Une récente étude menée par Audirep auprès d’un panel de plus de 5 000 Français, en partenariat avec la Fédération nationale des caisses d’épargne, vient battre en brèche les représentations dominantes. A l’instar du décalage croissant entre l’offre politique et les préoccupations des citoyens que souligne Vincent Tiberj, il en ressort un décalage marqué entre l’offre économique libérale (la recherche de rentabilité arrive en tête des valeurs dominantes perçues de la société) et les attentes des citoyens qui relèvent bien davantage du lien social (respect, égalité, entraide et solidarité).
Les attentes sont plus fortes chez les femmes, les séniors, les catégories les plus populaires et dans les zones rurales
Quand on les interroge sur la propriété, 56 % des Français considèrent que les entreprises doivent être détenues par les salariés, loin devant les dirigeants fondateurs, les investisseurs ou les clients. Dans un contexte où la sociologie a mis à l’agenda la « question du travail », marquée par la dégradation de ses conditions et des modes de management verticaux, ce chiffre interpelle. Les personnes interrogées estiment en effet que cela permettrait un renforcement de la culture d’entreprise, une redistribution équitable, une répartition équilibrée du pouvoir et une vision à long terme axée sur la responsabilité sociétale et environnementale, mais aussi une meilleure attractivité/fidélisation des collaborateurs et des rémunérations plus élevées.
Il n’y a que sur la capacité à financer son développement que leur opinion est plus contrastée, ce qui n’est pas étonnant compte tenu de l’iniquité de traitement dans l’accès au financement que subissent les coopératives, y compris auprès de la Banque publique d’investissement (BPI). Concernant les besoins insuffisamment couverts en France auxquels les coopératives pourraient offrir des solutions efficaces, c’est l’aidance 1, c’est-à-dire l’aide aux personnes âgées et dépendantes, qui arrive en tête. Un autre signal de l’importance des recompositions du travail qui exige de nouveaux arrangements entre la sphère économique et la sphère domestique. L’alimentation et le logement la suivent de près, soit deux des principaux postes de dépenses des ménages.

Si on les suit, les coopératives peuvent aussi répondre aux défis de la transition juste, qui consiste pour l’Organisation internationale du travail (OIT) à « rendre l’économie plus verte d’une manière qui soit aussi équitable et inclusive que possible pour toutes les personnes concernées, en créant des opportunités de travail décent et en ne laissant personne de côté ». Ils considèrent en effet très majoritairement (plus de 80 %) qu’elles peuvent apporter des solutions efficaces aux enjeux environnementaux et de travail/emploi.
Enfin, ils sont nombreux à vouloir s’engager dans les modèles coopératifs. 51 % se disent prêts à prendre des parts sociales dans une coopérative et à y donner de leur temps. Ce chiffre monte même à plus de 60 % pour les jeunes de 18-34 ans, ce qui témoigne du potentiel des modèles coopératifs pour l’avenir. 63 % des salariés seraient prêts à acquérir des parts dans leur entreprise et 67 % des artisans, commerçants et professions libérales à rejoindre une coopérative d’activité et d’emploi 2.
Dans le domaine des loisirs, alors que le débat sur les limites du « foot business » et les expériences d’actionnariat populaire prennent de l’ampleur, ils sont 44 % à se dire prêts à donner du temps régulièrement pour participer à la gouvernance d’un grand club sportif.
Loin d’être des survivances du passé, les coopératives apparaissent donc bien coordonnées avec les attentes des citoyens. Dans un contexte de retour des enjeux de souveraineté économique, qu’ils concernent l’autonomie stratégique de la France ou l’extension de la démocratie à l’entreprise, les modèles coopératifs sont un atout majeur dont les pouvoirs publics seraient bien inspirés de se saisir.

