window manager named ion3 forked into notion

after it was abandoned. Tabbed, not tiled, fixed not floating

Nothing to do with the notion app messenger gadget thing ..

You can try it on jobextra/notion. After ion3 was abandoned a team called notion forked it and kept working on it. You don't to hear much about it but it is very well developed if you are into such thing, and comes with plenty of documentation so configuring and customizing is a breeze. Lua scripts, and bindkeys may be the 2 key qualities that best describe it.

Enjoy

Why are they $30 each instead of $80?

Doesn't say what is inside (I assume Whiskey but what kind).

Doesn't say how large - 750ml or some custom size.

Why doesn't the Jameson site not sell it?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Elon Musk knows that he made an enormous mistake when he turned against Trump.

Trump clinched the Nobel Peace Prize yesterday.

Plus, Bill Barr completely cleared Trump of any wrong doing related to Epstein in his testimony to Congress yesterday.

Only the dumbest of the dumb brainwashed sheep have any doubt about Trump being greatest champion of peace of this era at this point.

Personally, I think Musk had a drug-fueled mental breakdown because he couldn't handle being hated.

Bluesky question for admin folks... @mackuba?

You may be aware of @pluralistic's essay on the new #Bluesky ToS requiring binding arbitration: pluralistic.net/2025/08/15/dog…

At the end he says he's setting up his own "Bluesky server" so he doesn't need to agree to the new ToS.

BUT, assuming this means running his own PDS, it seems according to this guide: rafaeleyng.github.io/self-host… step 'Create a Bluesky account', you still need to agree to the Bluesky ToS to run Bluesky even on your own PDS.

Right?

Fortunately those of us on the Fediverse don't need to agree to any binding arbitration clauses to send and receive posts to/ from Bluesky using the bridges. ---

israel pol (how to treat genociders)

"Last Friday, 47 Israelis got stranded in Bosnia after a hotel in Sarejevo 'accidentally' threw all their passports into the trash

The trash was then taken to a landfill dozens of miles outside of the city. Bosnian authorities have been unable to retrieve them.

The Israeli Embassy in Belgrade says it is working to help the stranded Israelis"

@Dianora@ottawa.place I seem to recall there is a legal difference between "Product of Canada" and "Made in Canada". **Product of Canada** simply means the product has been packaged for sale *in* *Canada*. **Made in Canada** means that the product contains at least 51% Canadian originated "stuff". (Might be wrong on the percentage though). And doesn't the Canagian Government have special emblems/ flags to put on product labels for 100% sourced and produced Canadian goods? ---

The *usual* suspect (They have been in the news recently for doing this crap) Big sign advertising red onions product of Canada but they are actually product of U.S.A.
This is at a local Ottawa super market that we were shopping at this morning.

President Trump gave positive recognition to those who do not deserve it today.
Actors.
Eagerly placed at the table.
It’s all so corrupt.
Those who do not deserve it must be made to feel important.
The boring part of diplomacy.
Touching the bases.
The hollow must be felt full.
The game could not be more clear.
The slow people in the back will not earn a pass.
Cast as is.
Important.
Cast as is.
There we are.
Acceptance.
Willing acceptance.
The game well afoot.
A game it is.

Back from #defcon with one very important lesson: /tmp is where dreams go to die. 💀📂

This year I unleashed my “PursePot” — a Raspberry Pi honeypot + Evil Twin rig tucked neatly into my purse. Nobody looked twice at the bag, but inside it was quietly broadcasting Xfinity, attwifi, and Target Guest WiFi while nudging devices off the defcon open net to come say hello.

In just 7 hours, PursePot collected a malware menagerie:

- 78 P2PInfect worms (overachievers)
- 68 Mirai variants (still kicking IoT around)
- 37 XMRig cryptominers (Monero forever, I guess?)
- Cameos by Outlaw, Gafgyt, Prometei, and Xorddos

Takeaways?

Opportunistic malware doesn’t care if you’re at the world’s biggest hacker con — it just wants a new home.

PursePot v2 is already in the works. More stealth, more logging, and maybe fewer tragic life choices with /tmp. 😅

I wonder how much fun they had in the murder capital of the world?
