Today in Labor History August 19, 1909: The first edition of the IWW’s The Little Red Songbook was published in Spokane, WA. The book’s subtitle is “Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent.” Between 1909 and 1995, the Wobblies printed 36 editions. The songbook always includes songs by Joe Hill, Ralph Chaplin, T-Bone Slim, and Haywire Mac. Most editions contained many of the best-known labor songs, like "The Internationale," "The Preacher and the Slave," and "Solidarity Forever." Haywire Mac, composer of the “Big Rock Candy Mountain” and “Hallelujah I’m a Bum,” was one of the original members of the IWW band, in Spokane, in 1907. Mac later participated in the anarchist Magonista Revolution in Baja California, helping to capture and occupy Tijuana. He eventually settled down in San Francisco, where he hosted working-class radio and television programs.

people have really absurdly large phones now. reminds me of the guy in highschool who used a tablet as his phone. anyways, i dont doubt that most netflix watchers use their phone, but why? why would you subject yourself to that when you cant even make out the details?
it would save them so much money and be so funny if they refused to stream in high definition to phones

i haven't been on enough trains in my life tbh but longer transit like trains planes wtv. i just watch things on a laptop or listen to music on phone, i listen much more. america is the worst for trains i cant find any excuse to take one here especially if its like visiting far away because you cant take ur car and what are you gonna do when u get there in america? :neocat_sob:
i was going to make some point here but i forgot what it was

no they read subtitles way more than the rest actually like its a documented phenomenon, zoomer subtittles or i forget the name, basically cuz of like audio being too mono and harder to hear after typical processing nowadays plus also iirc something more generational i cant remember apparently zoomers struggle watching things witthout subtitles if they want to hear at all
ive been like that but since i was a little kid so i think its different i just have bad hearing in general i went deaf several times as a kid

Trackball. The Microsoft optical one.

When it was discontinued, my friend bought 2 for me and 2 for him. Mine eventually died. I am sad.

I limp along with a crappy wireless trackball inspired by Logitech's unreliable one which was inspired by Microsoft.

Most other trackballs are completely the wrong shape.

Mice -- fuck them. They cause RSI.

I'd like to get back into #GuildWars2 but last time I returned, I found that most of the people I used to know had left, and all the people I knew who hadn't left had gone full fash. Like, "It's a good thing actually that Russia bans gay media" and "I hope Trump personally shoots you in the face" level fash.

Does anyone play and are actually in a good, progressive community? Bonus points for #roleplay.
