The report, called "Thimerosal as a Vaccine Preservative" published on the #CDC website on Tues, is to be presented by Lyn Redwood, a fmr leader of the #AntiVaccine group Children's Health Defense.

cdc.gov/acip/downloads/slides-…

It makes reference to a study called "Low-level neonatal thimerosal exposure: Long-term consequences in the brain," published in the journal Neurotoxicology in 2008, & co-authored by UC Davis Professor Emeritus Robert Berman.

But acc/to Berman, "it's not making reference to a study I published or carried out."

Berman said he co-authored a similarly named study in a different journal - Toxicological Sciences - that came to different conclusions than those suggested by Redwood.

"We did not examine the effects of thimerosal in microglia... I do not endorse this misrepresentation of the research," he said.

Reuters is the first to report on the inaccurate citation from Redwood's planned presentation.

@rewarp 97% of Israeli Jews are non-Semitic, they are Ashkenazi Jews, before they came to the German Rhineland (Ashkan in Hebrew) they were Baal and Marduk worshipers, child sacrifice in the form of tossing infants onto a red hot alter and allowing them to sizzle to death was part of their routine. When they came to Germany, the locals, understandably, disapproved of these practices and told them they had a choice of choosing a new religion, and amongst their options were Islam, Christianity, or Judaism, and of course they chose Judaism so they could claim to be God's chosen and continue their murderous ways and that pretty much brings you up to today.

Every genocide is different.

Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestine has been going on since the 1920s; all Israelis know Netanyahu's aim.

1930s Nazism, in contrast, tried to keep its genocide under wraps for as long as it could.

The 1920s Zionists learned from earlier imperialists & settler-colonists, not from Hitler.

Hitler, too, learnt from earlier genocides.

NEW: Government contractor agrees to Pay $6.5 Million to the DOJ for Fraud

Washington River Protection Solutions reportedly fraudulently overcharged the U.S. Dept of Energy for millions of dollars in labor hours.

This is not the first time that WRPS has settled allegations of committing fraud. In 2017 they paid $5.2 million to resolve allegations that it knowingly submitted false claims to DOE for overtime and failure to comply with its internal audit requirements.

How do these companies STILL get contracts after committing FRAUD?!

This is the tip of the iceberg. The fraud runs rampant with government contractors.

Upgrading an Old Dell Video

Got an old Dell PC that I have setup dual-boot Linux/Win 10, principally used for A/V but was unable to connect to big screen because it had no HDMI port. Attempted to put a newer video card in it that I had lying around but it took more power than the 375 watt power supply could provide. And then recent kernel upgrades broke nouveau in a way that the sync rate no longer worked with the monitor. So I found an old ATI Radeon card at Re-PC for a whole of $19 that was light enough in power requirements to work in this machine but which had HDMI so I can connect it to the television. And as a bonus, the device drivers in Linux work correctly with it so it's displaying good under Linux again. This machine is one of the early dual core Athlon CPU based machines yet it provides adequate performance for it's function. The power supply is only 375 watts but is a non-standard form factor so I can't easily replace it. At one point I was just going to move the whole thing to a new case, but then discovered the motherboard is laid out backwards for an ATX so that was a no-go. Gotta love Dell engineering. But it just keeps on ticking.

That probably won't work unless Friendica changes how it federates content to wafrn. Like most other platforms only the plain text is sent, the <span> gets stripped out. If I recall the <span> does go through to Mastodon and Tumblr but the postbox class gets stripped out.

But I had the opposite problem with Diaspora and Hubzilla where the raw BBcode or Markdown was getting sent.

You could talk to the Friendica devs about trying to get the formatted HTML sent, then you'd just need the postbox stylesheet on the wafrn server to display them properly.

Advancing Plastic Waste Management Through Pyrolysis

Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time. Globally, millions of tons of plastic waste are produced every year, a large portion of which ends up in landfills or the natural environment. Recycling efforts have been slow to address the vast quantities of plastic waste generated, often due to challenges in traditional recycling methods. However, pyrolysis technology is emerging as a promising solution for the sustainable recycling of plastics, offering both environmental and economic benefits.

