It's not lost on me that it took nearly 5 days and collectively ~30 hours to set up and get my Linux install fully operational.
But it is operational.
The last bit of this was trying to get piracy up and running again. Stellaris just released the Astral Planes update, so that was my test. I downloaded the RUNE and Fitgirl versions, both of which installed and ran correctly off the rip using Lutro.
After that I popped on an USB disc drive, popped in my old total annihilation CD and installed that and got that running.
So everything works. All the games I play worked, and all the media I played worked.
Are there some things that annoy me? Yeah. Gnome apparently doesn't let you create desktop shortcuts unless you resort to command line. That's ridiculous. I also no longer have 20+ years of experience to draw on and am having to relearn basic stuff like "how do I uninstall or undo what I just did when I ran a script from a tutorial I didn't understand".
So for now, I guess I'm along for the ride, and get to relearn how to do everything.
I wouldn't recommend Linux to my dad or any of my friends. They can barely use windows, and I had enough trouble during my setup and install that I know they'd run into an issue eventually that I'd have to solve. Plus they barely learned how to use Windows, and Linux is NOT dumbed down enough for the average user yet.

If not, I've also found Alienware sells their m16 laptop with an RX 7600M XT, which might be a good buy for me (I currently still rock an Alienware 17R1 from 2013 with an MXM card from a decomissioned industrial computer in it).

A crash in the window manager takes down all running applications: Yes, because the compositor IS the server, window manager AND compositor at the same time.
You cannot do a lot of things: What, like allowing Windows to see your keystrokes, which makes developing a keylogger absolutely trivial?
There is not /usr/bin/wayland: Yes, because Wayland is a set of protocols, which a bunch of projects can implement as few or as many of, as they see fit, thus avoiding the issue of "unmaintainable mess" that has plagued Xorg for years.
It offloads work to the window manager: Again, yes, that's a part of its structure: do the protocols, then let the compositor implement them. That way, you have multiple implementations running simultaneously that are well integrated with their window managers and thus more efficient and performant. It also means that when a compositor suffers from too much cruft, we can just make a new one, while application developers wouldn't really have anything to change because if their application works on Wayland, then it works on different compositors (unless it is made specifically for GNOME, or specifically for wlroots, like wlr-randr)
....so what works on DE 1, doesn't necessarily work on DE 2: True, because oftentimes, it doesn't need to. Not implementing features can lead to a more lean and streamlined software solution. However, sometimes features are necessary and only implemented in some compositors. This usually happens because the universal solution is not ready. KDE are often known to do this with Plasma and KWin.
Wayland breaks screen recording applications: Correction: The following screen recording applications were not built to support Wayland (because Wayland is new to them or they just decided not to, or they were either too busy or too irresponsible enough to realise Wayland is coming, and has been for over 10 years. In defence of the devs, they probably wanted to make sure Wayland will become stable enough, but it has been the default even on Debian for many years now, so....
In terms of the applications, I'm not aware of many of them, and for this sort of application, I'm sire alot of work is required to change the graphical backend, so I understood that some smaller projects gave up, but OBS has been working on Wayland for quite a while. Is it perfect? I don't think so, but back when Brodie Robertson was using Hyprland, he was recording his videos using OBS. This article is quite outdated.

