Motorcycles should be banned entirely

There's no good reason for them to be on the road. Consider the following:

  • They're extremely loud and cause noise pollution
  • They're very dangerous on the road and have high accident rates
  • They're bad for the environment and cause air pollution
  • They're extremely inefficient as they can only carry 1-2 people max
  • They can't carry cargo
  • They're dangerous for pedestrians
  • They're very demanding to operate
  • They're virtually useless in the winter when there's snow, ice, and hail
  • The people who tend to drive them tend to be assholes who don't respect road laws

People complain about cars all the time, and while our car dependency is definitely a big issue that we need to address, cars still have a lot utility. Motorcycles on the other hand? Not really. I think getting rid of them once and for all is good way to immediately make our roads safer, simplify traffic, and open up a pathway to move away from cars.

in reply to Gorilladrums

Motorcycles get much better mileage than gas cars. Most cars on the road carry only a single person during Rush Hour. Motorcycles create much less pollution and traffic in those situations. A typical motorcycle tends to get double the fuel economy of a typical gas car. A gas car only comes out ahead if you carpool with more than 2 people, which almost nobody does.

As a pedestrian, getting hit by a motorcycle going 30 km/h is much is much less lethal than being hit by a car going 30 km/h. the amount of kinetic energy is a fraction of that of a car

At least in my area, motorcyclists are on average safer drivers than BMWs or Teslas, probably even safer than average. At least they bother to signal most of the time.

You have some points but some of your arguments are totally untrue.

Yeah, Well...CNN IS FAKE NEWS, and that's all I have to say about that.

"Iran has reportedly rejected a ceasefire between itself and Israel, claiming that it did not receive “any ceasefire proposal” after President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries.

A “senior Iranian official” told CNN that “Iran would continue to fight until it achieves lasting peace.” The official added that it “would view remarks from Israel” and the United States as being a “deception.”"

Why High-Rise Projects in UAE and Saudi Arabia Depend on Large Boom Pumps

The unprecedented vertical expansion across Gulf cities has created unique concrete placement challenges that only large boom pumps can solve. In Dubai's Downtown district and Riyadh's new financial hubs, construction schedules demand continuous concrete pours at heights exceeding 60 stories—a logistical impossibility without the reach and precision of modern concrete boom pump technology. These mechanical giants have become the circulatory system of high-rise construction, delivering the lifeblood of concrete exactly where and when needed, at volumes that keep ambitious projects on their breakneck timelines.

The region's extreme climate adds another layer of complexity that boom pumps uniquely address. With ambient temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C and humidity levels fluctuating dramatically, concrete placement windows shrink while performance demands increase. Large boom pumps overcome these challenges through climate-adapted hydraulics and intelligent placement strategies that maintain concrete integrity from truck to formwork. Their role has evolved from convenient accessory to mission-critical equipment in the Gulf's race to the sky.

Engineering Advantages for Megatall Structures

Vertical Reach Capabilities

Modern boom pumps servicing Gulf high-rises feature Z-fold boom configurations reaching 60-70 meters vertically, allowing single-position placement for entire floor plates. The latest models incorporate high-pressure pumping systems (up to 230 bar) that maintain consistent flow rates at extreme heights—a necessity when placing 10,000+ cubic meter foundations or continuous shear walls.

Precision Placement Technology

Laser-guided boom positioning systems achieve millimeter accuracy when navigating dense rebar cages and complex formwork. This precision prevents the cold joints and honeycombing that plague manual placement methods. Some pumps now integrate with BIM models, automatically adjusting boom trajectories to avoid clashes with protruding steel elements.

Economic Imperatives Driving Adoption

Schedule Compression Benefits

Tower projects in the Gulf typically face liquidated damages exceeding $100,000 per day for delays. Boom pumps in Saudi Arabia enable 24/7 concrete operations, cutting placement times by 60% compared to traditional methods. Their ability to pour 500+ cubic meters per day keeps critical path activities on schedule despite tight construction sequencing.

Labor Optimization

A single boom pump crew replaces 15-20 manual laborers, a crucial advantage in markets facing skilled labor shortages. The reduced manpower requirements also minimize site congestion—a significant benefit when working on constrained urban plots where multiple trades compete for space.

Climate-Adapted Performance Features

Heat Mitigation Systems

Gulf-specification boom pumps incorporate refrigerated hydraulic oil coolers and UV-resistant hoses that maintain performance in extreme heat. Some models feature shaded operator cabins with climate control, ensuring precision operation even during midday summer pours.

Dust and Storm Protection

Sealed electrical components and automatic moisture sensors allow operation during frequent dust storms. Advanced units include real-time concrete monitoring that adjusts pumping parameters when sand content in the air affects mix consistency.

