Dass sich der Wind hierzulande dreht, jetzt, wo Israel in Westasien auf der Siegerstraße ist und mit Trump zusätzlichen Rückenwind erhalten wird, erscheint mir inzwischen unwahrscheinlich. Die Dimension des Grauens und die wachsende Zahl stichhaltiger Nachweise für das genozidale Vorgehen Israels in Gaza sowie die im Schatten dessen erfolgende Expansion des mörderischen Siedlerkolonialismus in der WestBank - seit 10/7 über 800 getötete Palästinenser:innen - scheint keinerlei Auswirkungen auf die gegen palästinasolidarische Menschen gerichtete Gesinnungskriminalisierung zu haben.

It seems that our rulers, here in the 'liberal' West, have homed in on a new way of turning a person into a non-person.
Here is a man, Hüseyin Doğru, a German journalist (of Turkish origins, but not a dual citizen) whom the EU authorities have found a novel, immensely cruel, way of punishing for his coverage of, and views on, Palestine.
The German authorities learned a lesson from my case. Not wishing to be answerable in court for any ban on pro-Palestinian voices (similar to the court case I am dragging them through currently), they found another way: A direct sanction by the EU utilising some hitherto unused directive, one introduced at the beginning of the Ukraine war, that allows Brussels to sanction any citizen of the EU it deems to be working for Russian interests. Clinging to the argument that Hüseyin’s website/podcast used to be shown also on Ruptly (among other platforms), they are using this directive aimed at an ‘anti-Russian asset’ to destroy a journalist who dared oppose the Palestinian genocide.
In practice, this means that Hüseyin’s bank account is frozen; that if you or I were to give him cash to buy groceries or make rent then we would be considered his accomplices and subject to similar sanctions; it also means that if he were a civil servant, he would be fired; if he were a student he would be expelled from his university; if he received a pension it would be suspended; if he received any social benefit it would be frozen. It also, astonishingly, means that he cannot leave Germany!
Last, but definitely not least, it means that Hüseyin cannot sue his government for turning him into a non-person but only challenge the European Commission in Brussels – where he is not even allowed to go!
Need I say more? Is it not abundantly clear that we live, today, in a nominally liberal Europe where, in a jiffy, your political and human rights can be rescinded, including your right to challenge your government in a court of law?

Les autorités allemandes ont tiré les leçons de mon cas. Ne souhaitant pas avoir à répondre devant les tribunaux de toute interdiction des voix pro-palestiniennes (à l'instar du procès que je leur intente actuellement), elles ont trouvé un autre moyen : une sanction directe de l'UE utilisant une directive jusqu'alors inutilisée, introduite au début de la guerre en Ukraine, qui permet à Bruxelles de sanctionner tout citoyen de l'UE qu'elle estime travailler pour les intérêts russes. S'accrochant à l'argument selon lequel le site web/podcast de Hüseyin était également diffusé sur Ruptly (entre autres plateformes), elles utilisent cette directive visant les « actifs anti-russes » pour détruire un journaliste qui a osé s'opposer au génocide palestinien.
Concrètement, cela signifie que le compte bancaire de Hüseyin est gelé ; que si vous ou moi lui donnions de l'argent pour acheter des provisions ou payer son loyer, nous serions considérés comme ses complices et soumis à des sanctions similaires ; cela signifie également que s'il était fonctionnaire, il serait licencié ; s'il était étudiant, il serait expulsé de son université ; s'il percevait une pension, celle-ci serait suspendue ; s'il percevait des prestations sociales, celles-ci seraient gelées. Cela signifie également, de manière étonnante, qu'il ne peut pas quitter l'Allemagne !
Enfin, et ce n'est pas le moins important, cela signifie que Hüseyin ne peut pas poursuivre son gouvernement pour l'avoir transformé en non-personne, mais seulement contester la Commission européenne à Bruxelles – où il n'est même pas autorisé à se rendre !
Dois-je en dire plus ? N'est-il pas évident que nous vivons aujourd'hui dans une Europe nominalement libérale où, en un clin d'œil, vos droits politiques et humains peuvent être révoqués, y compris votre droit de contester votre gouvernement devant un tribunal ?