The Pyrolysis Process: A Game Changer in Plastic Waste Management

Pyrolysis involves the thermal decomposition of organic materials, including plastics, at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen. The plastic pyrolysis machine breaks down complex plastic polymers into simpler hydrocarbons, yielding valuable products such as pyrolysis oil, carbon black, and combustible gases. The key advantage of pyrolysis is that it can handle a wide range of plastic types, including those that are not typically recyclable through conventional methods, such as mixed plastics or plastic waste contaminated with food or chemicals.

Unlike mechanical recycling, which often requires plastics to be cleaned and sorted, pyrolysis is a more flexible and scalable process. It can process plastics directly without the need for extensive pre-treatment, reducing the time, energy, and resources typically associated with conventional recycling operations. The flexibility of the process makes it a suitable solution for tackling the plastic waste crisis at scale.

Environmental Benefits of Plastic Pyrolysis

Plastic pyrolysis offers numerous environmental benefits compared to traditional waste management techniques. First and foremost, plastic into fuel machine significantly reduces the volume of plastic waste that ends up in landfills or the ocean. The conversion of plastic waste into reusable products prevents the accumulation of non-biodegradable materials, which would otherwise persist in the environment for centuries.

Moreover, pyrolysis helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with plastic waste disposal. When plastic waste is incinerated or left to decompose in landfills, it releases harmful emissions such as carbon dioxide and methane, both of which contribute to global warming. Pyrolysis, however, captures and converts these emissions into useful byproducts, reducing the overall carbon footprint of plastic waste management.

Additionally, pyrolysis helps minimize the environmental degradation caused by plastic pollution. By converting plastics into valuable resources, the process reduces the need for raw materials used in the production of new plastics, helping to alleviate pressure on natural resources. This shift toward a circular economy model – where waste is minimized, and resources are continuously reused – has the potential to reshape the way industries approach plastic production and disposal.

Economic Potential of Plastic Pyrolysis

Beyond its environmental benefits, pyrolysis offers significant economic potential. The pyrolysis plant can generate valuable products that have a broad range of industrial applications. For instance, the oil produced through the pyrolysis process can be refined into fuels, such as diesel or gasoline, that can be used to generate energy or power vehicles. This makes pyrolysis an attractive option for regions or industries seeking to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.

Furthermore, the carbon black produced during pyrolysis is widely used in industries such as rubber, construction, and electronics, adding additional value to the process. The combustible gases released during pyrolysis can also be captured and used as fuel to power the pyrolysis plant itself, reducing operational costs and improving the overall efficiency of the system.

In a market increasingly driven by sustainability goals, adopting pyrolysis technology can also offer businesses a competitive advantage. Companies that invest in advanced waste-to-energy technologies like pyrolysis can tap into growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly products and services. In addition, governments around the world are offering incentives for industries that adopt green technologies, further increasing the attractiveness of pyrolysis as an investment.

Pyrolysis: A Path Toward Sustainable Plastic Recycling

As global plastic production continues to rise, traditional recycling systems are becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of plastic waste. Pyrolysis provides a sustainable solution to this problem, offering a method to recycle plastic waste into useful products while reducing environmental harm.

The scalability and efficiency of pyrolysis make it an ideal technology for large-scale plastic waste processing. The flexibility of the process allows it to be adapted to a variety of feedstocks, from consumer plastic waste to industrial plastic byproducts. As the technology continues to mature, it is likely to play a central role in the global effort to reduce plastic pollution and promote a circular economy.

In addition to its environmental and economic benefits, pyrolysis also aligns with global trends toward energy transition and sustainability. As the world moves away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy, pyrolysis offers a promising alternative that can generate energy from waste materials, helping to bridge the gap between traditional energy sources and cleaner, more sustainable solutions.

