Quoting Historian Shai Hazkani and Tamir Sorek on how religious rights’ vision for Jewish supremacy and Palestinian elimination has gained mainstream acceptance in Israeli society:

Hazakani and Sorek analyzed Rabbi Yitzchak Ginzburg's sermon "Time to Crack the Nut," which outlined a plan to dismantle what he termed the four "shells" protecting Israeli democracy: media, legal system, government institutions, and the military's ethical constraints. Ginzburg, a #Chabad-trained rabbi who became influential among religious Zionist settlers, particularly the "hilltop youth" militia, advocated for the complete removal of Palestinians from historic Palestine.

Key survey findings from March 2025:

- 82% of Israeli Jews support forcibly expelling Gaza residents (up from 45% in 2003)

- 56% support forcibly expelling Palestinian citizens of Israel (up from 31% in 2003)

- 47% believe the Israeli military should kill all residents when conquering enemy cities, following the biblical precedent of Jericho

- 65% believe a contemporary Amalek exists, with 93% of those saying the biblical commandment to "blot out Amalek" applies today

There’s a particularly high support among younger Israelis, with 66% of those under 40 supporting expulsion of Palestinian citizens and 58% endorsing total elimination of enemy populations.

[…] Ginzburg's achievement is indeed the result of shattering the shells, even if the "crackers" weren't always his direct supporters. Hebrew media, the first shell, was always enlisted but maintained a veneer of professionalism. Recently, for the most part, it has abandoned even this pretense, and since the massacre in the Gaza envelope, many journalists have abandoned critical coverage, with some even joining the bellicose calls for revenge, expulsion, and extermination.

[…] The judiciary, which refused to openly declare Jewish supremacy in the Land of Israel and their right to expel, exterminate, or starve their enemies — while simultaneously playing a crucial role in preserving the occupation — was seen by Ginzburg as a stumbling block that "we must break... through mockery and 'contempt of court.'" It appears that the second shell has also undergone change, if it hasn't been completely removed already: about two months ago, Supreme Court Justice David Mintz rejected a petition by the organization "Gisha" to compel Israel to ensure humanitarian aid delivery to the Strip, ruling that this constitutes a "biblical commanded war," effectively authorizing the denial of food, water, and medicine to millions of Gazans. Mintz's ruling, a resident of the settlement Dolev, joined by Chief Justice Yitzhak Amit and Justice Noam Sohlberg from the settlement Alon Shvut, is already claiming lives.

[…] The education system, part of that same second shell, became a workplace where Jewish teachers promoting universal values risk dismissal (for Arab teachers, this danger was never foreign). Education researchers point to a sharp shift toward ethnocentric nationalism in curricula since the Second Intifada, and this process has led to high support for expulsion and extermination, particularly among those who completed their studies in the past 20 years. 66% of those 40 and under support expelling Arab citizens of Israel, and 58% want to see the IDF replicate Joshua's actions at Jericho. Generational gaps in political attitudes aren't unusual, but in Israel it has widened dramatically since the beginning of the 21st century.

[…] It seems there's little need to elaborate on the Knesset and government. Ginzburg himself demands that "the government — whether left or right — we must eliminate. We must bring it down, and when a new one arises, bring that down too, and so on — until establishing Torah rule in the land." The five election cycles held within three and a half years show that here too, Ginzburg can boast of considerable divine assistance.

The two scholars argue that October 7th provided the opportunity Ginzburg had long awaited to implement his vision. They trace how his ideology has penetrated Israeli institutions - from media abandoning critical coverage to Supreme Court Justice David Mintz recently ruling that denying humanitarian aid to Gaza constitutes a "biblical commanded war."

They conclude that without rejecting Jewish supremacy entirely and establishing genuine equality between the Jordan River and Mediterranean Sea, Israel will continue its trajectory toward what they describe as a "Spartan and ostracized society."

Quoting Israeli ex PM Ehud Olmert on Israel’s war crimes in Gaza:

[…] What we are doing in Gaza is a war of extermination: indiscriminate killing of civilians, without limits, cruel and criminal. We are doing this not because of accidental loss of control in a particular sector, not because of a disproportionate outburst of fighters in some unit—but as a result of policy dictated by the government, knowingly, intentionally, wickedly, maliciously, recklessly. Yes, we are committing war crimes.

[…] What is happening in the Gaza Strip in recent weeks has no connection to a legitimate war objective. Our fighters are being sent by the state leadership—and the army leadership that obeys it—to wander around in the neighborhoods of Gaza City, Jabaliya and Khan Younis in an illegitimate military operation. This is now a private political war, and its immediate result is turning the Gaza Strip into an area of humanitarian disaster.

[…] One also cannot ignore what is happening among certain IDF units, including the special units, where the best and most daring fighters serve. There are too many cases of cruel shooting at civilians, of destruction of property and houses, even when this does not need to happen. Looting of property, thefts from houses, which in many cases IDF soldiers also boasted about and published in personal posts. We are committing war crimes. I do not share the opinion of Major General (Res.) Moshe Ya'alon, who said we are committing ethnic cleansing. But we are approaching a point where it will not be possible to deny that this is the inevitable result of what the government, the army and our brave fighters are actually doing.

[…] The time has come to stop, before we are all expelled from the family of nations and summoned to the International Court of Justice for war crimes, and a good defense will not stand for us.

Enough is enough.

That is why reaction deals its main blows against the political party of the working class. At the same time, trying to undermine the party from within, capitalist propaganda endeavours to persuade the workers that they can do without their own party. One of the manifestations of bourgeois influence on the working class is the anarchist and anarcho-syndicalist denial of the leading role of a political party.

