This is heartbreaking and unacceptable. The deliberate obstruction of aid causing starvation is a blatant violation of human rights. We need immediate and unfettered access for humanitarian assistance. Speaking of navigating tough situations, I could really use the skills from Moto X3M right now to cut through all the red tape and get aid where it's desperately needed. International pressure is crucial!

Since Microsoft is organising a European Sovereign Tech Fund, we should ask Lockheed Martin to put together a European Sovereign Defense Fund. There’s probably also opportunity here to bring Amazon in to advise on EU labour standards and have McDonald’s take the lead on food safety policy in the EU.

Seas Le Kneecap

Kneecap performed their Coachella sets in front of a large screen onto which messages were projected, including denunciation of the Israeli “genocide” of Palestinians “enabled” by the US (Rolling Stone).

Many cancelled gigs followed, as well as a call from Sharon Osbourne that the band’s work visas be revoked (BBC). In response, Kneecap insisted that their speech was not an incitement to violence (BBC).

The band’s visas might also be in jeopardy because the band has parted ways with booking agents IAG, which sponsored the band’s US tour (Hollywood Reporter).

Further, scrutiny of past performances revealed pro-Hamas and -Hizbollah chants, which have now led to an investigation by the UK’s anti-terror police (NME). The band also apologized for a 2023 remark that “the only good Tory [Conservative MP] is a dead Tory” (BBC).

Many artists and bands have come out in support of Kneecap – about 40 put their names to a statement posted to instagram. The band also has the support of the graffitist in the image above: “Free Palestine – silence = complicity. Seas le Kneecap [stand with Kneecap]”.

The Glúıne Caıpín (Caıpín Glúıne/Kneecap/Ní cheapaım) chocolate bar (below) was purchased in a Castle Street newsagents.

“Death, death to the IOF” – Lasaır Dhearg [web]” – that is, the Israeli Occupation Forces (as an alternative name for the “Israeli Defense Force”) in Gaza.

Palestinian deaths in Gaza now number about 60,000 (Al Jazeera) and reports that people are dying from starvation – about 100 so far (Al Jazeera) – and 1,000 more killed while seeking aid (NPR).

Israeli Forces Kidnap Palestinian Health Spokesman eir.news/2025/07/news/israeli-…
in reply to Hackaday (unofficial)

We are looking for an investor who can loan our holding company 237,000 US dollars.

With this money, we will open a farm in Baku, Azerbaijan to produce animal-based food.

We will also make our own animal feed, so our products will be healthier, better quality, and cheaper.

Because we sell quality products for less and have strong advertising, we will sell more worldwide and make big profits.

Why Azerbaijan? Because animal farming makes a lot of money there, but few people do it. That’s why we will earn more by starting in Azerbaijan.

Additionally, by producing our own animal feed, we will be able to sell healthier, higher quality animal products at a lower price.

Since we can sell quality products cheaply and thanks to our strong advertising network, we will be able to sell more internationally and make huge profits.

The reason for establishing the business in Azerbaijan is that animal husbandry is a very profitable business in Azerbaijan, but since there are very few people doing animal husbandry, establishing the farm in Azerbaijan will provide us with more income.

Your profit:

You will lend 237,000 US dollars to our holding company and when 22.03.2026 comes, you will receive your money back as 953,000 US dollars.

Your earnings will be great. When 22.03.2026 comes, you will get your money back as 953.00 US dollars.

You will lend 237,000 US dollars to our holding company and when 22.03.2026 comes, you will receive your money back as 953,000 US dollars.

When 22.03.2026 comes, I will give you back your money in the amount of 953,000 US dollars.

That means you will earn 716,000 US dollars profit in just 9 months.

If you like this project and want to loan us money, message me on WhatsApp or Telegram for more details.

We do need a European Sovereign Tech Fund, yes.

What we don’t need is Microsoft – a trillion-dollar surveillance capitalist from the US that peddles proprietary technology and is helping Israel carry out its genocide of the Palestinian people as we speak – having anything whatsoever to do with it.

