Breaking up large corps isn't a "left-wing" idea, it's democratic, no matter where on the spectrum you are.
Taxing the rich and limiting their political influence also isn't "leftist". It's democratic.
To be a democratic state means regulating the power of the few privileged groups and organisations.
It's called egalitarianism, the first principle of democracy.

Today’s release only concerns production servers:
• Kitten no longer counts all *hits* in its stats. You can still see which of your *pages* are most popular, etc., and see stats for missing URLs, etc., as before from either the web interface or the interactive shell, but not every hit is logged. Instead, you can see the latest 25 served routes in Kitten’s Settings (at /🐱/settings/state/requests/ via the web on your server).
- Kitten production servers now carry out an automatic daily maintenance restart at some time between 3AM and 5AM local server time. (“Have you tried turning it off and on again?” as a Service™) This is to allow JSDB² tables a chance to compact themselves (especially important for high traffic/high mutation tables like sessions, so they don’t balloon up to take up all available memory on small VPS instances).
I don’t think anyone but us (Small Technology Foundation³) is running Kitten in production at the moment but, still. If you are playing with Kitten and experimenting with it in production, your servers will update to this latest version in a few hours.

A film festival has asked to provide the video to screen in a cinema-specific format (DCP), "created using a reliable tool e.g., DCP-o-matic".
Deadline: two days 😱
My first thought: great, I'm going to spend two days wrestling with Wine and some barely working "industry standard" tooling, am I?
But looking closer, it turned out:
- DCP is a stream of JPEG2000 frames in MXF container and some XML metadata 🤔
- the cinema expects a ext2-formatted drive 😮
- DCP-o-matic is GPLv2+ and multiplatform 🤩
However, DCP-o-matic had troubles with our slightly unusual source material (variable frame rate stop-motion). The video was blinking.
So I looked into its source code and it turned out that hacking it into duplicating missing frames instead of injecting black ones was a matter of a single line change.
Now try fixing a thing like that when your Adobe suite is acting up 😂