I looked at my vantablack skin and i felt disgusted, how could an aryan like me have such disgusting features? For many years i loathed my existence, until one day, i discovered the race transitioning community on reddit. It was the solution to all my problems, i started saving money to travel to north europe in order to get access to race transition therapy and live like the aryan I always was on the inside. Once I arrived at my new home, I begun becoming my true self. I bought blue color contact lenses, started MRT (melatonin replacement therapy) treatment and booked surgeries to increase my height and transform my bone and facial structure. After 3 years on MRT I now live life happily as a 6'7" vantawhite blue eyed blond hair aryan.

"Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fingered four potential causes of childhood chronic disease in a bombshell report released Thursday — the first step in the Trump administration’s bid to reverse what it calls a health “crisis” impacting 40% of America’s kids.

The report identified poor diet, environmental chemicals, lack of physical activity and chronic stress, and overmedicalization as likely responsible for persistent maladies — including obesity, autism, cancer, mental health issues and allergies — warning: “The health of American children is in crisis.”

The report also calls for further inquiry into the link between vaccines and chronic diseases — saying there has been “limited scientific inquiry” into the issue.

The research will be used to create police recommendations by August of 2025, which will be presented to President Trump.

“President Trump wants every child in America to grow up and to live a long and healthy life,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters of the “historic” assessment."

So a few hours ago, I quietly switched the Small Technology Foundation web site over from the Hugo-based static site running on Site.js to the new dynamic version I built using Kitten*:

small-tech.org

What I initially thought would be a weekend project turned into three months 😀 (During which, Kitten improved a huge amount thanks to issues that surfaced while porting the site and implementing a custom CMS for it.)

I’ve tried not to break any links and my focus was on porting existing content first. If you notice any glaring issues please ping me. In the coming days I’ll be updating stuff (with my lovely new admin panel) and writing more about the porting process.

Also, with this, our last site using Site.js has been ported to Kitten so I’ll be archiving Site.js this week.

Finally met with my assigned pulmonologist today!

My bronchiectasis is mild. My “ground glass opacities” are nodules and granulomas which look benign and are currently small enough to warrant only monitoring. Bloodwork indicates my symptoms are mostly from infections, not allergies, and I am slowly recovering from those infections.

She said I’m on the right track with nebulizing saline and nasal lavage, although “God gives us mucus for a reason” so I’m not to rinse my sinuses more than 3x per day, 2x per day preferred. I must continue masking in public and avoiding infections like the plague, which they are for me now. Both the Skyrizi (monoclonal antibody medication for treating Crohn's) and Crohn’s Disease itself make me extra vulnerable to infection, and yes, Crohn’s may be expressing itself in my lungs. Oh yeah also I'm old now, she reminded me.

It looks like I’m recovering from the worst of my infections, which I believe were RSV in March and adenovirus in April, plus something bacterial because I responded to antiobotics and anti bacterial eyedrops (pinkeye was but one of many symptoms). I need to accept infections may last a lot longer and be more severe than I thought normal.

After I take another month to recover, I will go back for lung capacity tests and an EKG to see how my heart’s doing. The pulmonologist guided me through my CT scans, pointing out granulomas, nodules, and bronchiectasis, and said several times how good my lungs looked. I still gots capacity!

Pix are of me killing time with the plastic lung model while waiting for the pulmonologist to arrive. I was with a friend who took these photos and also notes, for which I am very grateful.

  • Marjori Palmer: One of the most morale-damaging aspects of the inflation was the "sack of Germany" that occurred at the height of the (1923) inflation. Anyone who possessed dollars or sterling was king in Germany. A few American dollars would allow a man to live like a millionaire. Foreigners swarmed into the country, buying up family treasures, estates, jewelry and art works at unbelievable low prices.
  • Lionel Robbins: It was the most colossal thing of its kind in history: and next probably to the Great War itself, it must bear responsibility for many of the political and economic difficulties of our generation. It destroyed the wealth of the more solid elements of German society: and left behind a moral and economic disequilibrium, a breeding ground for the disasters which have followed. Hitler is the foster child of the inflation.
  • Lenin: There is no trace of utopianism in Marx, in the sense that he made up or invented a 'new' society. No, he studied the birth of the new society out of the old, and the forms of transition from the latter to the former, as a natural-historical process. He examined the actual experience of a proletarian mass movement and tried to draw practical lessons from it.
  • Che Guevara: Many will call me an adventurer - and that I am, only one of a different sort: one of those who risks his skin to prove his platitudes.
  • Democritus: The first principles of the universe are atoms and empty space; everything else is merely thought to exist.
  • Bertolt Brecht: Lenin is enshrined In the large heart of the working class.

Excellent essay by Gary Marcus analyzing the many assumptions - - many edging easily into sci-fi -- of the "AI 2027" scenario:

I particularly like how he ends the essay -- pointing out that these sci-fi warnings ("killer/incomprehensible-to-us-mere-humans AI is imminent!") *can* have a salutary effect ...

... i.e. getting us to think about AI risks

but it also has a "criti-hype" problem: By making AGI seem imminent, it justifies massive AI investment

This one was, obviously, bittersweet to write: we’re shutting down app hosting on Glitch. This post covers how everybody can export your apps & download your code. I didn’t get into where the Glitch community goes next, because honestly we’re still figuring it out, but it’s still the end of an era. I’ll have more to share about this later, of course, but I just wanted to make sure everyone got the news straight from me. If you have any questions, you can ask in the forum. blog.glitch.com/post/changes-a…

The new U.S. Army uniform is a near replica of the World War II version. Can the Army meet its recruitment quotas of teen millennials with a throwback image from the Greatest Generation? Bill Whittle thinks the it's brilliant.
