En avril 2025, une enquête interne, menée par le cabinet d’avocats suisse Homburger, révèle que Klaus Schwab et sa femme Hilde ont engagé plus de 1,1 million de dollars de frais de voyage suspects. S'y ajoutent 836 000 livres sterling de dépenses insuffisamment liées aux activités du Forum.

Les détails donnent le vertige. Billets 1ère classe pour Hilde Schwab qui n’a aucun rôle officiel dans l’organisation. Voyages personnels aux Seychelles, à Miami, en Afrique du Nord, tous sur le compte du #WEF. Dernier en date : une semaine au Maroc entre décembre 2024 et janvier 2025, facturée comme voyage professionnel.
Quatorze massages d’hôtel passent sur la note de frais.
Klaus Schwab finira par en rembourser la moitié, mais seulement après que les enquêteurs mettent le doigt sur ces dépenses. Même la ligne téléphonique de leur domicile genevois et le portable de leur femme de ménage transitent par les comptes du Forum.

« Sens-tu que je pense à toi ? »
Les révélations financières ne sont que la partie émergée de l’iceberg. L’enquête dévoile un comportement qualifié d’inapproprié envers le personnel féminin. En juin 2020, Klaus Schwab envoie un email tardif à une cadre supérieure : « Sens-tu que je pense à toi ? ». Un message qui émane du patron d’une organisation prônant l’égalité hommes-femmes.