Rigged thermometers, erased memory: How we create artificial global warming en.reseauinternational.net/the…

I am now being required by my day job to use an AI assistant to write code. I have also been informed that my usage of AI assistants will be monitored and decisions about my career will be based on those metrics.

I gave it an honest shot today, using it as responsibly as I know how: only use it for stuff I already know how to do, so that I can easily verify its output. That part went ok, though I found it much harder to context switch between thinking about code structure and trying to herd a bullshit generator into writing correct code.

One thing I didn't expect, though, is how fucking disruptive it's suggestion feature would be. It's like trying to compose a symphony while someone is relentlessly playing a kazoo in your ear. It flustered me really quickly, to the point where I wasn't able to figure out how to turn that "feature" off. I'm noticing physical symptoms of an anxiety attack as a result.

I stopped work early when I noticed I was completely spent. I don't know if I wrote more code today than I would have normally. I don't think I wrote better code, as the vigilance required is extremely hard for my particular brand of neurospicy to maintain.

As far as the "write this function for me" aspect, I've noticed that I tend to use the mental downtime of typing out a function I've designed to let my brain percolate on the solution and internalize it so I have it in my working memory. This doesn't happen when I'm simply reviewing code written by something else. Reviewing code and writing it are completely separate activities for me. But there's nothing to keep my fingers and thoughts busy while I'm coming up with what to write next.

I didn't think we were meant to live like this.

@pkw If I were in a position to quit, it'd be a lot easier to deal with.

I wouldn't call you a Luddite. I'm actively trying to reduce tech debt (in fact, that's my current assigned task), but the "you gotta use AI" edict is company-wide. So I'm writing code to analyze code to convert it from NotInventedHereLang into something that we can actually put on a job description.

You know, assuming we ever hire anyone.

in reply to anonymiss

@anonymiss A criticism is not a critique. In order for a critique to mean anything it has to have a foundation. To build a foundation requires an approach to approaches. To want to do anything requires feelings, unless one is a robot.

You are not a robot, so you have feelings. The practical is actually pure reason, only in reverse.
We are people without a foundation, and so our critiques are replaced with criticisms.
Because so many people are walking around with purity on the outstretched hand
and a practical slice of cake sliding down the gullet.
Endless criticism on the assumption of purity of values
leads to emotional actions, which lead to one of two options:
divided and conquered or fighting and divided.

But where is the purity?
I say we need an approach to approaches,
not to run away, but also not to take lightly.

Lightness is for non-anonymity,
for the reality of the impure
which is where our purity can shine
having so many more senses
than the propositional purity of words.

I seek the middle way.
In lieu of a foundation, we can begin building one here.
An online sanga is already there 😀

For me, this is always what #hashtags were for.
There's always more room for a critique, but the friendships we build along the way define this world's sphere of values.
And as long as that sphere is just a slop mediated by media companies, we will never be able to build, for we lack a foundation which reflects us: otherwise our words mean very little, just reflecting our lack of developed senses in the real world.

We can begin by asking, what do real friends need to be friends?
Then we can ask, how can we provide people with the means to be friends?
And finally we can enjoy the social network...
But until and unless we have a shared foundation with robust terms...
I'm afraid it will be endless criticism because no one is bothered to form a(nother) critique.

I don't often quote Counterfire, but:

"Britain has many options for acting, such as:

* Supporting and enforcing the International Court of Justice rulings against Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers.
* Expelling Israeli diplomats.
* Inviting Israeli opposition leaders to meet with Britain and other countries to draw up a peace proposal.
...
* Calling a summit with EU member states to impose sanctions on Israel"

Letter From Jakhi McCray to the Movement

It has been one month since the NYPD and the U.S. government came after me, accusing me of setting fire to police vehicles belonging to the 83rd precinct in Brooklyn. According to them, $800,000 worth of damage was done and the charred remains of the vehicles represented a direct attack on the police.

Today, July 21st, I walked into the 83rd precinct and turned myself in.

There’s a real chance that I won’t see the outside of a cell for years, but I make this choice clear of mind and, in a naive way, hopeful. It’s a hope that comes from feeling loved and supported by my friends, my family, and my comrades that have rallied in support of me in wake of the accusations. It’s a feeling that I cherish and will hold on to in the, now uncertain timeline of my life.

