However, #LarryJohnson reported prior to the attack that the #US would be directly #involved in it.


#DonaldTrump apparently has decided to attack Iran. Mark this date. It is the beginning of the end of the Trump Presidency. Trump has been persuaded that the Iranian air defense is weak and that a US bombing run will eliminate any chance that Iran can build a nuclear device. He has been a victim of lies. He will shortly discover, if these attacks take place, that Iran retains a significant capability to shoot down US aircraft. In fact, I fully expect Iran will capture and put on display several US air force officers in the next week.


#Simplicius is dubious that Israel or the USA can even reach the #nuclear #sites that #Israel is seeking to destroy: In short, Iran’s underground nuclear infrastructure is now too deep, too complex, and too protected to be taken out militarily.

My take is that Israel is going it alone with the expectation that if #Iran hammers them hard enough and looks like it is winning, #AIPAC will be able to exert enough #pressure on #PresidentTrump to force the #US #military to #intervene and rescue them from the consequences of their own actions.

We should not/cannot scroll past today's news of Israel's latest unprovoked aggressions towards other nations (i.e bombings of residential areas in Iran and Lebanon), along with images of Israel's increasingly horrific attacks on civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Witnessing unending waves of crimes against humanity that apartheid Israel is committing deserves a "fuck Israel' at the very least. I know that won't stop this murderous state, but each voice adds to the growing wave of opposition/resistance.

"Agentic" AI has Sabine Hossenfelder worried. AI worms? AI prompt injection? AI enabling hackers to find security vulnerabilities? AI emailing law enforcement and the FDA if it doesn't like your line of questioning? AI blackmailing users to prevent itself from being taken offline? AI models exchanging messages of spiritual bliss? Maybe that one wouldn't be so bad.

I just worry that a codebase I work on will get bugs in it I don't know about. Or security holes.

This is the 100 year anniversary of humans having an idea of what the heck the sun and all the stars actually are. If you had asked a leading astronomer in 1925 what the sun was, they would say that it's basically the same as Earth, but very hot.

In Cecilia Payne's doctoral thesis she was the first to say, from spectral data, that the sun was overwhelmingly made of hydrogen and helium.

It was later described as "the most brilliant PhD thesis ever written in astronomy".

Finished @pluralistic 's "The Masque of the Red Death" in his "_Radicalized_ anthology. All in one sitting which is unusual for me; I was surprisingly invested in the story.

Again, good writing style and good story. I found the development of Graciela at the end to be too fairytale-ish or altruistic to be realistic, but I am a cynic.

Turned the last page with high anticipation to read the ending and the page was blank! Very nicely done! That was some master craftmanship.

Highly recommended.

Got it working again with a replacement power adapter... but only with the secondary USB-C port in the dock connector, not the primary charging port.

The Thunderbolt firmware issue probably took out the main charging port. It doesn't work as a charger, but does work as a USB port and recognized the USB ethernet adapter I plugged in.

I also updated BIOS and firmware with the Lenovo System Update utility.

Today I will be cleaning and testing a ThinkPad T490s laptop. The owner thinks the DC jack may be broken, but I am not sure yet that is the problem.

I will try with another power adapter to check to see if the charger is the problem.

This T490s is not the normal flat black color, but a steel grey color.
