alright lads i have found the problem. a short in an ABS wheel speed sensor wire is causing spurious pulsing of the brake which is causing that creaking sound only when turning to one side and braking. finally nailed it.
i think instead of throwing a bunch of money away on new sensors i'll just splice out that section of fatigued wire on both sides. new OEM sensors would be like $200 each, after market can be a lot cheaper but i'd rather stick with the oem sensors