The dependence on large concrete pumps in UAE and Saudi high-rise construction reflects more than convenience—it represents the only viable solution meeting the region's unique combination of scale, speed, and environmental challenges. As towers grow taller and schedules more aggressive, these machines will continue evolving, incorporating AI-driven placement algorithms and alternative power systems to maintain their indispensable role in shaping the Gulf's futuristic skylines. Their value proposition extends beyond concrete delivery—they are enabling technologies turning architectural visions into structural reality.

FACT-CHECKING IS PROPAGANDA
Factcheck.org is one of fecesbook's current "fact-checkers...
here is a little research on them...and it is obvious that they have a globalist slant...

Fact Checking FactCheck.org
FactCheck.org is run by the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC), a political and media thinktank started in 1993 by Walter and Leonore Annenberg under the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania (ASCUP) and funded by the multibillion dollar Annenberg Foundation. The current president of ASCUP is Amy Gutmann.
Walter Annenberg
Walter Annenberg (1908-2002) was the son of Moses Annenberg, a newspaper businessman that purchased the Philadelphia Inquirer and was indicted in what was at the time called "the single greatest case of tax fraud in U.S. history".
Walter attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, but he dropped out before attaining a degree.
After his father's death in 1942, he took over his father's business and greatly expanded it, buying up rival newspapers and even buying up radio and TV stations. He started new publications, such as TV Guide and Seventeen Magazine, and it published Playboy Magazine.
In 1951 he married Leonore Cohn, niece of Harry Cohn, the founder and president of Columbia pictures until his retirement. It was said that Harry Cohn exchanged sexual favors for employment with actresses and was said to keep an autographed photo of Benito Mussolini on his desk. According to biographer Michael Fleming, Cohn forced Curly Howard of the Stooges to keep working after suffering a series of minor strokes, which likely contributed to a further deterioration of Howard's health and his eventual retirement and early death.
In 1966, Annenberg used The Inquirer to cast doubt on the candidacy of Democrat Milton Shapp for governor of Pennsylvania. Shapp was highly critical of the proposed merger of the Pennsylvania Railroad with the New York Central Railroad and was pushing the US Interstate Commerce Commission to prevent it from occurring. Annenberg, who was the biggest individual stockholder of the Pennsylvania Railroad, wanted to see the merger succeed (which it did) and he was frustrated with Shapp's opposition. During a press conference, an Inquirer reporter asked Shapp if he had ever been a patient in a mental hospital. Never having been in one, Shapp simply said "no." The next day, a five-column front page Inquirer headline read, "Shapp Denies Mental Institution Stay." Shapp and others have attributed his loss of the election to Annenberg's newspaper.
Amy Gutmann
Amy Gutmann is a "political scientist" from Princeton University and claims to be an egalitarian from the school the school of thought of Liberalism.
Her contributions to political "science" are her theories on what she calls "deliberative democracy" and on "group identity". In her 2018 University of Pennsylvania Commencement speech, "Think Uniquely, Stand United," she said that ". . . what makes us unique and what unites us are not starkly opposed. Uniqueness and unity are the twin pillars of a strong pluralism. We thrive when we combine unity of shared values with our unique perspectives on life. It has never been more important that we think uniquely while we stand united."
From 2005 to 2009, Gutmann served on the National Security Higher Education Advisory Board, a committee that advises the FBI on national security issues relating to academia. In 2009, Barack Obama appointed Gutmann chair of the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, and reappointed her in early 2012. Gutmann is a member of the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF), which convenes at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. She was also among the leaders of a select group of presidents of research universities throughout the world that advised the United Nations Secretary-General on a range of global issues, including academic freedom, mass migration, international development, and the social responsibilities of universities, call the Global Colloquium of University Presidents.
Her husband, Michael Doyle, graduated from Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida and is a professor at Columbia University. He was also a member of the External Research Advisory Committee of the UNHCR and the Advisory Committee of the Lessons-Learned Unit of the Department of Peace-Keeping Operations (UN). He is a member of Council of Foreign Relations, New York.

In addition, the "fact checkers" known as "Science Feedback" and Health Feedback" are also heavily funded by the Annenberg Public Policy Center.

Eat steak & eggs for breakfast and you're a weirdo.
Drink 46 grams of sugar (Starbucks Frappuccino) for breakfast and you're normal.
Make it make sense...NOT!

Never has it become more apparent than it has these past couple of years that you can be standing next to another person and be existing in two completely alternate realities.

Everything is upside down and back to front and inside out because we haven't built society for purpose; we've built it to protect a class of obscenely wealthy and powerful people who contribute nothing of worth, and everything else has to be built around preserving their wealth

That excerpt alone makes this article worth sharing. 👍

a third thing, too: which is that Iran had experienced a revolution and moved ahead, away from church/state merger, but the US did a counter revolution and put a religiously extreme government back in power.

Of course that indicts more than 1 American regime, as more than 1 regime presided over manipulating those "brave Mujahideen fighters", which gets a lot more messy.

Reminder that, once investigators got past Elon’s tactics of hiding real driving and accident data, #Tesla cars were found to be the most dangerous and lethal cars on US roads.

But I’m sure the new taxis will be great.