I’m 21 years old and I know it’s normal to be unsure about life and the world, but I want to thank you -whether l know you or you’re just meeting me for the first time now- forgiving me some comfort in all this.

My charge comes with a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20. The federal government has labeled me “armed and dangerous” and blasted a $30,000 bounty for my capture, which Zionist and white supremacist news outlets have happily supported in their racist doxxing and smear campaign against me.

My home has been raided alongside two other addresses in New York City, and my little siblings had assault rifles brandished at them as they were harassed and forced outside.

I’m not, nor was I ever, scared. This scare tactic is nothing compared to other black people that are beaten and/or murdered, and their names being dragged through the mud as the media does damage control for the officers that did it. It’s not new to Palestinians and Arabs that are being assassinated, deported, and harassed. I’ve met immigrants that live under daily paranoia, not knowing whether or not ICE goons will bust through their doors and kidnap their families.

I’ve been arrested 12 times before this, and doxxed and lied about by fascist press and police officers alike. I’ve seen friends and comrades lose relationships, homes, and jobs because of their refusal to be responsible for the genocide in Palestine and the kidnapping of migrants.

The SCC61, the CUNY8, the Prarieland1 1, the 2020 prsioners, Tarek Barzouk, Leqaa Kordia-all just a few current examples of the the government’s attempt to regain control. The use of COINTELPRO and its domestic warfare campaign that left hundreds of dead and imprisoned revolutionaries throughout the 20th century and now has caused a memory crater in our movement, where we don’t know to how to handle the brutality of State repression.

Repression is the State trying to call our bluff. It is intense because it shows itself when our potential to disrupt genocides and capital becomes too grand to ignore. Millions of people, whether they consider themselves revolutionaries or not, that participated in the encampments, the anti-ICE street rebellions, and the George Floyd Uprising have helped create a social crisis in the last five years that continues to bring in millions more and fuel the need for liberation.

The constant effort it takes the State to oppress us is not manageable. It is already breaking, with the funding and hiring disasters in federal agencies, the infighting between the Trump administration and his base, and the complete political catastrophe over Israel.

The harshness of the State’s eye on our movement is nothing more than a defensive reaction, a mask from their fear. This is as much of a make or break moment for them as it is for us. If we come out of this with our solidarity and our infrastructure intact, it is a monumental win for our communities and a devastation to our enemies.

Our greatest strength is each other-that we are not just coworkers maintaining appearances for the duration of a shift. We are comrades, and with that comes a promise to love, defend, and fight for one another. Because you are my comrades, I hold this promise towards all of you.

I don’t know what will happen now, but I do know that I will never stop fighting and I will do my best wherever I find myself to be.

With love and solidarity, Jakhi

With itch now censoring porn games, I kind of want to restart work on that one indie game hosting site that I was working on, but I really hate working with databases and if I want to include payment, I would have to do it with crypto, which I have no experience from a dev standpoint, and I would have to do a bunch of research on the current legality of crypto in various parts of the world.
in reply to xianc78

Though I think the best and long-term solution is to just create a web framework that allows people to self host their games while also providing payment options without having to implement that stuff manually.

Like I said earlier, I don't think porn games will go away. They have always been niche and most of them were self-hosted for this very reason. Games like Sociolotron required you to purchase the game directly from their website. Other games were purchased via mail-order. I think we will simply go back to the former.

More than 100 aid groups warn Gaza is starving

Over 100 humanitarian organizations, led by #Oxfam, say their own staff now queue for food amid Israel’s siege. Supplies sit unused, as daily distributions average just 28 trucks. They call for all crossings opened, UN-led aid restored, an immediate ceasefire and end to the blockade.

[...] Governments must stop waiting for permission to act. We cannot continue to hope that current arrangements will work. It is time to take decisive action: demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire; lift all bureaucratic and administrative restrictions; open all land crossings; ensure access to everyone in all of Gaza; reject military-controlled distribution models; restore a principled, UN-led humanitarian response and continue to fund principled and impartial humanitarian organizations. States must pursue concrete measures to end the siege, such as halting the transfer of weapons and ammunition.
