Dev posted few weeks ago about donations being a little short and having lowered making it more difficult to support development. A lot of people then started to donate or increase their financial support.
They posted asking for people to stand up for them. Dirty communists like myself (okay, and others) stood up and pushed that message everywhere we could. Because you have to want freedom and democracy. It does not come for free.

I recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on a laptop, and I'm having a two-sided issue. Web searches have yielded no solution. I'm also very new to Linux.
Problem 1: When alt-tabbing out of a fullscreen application (at this moment, Helldivers 2), the application will minimize, but I cannot restore it. It will appear for roughly half a second, and then re-minimize. I can hear the game still running in the background.
I have tried alt-tab, super+number, and right-click>restore. None seem to work. I have tried disabling thumbnails for windows, no fix. Disabling effects, no fix.
Problem 2: As a workaround for problem 1, I tried borderless fullscreen. It works, but there is a white, 1 px border around the screen. I have tried changing themes, no fix. Same thing with disabling effects. I do like the Mint-Y theme, but there's no longer an option to change window borders, from what I've researched. Again, trying a different theme didn't seem to get rid of the white border.
I just get a quick black flicker and it goes back to minimized. I also tried changing the win argument to :SELECT: from the documentation you linked, but it still doesn't pull up the window and keep it there.
The command does work for other windows, for clarification.
An extra detail: I'm using 2 monitors. When playing with borderless window and moving the mouse rapidly, I've had my mouse escape the focused window a few times and start clicking stuff on my desktop.

If you've got a server running node Javascript you may want to skip Linux kernel 6.14.6. I've installed it on about 25 machines and it's been stable on all but two, and two which have been unstable also happen to be the only two running node applications. I do not know exactly what is wrong with the kernel because the failure mode is one where it locks up hard, does not reboot, does not response to magic-sys-request, thus there is no way to get a kernel dump to see what it was doing when it dies.

I'm no longer a Hydrasynth owner. It's a great synth and I'm sure I'll miss it to some degree, but it just never inspired me the way the opsix or Pigments does, and since I have both of those and they cover nearly identical territory, I decided to sell it a few months ago.
Well, didn't end up selling it (everyone is broke rn!), but I did end up trading it -- so now I have a Roland TR-8s instead.
I used to have a TR-6s until I traded it (for some Eurorack modules), so I'm familiar with the 8s (same engine, but the 8 has individual outs, more/better controls, and more voices). I was very reluctant to trade the 6s back then because I thought it was a great drum machine but part of my logic justifying it was I could always get a TR-8s to replace it since I know the engine was good and could use the extra features.
one of my friends has been rolling on the tr-8s and they always do good work with it. i suck at composing on a drum machine, but i can attest that the controls on it are great. a lot of ground covered with that box there.
@benda The 6s was my main drum machine on Psychedelic Ghost Stories (altho that album used 3 or 4 different drum machines, plus samples and MPC drum synths), and having more voices and control, plus better I/O, in a larger/easier to play interface is very tempting. I tried to trade it (and other stuff) for a Syntakt and intended to keep that, so who knows. If I can sell off both my other digital drum machines (Model: Cycles and Volca Drum) maybe I can justify keeping the Tr8s as my digital.
@benda Pretty certain I will be keeping my DrumBrute Impact (which is the only drum machine on Mechanics of Mysticism, altho there are some sampled drums as well) as my analog machine. (I was going to consider selling it if Syntakt's analog section was a suitable replacement).
