He was deported to #Auschwitz in September 1942.
He did not survive.
His wife Aaltje and their son Levie were deported to the camp three months later. They were murdered in gas chamber after arrival selection.

I've shared this meme a lot over time and one thing that people need to understand about right now is that the "usual people" who stand up in opposition is *not sufficient* — you don't get to panel 4 until EVERYONE stands (at least 80%). That means people who've been silent need to fucking step up.