Zoom only seemed to work on gnome, BUT if you open up the Link to the zoom issue and read through the comments, there is clearly a person that clearly states that they changed /etc/os-release from PureOS to debian and it worked for them, all because of some pointless limitations enforced by the Zoom developers. As the person posting the issue states "Currently, the zoom application has put an arbirtrary restriction on screensharing so it ONLY works on GNOME, when the api being used works on all wayland desktops." Read that again. It's a pointless restriction put there by the Zoom team because they couldn't be bothered to test anything non-GNOME.
And the last issue is a problem with the article writer's own appimage. I don't know about that one.
Wayland breaks automation software
As stated IN YOUR FACE, it is an application that works on X11 only. Yes, Wayland is not made to use such applications, but it doesn't mean they can't exist. Every heard of ydotool (remember that name)? Now you have.
Next up, we have 3 issues about GNOME and KDE global menus (1 for GNOME, 2 for KDE). From the little I know about global menus and using these projects, as well as considering that they are both incredibly stable on Wayland and Fedora KDE will be dropping Xorg completely, I think it's safe to assume these issues have probably been fixed. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Wayland breaks AppImages that don't ship a special QT plugin: Great! Just ship the plugins then! Problem solved! Also, quote from the article: "However, there is a workaround: "AppImages which ship just the XCB plugin will automatically fallback to running in xwayland mode" (see below)."
Wayland breaks Redshift: Once again, a program built for Xorg doesn't always work on Wayland. Especially if it works with the compositor, like a colour temperature control application, or a wallpaper setter. The article quotes that "Redshift does not support Wayland since it offers no way to adjust the color temperature" which is not true, as proven by Redshift alternatives like Gammastep.
Wayland breaks global hotkeys: I present to you: Hyprland (where you can get global hotkeys). Now, it is normally not allowed by design, as a security measure, but Hyprland has not allowed that to stop them from implementing a solution where you can choose keys that will be passed on to the application. Boom, problem solved. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be implemented anywhere else, as far as I know.
Wayland does not work for XFCE: Come back to me in late 2024 after XFCE 4.20, which will introduce Wayland support, has been released. Also, wiki.xfce.org/releng/wayland_rโฆ
Wayland does not work properly on Nvidia Hardware: It keeps on getting closer but is not there yet, or so I've heard. Apparently, the issue is with the proprietary drivers, as noveau works well. But I use AMD, so I'm only working off rumours and opinions here.
Wayland does not work properly on Intel hardware: Again, I'm using AMD, so I can't confirm or deny this, but considering the Intel drivers are open source, and I've heard about many, many improvements made on the Intel side of things, I think it would be reasonable to assume it has been fixed.
Edit: As multiple Intel users have pointed out in the comments, there seem to be no issues on Wayland with Intel hardware.

Wayland is biased towards Linux and breaks BSD: Arguments seem valid, and I'm guessing, are correct. This one is likely true and will remain so for the foreseeable future.
Edit: And yet, it seems that there are Wayland compositors for FreeBSD, so the above might only be true for OpenBSD and others.
Wayland complicates server side decorations: From what I've heard, this is true, mainly something to do with some GNOME agenda, as the article states. I think that one is true.
Wayland breaks windows raising/activating themselves: The linked issue is closed and seems to be resolved. There is a mention of a WIP protocol at the time (2019) that woukd fix this. I had difficulty following the discussion, but I think this has been fixed.

DEs: GNOME, KDE, MATE, XFCE, Cinnamon, Budgie, Enlightenment, and recently even Pantheon have either announced to start work on, have started work on, or already support Wayland.
Window managers: Qtile is doing it. Xmonad wants to hire a dev to do it. Dwm has a spiritual successor called dwl. i3 has a drop-in replacement called sway. Openbox has 2 spiritual successors called labwc and waybox. Now you might notice one of the biggest WMs is missing on here: AwesomeWM, which is such a shame. The Awesome devs have said they would be okay with someone taking on that challenge (which has already been attempted, as evidenced by the existence of way-cooler), but it seems that they wouldn't do it themselves.
As for the projects mentioned in the article, (JWM, TWM, XDM, IceWM) they are too small and obscure, and will likely fade away with Xorg.

@theshatterstone54 Get no argument from me, another way that Wayland is broken is with an application running on one machine but displaying on another, which was a large part of the original X protocol. Between this and the fact that I'm running Intel graphics for which there exists an in-kernel Xserver, I continue to run Xorg.
I'd like it noted I'm an absolute Linux noob here.
Yesterday I had issues with Nvidia, which was fixed by switching to Pop!OS which worked swimmingly. Fedora failed at this spectacularly, Nobara, their Nvidia specific version, spectacularly so.
I also had issues with mounting a samba share. I have an asus router that's capable of hosting samba shares, but only in v1 of samba which as it turns out is disabled by default in Linux distros these days. Windows too but the fix for that is easier, just install the package. Anyways. I was able to get a temp fix going by enabling guest login and disabling the users server side, which was unsatisfying and only allowed me read access.
After following dozens of tutorials and reinstalling Pop!OS to clear my shenannigans I found a forum that had this listed.

