I have over 400 physical DVDs and over 300 physical CDs. I buy them, I rip them, and then I put them in a box.
And I'm kind of wondering why I keep them. Why not rip and resell? I'm not planning to buy enough shelf space for all that. I like the convenience of having a media server.
I've got other stuff I'm storing in my storage unit, so it doesn't cost me anything to keep them, but still. Why?

I've got 4 copies of the music, but only 2 of the movies.
I was thinking about how all the music is MP3s because that's what we had back then, but now all the cool kids are using FLAC. So maybe I should start ripping in FLAC.

I got rid of my vinyl and cassettes before confirming I could get everything in a digital format. There's music I'll never hear again. At least this time I made copies first.
Looking at you Cerbral Corps and your original release of Oxide Socks.