Le nouveau récit qu’il veut nous faire gober, c’est celui-ci : « Imaginer qu’on puisse conserver le même niveau de prospérité en travaillant plutôt moins que nos voisins proches, c’est se raconter des histoires. Ce n’est pas très agréable et ce n’est certainement pas très populaire de dire aux gens que si on veut rester prospère, il va falloir travailler plus longtemps mais il n’empêche que c’est vrai. » C’est pourquoi il veut faire “en sorte qu’on travaille plus longtemps dans la semaine, dans l’année et peut-être dans la vie”. Ce potentiel candidat à la présidentielle “ressuscite” donc, nous dit BFM-TV, le “travailler plus pour gagner plus”.
Il s’agit bien de l’invocation d’un esprit, d’un mythe, ce slogan qui avait assuré la popularité de Nicolas Sarkozy en 2007 et qui depuis s’est révélé complètement mensonger : alors que le travail du dimanche, le travail de nuit et les heures supplémentaires ont été considérablement facilités et encouragés, le travail ne rapporte pas plus, au contraire. La répartition entre la rémunération du travail et celle du capital se fait de plus en plus au profit du second, c’est-à-dire des actionnaires, tandis que les salaires réels stagnent, du fait de l’inflation endémique. Dans la France de 2025, c’est l’héritage qui permet l’enrichissement, pas le travail. Les lois votées au prétexte du “travailler plus pour gagner plus” ont contribué à ce processus puisqu’elles ont réduit le prix du travail pour les possédants : moins de cotisations patronales, moins de contraintes et donc un travail moins cher pour eux, et moins rémunérateur pour nous. C’est le “faire travailler plus pour gagner plus” des patrons et des actionnaires.
Edouard Philippe veut aller plus loin en “multipliant les accords d’entreprise” qui portent sur l’augmentation du temps de travail. Les accords d’entreprise, c’est ce dispositif créé et développé sous Hollande, amélioré sous Macron, et qui permet à des entreprises, après du “dialogue social”, de faire choisir à leurs syndicats ou représentants du personnel des dispositions moins favorables à leur convention collective ou au code du travail. Pour y parvenir, certaines entreprises encouragent la création de sections syndicales avec des salariés qui leur sont favorables et vont passer en catimini des accords défavorables aux salariés…
Comme tous les politiques bourgeoisistes, Philippe justifie son désir de nous faire plus travailler par le fait que “nos proches voisins” travaillent, eux, davantage. Décryptage après décryptage, debunkage après désintox, ce cliché reste toujours aussi faux : en France, on travaille davantage qu’en Allemagne. D’abord parce que chez nous, la durée légale du travail est fixée à 35 heures par semaine, mais dans les faits, de nombreux salariés à temps plein effectuent des heures supplémentaires ou bénéficient de dispositifs d’aménagement du temps de travail qui les conduisent à travailler au-delà de ce seuil. Les personnes à temps plein travaillent donc davantage que les 35h théoriques mais en plus les personnes à temps partiel et les indépendants travaillent davantage. A l’année, on travaille en moyenne 1349 heures en Allemagne et 1490 en France, où l’on travaille davantage qu’en Suède, au Pays-bas, au Danemark… autant de pays qui sont systématiquement présentés comme des exemples de productivité. D’autres études prouvent la même chose, même si une façon tronquée de les présenter alimente le discours sur les Français paresseux : en ne prenant que les salariés à temps complet, et pas les indépendants et les temps partiels, la France “travaille moins” que l’Allemagne, par exemple.
Philippe ment, comme d’habitude, mais pour autant il n’y a pas de quoi être fier : le fait de beaucoup travailler n’est pas un indicateur qui devrait nous satisfaire. Car l’ex-Premier ministre dit aussi, énième mensonge, que “si on veut rester prospère, il va falloir travailler plus longtemps”. De quelle prospérité parle-t-il exactement ? Si c’est celle des actionnaires, il est évident que l’augmentation du temps de travail leur profite, parce qu’elle baisse systématiquement sa rémunération, et évite des recrutements, de la formation de nouveaux salariés, etc.
Mais pour nous, la majorité de la population, quels sont les effets de l’augmentation du temps de travail ?
Plus un politique dit “il ne faut pas raconter d’histoire”, “il faut tenir un discours de vérité”, plus il ment : il habille l’absence d’arguments macroéconomiques de son propos par des arguments d’autorité creux. Car rien ne tient dans le discours de Philippe, sauf un sous-bassement moral, voire moraliste, qui consiste à dire “il faut trimer davantage”. Aussi vieux que la bourgeoisie, cette “valeur travail” se fout des effets réels du travail sur notre économie, notre santé et donc notre “prospérité”. C’est un discours formaté pour des retraités aisés, cœur de cible électoral de Philippe comme de tous les autres, car électorat qui vote à coup sûr, et qui adore se plaindre des jeunes “qui ne veulent plus bosser” alors que ces retraités aisés – on ne parle pas des pauvres, qui sont nombreux – ont bénéficié du boom immobilier et de droits sociaux supérieurs aux nôtres. “Travailler plus” n’a que cet intérêt moral et idéologique.
Car la vérité, c’est qu’il ne faut pas se raconter d’histoire : avec le développement de l’intelligence artificielle, énormément de postes vont disparaître. Avec la catastrophe climatique, d’autres vont devoir être supprimés de nos vies : publicitaires, construction automobile, agroalimentaire néfaste pour la santé, travailleuses et travailleurs des stations de ski… d’autres seront créés pour dépolluer, reconstruire, cultiver, etc. Mais les prochaines décennies vont devoir comporter une réduction du temps de travail. Et ça tombe bien, car c’est aussi un progrès social, un progrès sanitaire, un grand bond en avant pour la véritable prospérité d’un pays. La retraite à 60 ans, et plus tôt pour certaines professions, n’est pas un doux rêve : c’est une nécessité économique et sanitaire. Tout comme les 32h hebdomadaires.

Car soyons précis sur ce que nous coûte le capital : selon les calculs de l’économiste Tibor Sarcey, entre 2000 et 2018, les actionnaires des entreprises françaises ont apporté 418 milliards d’euros à notre économie sous forme d’achat d’actions nouvelles, tandis que dans le même laps de temps, les entreprises ont reversé à leurs actionnaires 173 milliards d’euros via des rachats d’actions et leur ont distribué 614 milliards d’euros de dividendes nets. Les actionnaires ont ainsi représenté un coût net direct pour l’économie réelle de 369 milliards d’euros sur la période 2000-2018.
C’est en mettant fin à ce vol, ce panier percé, que nous allons pouvoir réduire le temps de travail en France comme ailleurs, et ainsi garantir à toutes et tous une véritable prospérité : celle de l’autonomie au travail, du partage des richesses produites et du temps libre.
