For all the phases of the war, Palestinian factions (with Hamas as forefront) show a great ability on the negotiation tables, fighting diplomatically for the best possible future. Lemmy.ml is an instance run by admins who are hardcore tankies and will enforce their ideology on their instance through various means from allowing (and pushing it themselves) propaganda (Such as Russia being justified in some way to invade Ukraine) and known propaganda outlets (Like RT) to removing content on their instance critical of their favored authoritarian regimes such as Russia or China and even banning users for such speech or speech critical of them if it's off their instance (Just like the Reddit mods of ol!).
If it was just some random instance it would have been defederated from long ago like the rest of the "Tankie Triad" (Hexbear and Lemmygrad), but they've positioned lemmy.ml as the "flagship" instance and abused that position and influence to become large enough to keep other instances from defederating from them.
Which I believe is harmful to the Lemmy-verse's overall growth and outside reputation. I have seen it come up before on Reddit threads (and other testimonials from people who came back and tried it again) that "They tried Lemmy but it was a bunch of tankies and went back to Reddit"
I don't know about you, but I'd prefer Lemmy to not end up with the reputation for being "Tankie Central " or even worse "Voat 2.0".

Because individual blocks, be it for a user or instance, are not blocks. It's a barely functioning "mute", and is likely the way dessalines wants it since it was implemented this way 4 years ago and not a peep on fixing it since. Even now as they barrel towards a 1.0 release, nothing.
The only true block on Lemmy, is defederation or site bans (for individuals)
Even if it did work as expected, it still allows their toxic misinformation and propaganda to spread throughout the Threadiverse. Scaring away new users and making it look like we "accept" it because there's ever decreasing push back to it
.world has not defederated from Lemmy.ml, I really wish they would, being the largest it would be of huge boost to the health of the Threadiverse

Thanks for the heads up. I’m surprised that the support channel/community on .world doesn’t have a post requesting outright defederation from .ml. I’ve searched through nearly two years of posts there but found nothing substantial.
I don't think it was on the support comm, but they did respond on a thread about it once on why they don't defed from them like they did the other 2.
It boiled down to 3 things: big comms, official Lemmy support comms and the fact the devs rolled out instance blocking tools
The 1st one, I'm hopefully solving with my cross-posting and calls for boycotting, the third one is by calling attention to the fact that it doesn't work as one would think. Pretty sure everyone thought block meant block when it was being discussed.

Israel had wanted ten living captives released within a week of a ceasefire taking effect, while the new proposal would see eight released on the first day and the remaining two on day 50. Hamas has expressed concern that Israel would resume the war after retrieving its captives.
The proposal states that negotiations for a permanent ceasefire should be concluded during the 60-day truce, but, if necessary, “the temporary ceasefire may be extended.” It adds that the U.S., Egypt and Qatar “will ensure that serious negotiations continue for an additional period,” if necessary. Palestinian negotiators believe this language allows too much leeway for Israel to resume the military assault on #Gaza should it decide it no longer wants a ceasefire and instead to continue its war of annihilation and conquest.

Israeli newspaper Maariv: The current understandings with Hamas are not new, and were proposed since March but Netanyahu rejected them for political reasons; Hamas has not changed its demands and insists on ending the war or serious negotiations; Netanyahu presented Washington with a partial agreement for prisoner release aimed at stabilizing his government domestically.
