Certainly, no one wants to believe that Robert Kennedy would sell out America – and perhaps he truly believes that giving the country to the World Economic Forum corporate stakeholders is the only viable solution – but – that’s not what he said or represented. And that is NOT representational of the vast majority of Americans.
I was wooed. For a while. But then I found various media interviews that contradicted other media interviews, and pretty soon, it appeared he had re-scripted his talking points to meet the parties half way. We were vulnerable – and wanted him to be the real thing. But when he clarified his intent to ‘never’ consider any appointment from Trump, his motives began to take a bit of a sinister twist. Still, the hopeful – hoped.

The amount of investment our agricultural and energy industries would see with companies listing on the NYSE or NASDAQ vs the TSX would be astronomical.

Likewise, without the foreign exchange volatility in dealing with the Canadian dollar, capital would flood into the province, seeing a sustained economic boom unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

The Alberta oil industry struggles constantly to ride market price increases because of the very small pool of labour we can attract to actually implement large energy products.

We almost drained the entire province of Newfoundland in the last boom, and it still wasn’t enough to meet up with labour demands. That isn’t a problem with over 325 million Americans who could cross into our border without any kind of a passport or work visa.

All those factors would also be a boon to all our secondary industries as well: forestry, mining, tech, tourism and financial services.

Cost of living would fall like a stone and living standards would consistently increase.

Then there’s the strength of The American Constitution which actually has meaningful protections for the right to keep and bear arms, property rights, and most importantly freedom of speech.

Oh… and the Oilers and Flames might actually be able to win the Stanley Cup.

( No Canadian team can win because the American teams pay better and players aren’t taxed to de@th as they are in Canada. / That’s why the best Canadian talent moves to the US (and not just in hockey).

embedding custom wayland UI stuff on top of gtk3 and gtk4 based applications works! 🎉

the gtk APIs to get down to the wayland surface are a bit awkward, but at least its accessible.
I tried the same with Qt6 and couldn't find a way to have it return the underlying wl_surface pointer. 🤷

I got an LV2 plugin UI with this setup working, but no hosts to try it out against.
Modifying jalv.gtk3 is likely the easiest path... 🤔

Il y a 7 jours, 74 députés européens ont signé une motion de censure contre #VonderLeyen au #Parlement européen
Puis 5 députés ont enlevé leur signature. La liste est donc tombée à 69, ce qui ne permettait pas de déposer la motion, le nombre requis étant de 72.
Heureusement, 8 nouveaux députés ont signé. La motion a aujourd’hui 77 signatures.
On remarque dans la liste le grand nombre de Polonais et le très petit nombre de Français: aucun député de gauche, aucun député LR, 2 RN (Virginie #Joron, Thierry #Mariani), 1 Reconquête (Sarah Knaffo).
La soupe est trop bonne à l’ #UE. Si la Motion de censure était votée, toute la structure s’effondrerait. Et les députés bien rétribués à ne rien faire perdraient salaire et privilèges.
Il y aura donc un débat mais seul un miracle pourrait permettre de chasser l’affreuse et ses laquais.
