexualité, des personnes racisées qui sont racistes avec ceux et celles qui leur ressemblent…
Vouloir être dans la " norme" et acceptée est peut-être son but ! Elle était pauvre, maintenant elle est milliardaire, a-t-elle un complexe d’infériorité ?

Rima Hassan was abducted by Israel in an act of piracy aboard the Madleen, and is now in hunger strike together Brazilian activist Thiago Avila in protest against their illegal detention.

Because the storming of the Madleen was a breach of international law in the first place Israel now tries to cover the fact of acting unjustly by giving the procedure a legal face forcing the kidnapped activists to sign expulsion papers.

Not only, but especially that Riam is a member of European Parliament
the so called value based European Union has to act decisively against this agression of the Israeli government keeping a democratically elected MEP based on its own breach of justice.

That the official organs of the EU-administration remain silent shows once again that they are complicit with anything Israel does even if it is directed against their own citicens and parlamentarians.

First ever upgrade issue - lost zwave controller

I've been running Home Assistant for about a year now and always installed every update as soon as it's released and never had any issues at all.

Yesterday some time in either the zwave js 15.6.0 or core 2025.6.0 update (I am too complacent and did them both in quick succession without testing anything) I lost my Zooz 800 zwave controller. Reloading HA didn't bring it back. I had unplug and replug the Zooz USB stick and then reload again.

Not a big deal, just sharing FYI.

I like to believe we are the aspirants of a new social contract.

In general, the idea that we are "achieving wonders" is the glamour of technological development -- humanity desperately needs a native wonder at the glory of existence. The alternative is to require ever increasing astonishment. However his goals are aligned with mine:

Solve the alignment problem, meaning that we can robustly guarantee that we get AI systems to learn and act towards what we collectively really want over the long-term


we can do this by human-focused efforts paired with the mild charm of AI. It is a wonder, for sure, but that needs to be tempered by a holistic appreciation of the world. Otherwise our constant indecency will have no basis for AI alignment: we are the change we want to see in the world, for good or ill.

Then focus on making superintelligence cheap, widely available, and not too concentrated with any person, company, or country. Society is resilient, creative, and adapts quickly. If we can harness the collective will and wisdom of people, then although we’ll make plenty of mistakes and some things will go really wrong, we will learn and adapt quickly and be able to use this technology to get maximum upside and minimal downside.


we definitely need to get away from "harnessing people's {anything}" language, but this is essentially what I believe too. It's a shame that the ruling class still subscribes to the hegemonic idea of cultural influence: true influence comes from promoting the best, at the cost determined by authentic evaluation, otherwise values like selflessness will remain ever in doubt. Where there is no basis for belief, there can be no cultural development, and then how can we speak of alignment.

La décision de réduire le nombre d’employés de l’ambassade américaine en Irak, à Bahreïn et au Koweït est un indicateur important, mais ses soldats en Irak et en Syrie sont plus importants que le personnel de l’ambassade.
Une attaque israélienne alors que les négociations américano-iraniennes sont en cours semble peu probable, à moins qu’elle ne survienne dans le cadre d’un accord tacite faisant suite au désespoir tacite des Américains de parvenir à un accord.