Driving the Future of Plastic Waste Recycling

The promise of pyrolysis as a solution for plastic waste management is clear. It offers a comprehensive approach to recycling that addresses both environmental concerns and the growing demand for valuable resources. By transforming plastic waste into usable products like oil, carbon black, and gases, pyrolysis presents an opportunity to close the loop on plastic waste and create a more sustainable and circular economy.

As the technology continues to evolve, and as governments and businesses increasingly prioritize sustainability, pyrolysis has the potential to become a cornerstone of global plastic waste management strategies. The transition to a more sustainable, efficient, and profitable method of recycling plastics will require investment, innovation, and collaboration across industries. However, with the right technological advancements and regulatory support, pyrolysis could reshape the future of plastic recycling and play a pivotal role in mitigating the plastic pollution crisis.

Search-Friendly Web Design: Core Tactics for Better Visibility

Design and SEO work together. Let's break down the essential tactics for a website that ranks well—straightforward, no jargon.

Overhauling your website is a significant step. You're likely thinking about style, branding, or interactive elements. But here's a critical truth: even the most beautiful site will falter if it's not built with SEO in mind.

Design and SEO work together. Let's break down the essential tactics for a website that ranks well—straightforward, no jargon.

Speed Is Critical

A slow site is a lost opportunity. Visitors abandon it. Google notices. Your rankings drop.

Poor performance often comes from heavy code, large images, or unnecessary add-ons. A talented website designer will fix this—compressing files, cleaning the backend, and keeping things lean.

Speed isn't optional. It's a must.

Mobile Is the Focus

More people use phones than computers to browse. That's not a shift—it's the reality. A site that struggles on mobile is already falling behind.

This goes beyond a responsive design. Buttons should be clickable. Text must be clear without zooming. Forms need to function without frustration.

It should feel seamless. If it doesn't, users exit, and Google sees it.

Simple Structure Wins

Your website should make sense at first glance. Visitors should immediately understand where they are, what you do, and how to move forward—no confusion needed.

This clarity also helps search engines scan and rank your content. Logical organization and clear labels boost visibility.

Avoid messiness. Skip navigation tricks that look cool but confuse. Simplicity performs best.

Content Is the Core

Design grabs attention. Content holds it.

Search engines prioritize meaningful, clear information. Every page should have a purpose, and that purpose should be easy to spot. No need for keyword overload or stiff writing—just talk like you're explaining to a friend.

For instance, if you offer web design services, describe what you provide, who it's for, and how to begin. No filler. No vague buzzwords.

Real content, for real people.

Technical Details Matter

You don't need coding expertise, but a few essentials are crucial.

Each page needs a clear title and a brief meta description for search results. Images should include alt text for accessibility and SEO. Your site must run on HTTPS for security. A sitemap ensures search engines can navigate your content.

These are the hidden factors that drive success. A reliable web design agency manages them without making it your problem.

Pop-Ups Can Hurt

We've all clicked a link and been hit with a full-screen pop-up. It's irritating. It also damages rankings, especially on mobile.

Google views intrusive pop-ups as user-unfriendly. If you use them, keep them minimal. Or better, rethink their necessity.

Build for Users, Not Just Search Engines

Search engines matter, but people are the priority.

Strong design leads visitors through their journey, solves their problems, and feels trustworthy. When you focus on users, rankings often improve naturally.

Test this by letting someone explore your site without guidance. Watch their behavior. You'll learn more than from any SEO theory.

Before You Choose a Designer...

Not all designers prioritize SEO. Ask tough questions. Don't just ask about looks—ask how they handle speed, mobile performance, and site organization. Ask what they do to ensure discoverability.

A good website designer integrates SEO from the outset.

Final Takeaway

Design and SEO aren't separate challenges. They're part of the same mission: delivering your content to the right people efficiently.

When planning your redesign, focus on this. Build for users. Keep it fast, clear, and straightforward. Let the design enhance the content, not dominate it. And if you're hiring, pick someone who gets this.

Your site shouldn't just be attractive—it should be found.
