@nanook prolly wrong but so are you. ASM is only marginally (today) faster IF you bother to hand optimize it. Speed advantages for Asm, C, C++ and mostly any purely compiled language will depend on the compiler used and various setting options tweaked to be more optimal towards a given task. Abstraction is only slower in interpreted or VM runtime languages like Java or C#. Anything that outputs pure binary code that runs directly on the CPU is the same given the same compiler optimizations.

In the last couple of years, vendors have stepped up in providing account recovery and multi-factor authentications for our precious precious data. However something that bugs me is how fragile our MFA and recovery setups can be. Wanna fix it?
For one my online accounts I had multiple ways to authenticate the login process. ”If you forget your password, use your passkey”. Okay, so SMS was one of the options and it was selected for me, by default, since they had my number. But, I removed it from the list and chose a 2FA Authenticator app, instead. So, no SMS recovery for me, whenever my accounts offer alternatives.
Losing my mobile is already terrifying as with totp mfa I'm not even sure how I get back into anything, and all my backup keys are in a key vault, which needs my (lost) mobile to recover them!

iOS7 had a lot of issues but i appreciated the readability of it once it (eventually) settled down. Liquid glass does not look promising to me. If i can't read shit my phone is useless.
Why would they spend decades making ever higher resolution screens and then use that tech to make things deliberately blurry? I am also a progressive lens wearer and I will not be “upgrading” to anything with liquid glass.

I have good vision, don't need glasses/contacts or anything else, yet I STILL hate this modern trend towards blurring everything. I just don't get it. I like things to be clear. Even without glasses it's easier on the eyes!

I think the thing that chaps my ass more is the comments stating how the cops didn't do more on the first go through whenever they didn't have enough probable cause and the first report was only something of the basement. I've had a couple friends that worked with the EMS crew and I can appreciate a good dark sense of humor because sometimes life just is so fucked up you just gotta laugh at it somehow but after the fact is kind of a better time and with the proper company.