Heifetz made it his iconic encore piece. Although I feel this recording isn't his best, was made a bit late in his career, and he maybe was a bit jaded about doing it yet again, you can still appreciate the mastery. When I was a kid I would lie under my mother's piano listening to Heifetz playing the Bach unaccompanied stuff on the old LP.
Listen about 25 seconds in to hear him play a melody line sounding as though that were the only thing he was playing despite all the stuff going on around it. Listen for variety of volume and tonal quality in different sections. IMO he distinguishes the effects better than anyone else before or since.
Heifetz' playing was unique in many ways. I have read interviews with famous violinists who said that when listening to recordings of other top violinists playing they were not really sure who it was but with Heifetz there was never any mistake.
Here is a more contemporary and perhaps more accessible version by the wonderful Hilary Hahn. Where Heifetz frequently played Bach at what most performers would consider high speed, Hahn's rendition is probably slower than average.

At dawn on Wednesday, June 25 in Massarosa (in the province of Lucca), there was a search at the home of an anarchist, in connection with the investigation carried out by the Bologna prosecutor’s office for the burning of two railway police cars, which took place in Rimini on April 20, 2023 (see here). The action was carried out in solidarity with Chilean anarchists Monica and Francisco, who were soon to be tried for several bombings in Santiago, Chile, and with Alfredo Cospito, who had just ended a six-month hunger strike.
The charges are articles 423 (arson), 270 bis para. 1 (subversive association with the purpose of terrorism), 110 (participation in a crime or misdemeanor) and 635 (damage). Fifteen anarchists, from different regions of Italy, are under investigation. Elle a mis en lumière les profits réalisés pendant la guerre : en vingt mois, les entreprises d’armement ont engrangé des bénéfices record en fournissant à Israël des armes utilisées pour bombarder Gaza. « Ces sociétés ont fait des profits proches des records en équipant Israël avec des armes de pointe qui ont permis de larguer 85 000 tonnes d’explosifs, soit six fois la puissance d’Hiroshima, pour détruire Gaza », a-t-elle déclaré.
Selon son rapport, la Bourse de Tel-Aviv a enregistré une hausse de 213 % depuis octobre 2023. « Un peuple s’enrichit, un autre est effacé », a-t-elle résumé.
Elle a accusé Israël d’avoir transformé cette guerre en laboratoire d’expérimentation militaire, testant de nouvelles armes, systèmes de surveillance personnalisés, drones létaux et radars.
La vulnérabilité de la Palestine en ferait un « laboratoire idéal pour le complexe militaro-industriel israélien ».
Albanese a nommé 48 acteurs économiques, fabricants d’armes, banques, entreprises technologiques, multinationales de l’énergie et institutions académiques qu’elle accuse d’être directement liés à « une économie de l’occupation » qui soutient les actions israéliennes.
« Des armes et des systèmes de données brutalisent et surveillent les Palestiniens. Des colonies s’étendent, financées par les banques et les assureurs, alimentées par les énergies fossiles, et normalisées par des plateformes touristiques, des chaînes de supermarchés et des institutions universitaires », a-t-elle dénoncé.
Elle a rappelé qu’en droit international, même un lien minime avec ce système implique une responsabilité claire. « Il existe une responsabilité prima facie pour chaque État et entité commerciale de s’abstenir totalement ou de mettre fin à toute relation avec cette économie de l’occupation. »
Francesca Albanese a appelé les États à des mesures audacieuses : « Les États membres doivent imposer un embargo complet sur les armes à Israël, suspendre tous les accords commerciaux et relations d’investissement, et garantir que les entités impliquées soient tenues légalement responsables de leur participation à de graves violations du droit international. »
Elle a également exhorté les entreprises à agir : «Les entités commerciales doivent immédiatement cesser toute activité et rompre tout lien contribuant directement aux violations des droits humains et aux crimes internationaux contre le peuple palestinien. »
Albanese a conclu en s’adressant à la société civile: « Les syndicats, avocats, ONG et simples citoyens doivent encourager les entreprises et les gouvernements à changer de comportement, en exigeant des boycotts, désinvestissements, sanctions et poursuites judiciaires. Fleeing the U.S. appears to be no solution, if the country you go to is just another fascist wanna-be in denial.
I have NO plans to flee—so it's irrelevent to me—but outside of Canada, the average American yearning to be an activist for democracy has little to no knowledge of who and who is not an ally.
The white-as-white people of the fiords seem to be a natural fit for democracy, but now I know I know nearly nothing.
So the next ex-pat, looking for safe havens for the overwhelmed, will get no tips from me . . .
