It's been over a year since gave up on Facebook and started dabbling in the Fediverse. After the initial excitement of talking to myself on two different Mastodon instances, trying out Pixelfed and PeerTube, and setting up this blog, i soon became bored because nobody i knew had yet come across to the distributed way of doing things.
And so i pretty much ignored the entire thing, until a few weeks ago when Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44bn and promptly set about to destroy it. Suddenly loads of my friends on the birdapp were talking about Mastodon, sharing their new identities even though they hadn't posted anything yet, and asking me what mine was.
So it felt like a good time to come back to it. I tidied up my Mastodon profile, added a verified link to my website, installed a new app: MetaText is so much nicer than the standard Mastodon app. And i sort of just started posting again.
Slowly and surely, some of my friends also started posting. I've had meaningful replies and conversations! Even mainstream media is now talking about Mastodon! It looks like this thing is actually happening for real. And it's all thanks to Elon Musk!

For this reason, authoritarians must first and foremost put forth an *image* of a strong state, because if the fictions--borders, nationality, the connection between state violence and justice--all are revealed for what they truly are, the people defect, and that's that.
When the state barks the loudest, it it then that it is truly at its weakest. A state whose foundations fictions are in good shape does not need to pontificate and perform, illustrating their pretend-strength, like an insect flashing its wings so it does not get eaten.
The western nation states are weak. The fictions that underpin their dominance are currently in hospice. As such, they will get very violent, and then they will fall.
If you think about why borders are important to fascists like Knockoff Mussolini, it's because in the absence of a wall, anyone and everyone can see that a border is a falsity. If you've ever seen a land border, you know that it is no different from one side of a street or another, no different from one chunk of desert or forest from any other.
A border does not exist except in the minds of those who have accepted it as truth, without questioning. A border is not different from a national identity: a falsity, but an important one if you're trying to pit one group against another so you can stay in power.

There is xclicker which is a flatpak app, but it only automate mouse clicks, but there is nothing for key presses, I am surprised I could not find anything on this, but is there any GUI for this? Also is this possible on a technical level (in flatpak especially, I dont know if apps can simulate key presses). I know of ydotool, but that uses root, also its not a gui

Dunno if it would meet your needs, but I've been using Input Remapper for binding macros to various key presses and mouse buttons under Wayland. It does prompt for root access, but it's a GUI. It supports any input method, as far as I can tell. It even supports my tablet.
I use it to bind stuff like hold(key(BTN_LEFT).wait(100)) to some button to repeatedly left click while I'm holding that button down.