Post that under smb.conf (under workgroup=WORKGROUP... yes it matters) and it disables all versions of samba except for v1, which works for me since this is the only share I care about.
So now, I can log into my samba share, and I have full read write access, yay.
But I still couldn't figure out how to permanently mount this NAS, boo. I found some topics discussing adding a line to fstab to get it to mount on boot. After a few hours of poking I realized cifs was indeed not installed on PopOS! so the tutorial I was following was right, but still wrong.
After that I was at least getting an error, which referred me to mount.cifs(8) - Linux man page, which I'm pretty sure by arriving at that means I'm now a man.
Was the final syntax to get the ball rolling, yes I know I should do a credentials file and link that, get off my back mom.
And finally... my samba v1 file share is mounted within Linux.... and there was much rejoicing, yay.
Anyways half the reason I made this post is so I can search it later if I ever need to do this godforsaken task again, as exactly zero of this was intuitive or easy. In fact, all of this could have been avoided if whoever wrote this decided not to baby me and left V1 protocols intact, despite the security risk. The fact is all these package still have V1 in them, they're just disabled by a really really in depth process, and reenabling them was... a pain in the rear.
I still am having another issue. I have a local external harddrive that's connected via USB. I got that mounted fine through Disk and changing the settings there, which automatically updates fstab for you (thanks to whomever made that user friendly at least). However, steam will NOT point to that drive no matter what I do, chmod 777 is already in play. Weirdly, I was able to manually add it through the steam console commands, but that seemed to start it's own instance of steam, and none of the changes saved, the drive was working great and installed a few games fine, but on reboot or even just closing and reopening steam it's disassociating.
So gotta say, so far, I do NOT love drive management in Linux. I guess shame on me for using something semi-obscure, but Christ. I literally have been working on this all day since I got up at 10am. User friendly this is not.
The goal still is to game on Linux, day 2 has passed and I'm closer to being ready to install games.
Day 3 will be spent figuring out how to get that damn USB drive on steam as a secondary install location.
Any tips would be appreciated. I've chmod 777'd the mounted drive. And I was able to add it via steam console manually, but it didn't save unfortunately and reset everything after I exited steam.

So it was already ext4.
I ended up manually running the steam console as described here. Still wasn't able to use the gui to add a drive but I was able to use the console command to do it manually. Then I restarted to make sure everything was working. On starting steam again it was gone! So I full exited steam and opened console again, and somehow it was there! So I set the option under settings to start on boot thinking that it'd run the console edition again on boot and I could live with that.
Well it turns out somehow there are now 2 steam installs on my computer. I'm not gonna touch it since it's working, but my working theory is somehow running the console created a second steam on my pc. It did act like it was doing a full install the first time I booted on command line. Weird. But like I said it's working now. I may poke at it later and see if I can uninstall the redundant one, but I kinda don't wanna poke it.

Um relacionamento entre um homem e uma mulher tambรฉm pode ser chamado de duรกrico, assim como um relacionamento entre duas pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias pode ser chamado de enebeano.
A necessidade da cunhagem e do uso de duรกrique รฉ a mesma necessidade da cunhagem e do uso de outros termos juvรฉlicos: muitas vezes, hรก a necessidade de falar de um relacionamento ou de uma atraรงรฃo de forma especรญfica, ainda que isso possa nรฃo representar a orientaรงรฃo inteira do(s) indivรญduo(s).
Por exemplo, รฉ comum haverem discussรตes sobre pessoas multi (que sentem atraรงรฃo por mais de um gรชnero) e o que acontece quando estรฃo em relacionamentos duรกricos. Chamar tais relacionamentos de "relacionamentos entre um homem e uma mulher" acaba sendo longo demais pra muitas pessoas, que preferem resumir isso como "relacionamentos hรฉtero". Mas isso por si sรณ traz a conotaรงรฃo de que a orientaรงรฃo que uma pessoa multi tem รฉ definida por sue(s) parceire(s) atual(is), o que รฉ uma forma comum de apagamento.
Da mesma forma, pessoas podem querer palavras para descrever que sรณ sentiram atraรงรฃo por um gรชnero mas que nรฃo sabem se sentem atraรงรฃo por outros gรชneros, ou para descrever a atraรงรฃo de personagens que nรฃo possuem orientaรงรฃo confirmada. E este vocabulรกrio รฉ รบtil mesmo em um contexto onde esta atraรงรฃo pode ser vista como "desinteressante", "normativa" ou "mais privilegiada".
Enfim, duaricismo รฉ uma questรฃo dentro de heterossexismo. Duaricismo inclui ver a atraรงรฃo duรกrica de alguรฉm multi como mais real ou concreta do que outras atraรงรตes. Duaricismo inclui leis que sรณ reconhecem casais formados por um homem e uma mulher. Duaricismo inclui a noรงรฃo de que um beijo entre um homem e uma mulher รฉ sempre mais inocente e romรขntico do que o mesmo beijo entre outras combinaรงรตes entre gรชneros. Pessoalmente, eu nรฃo me importo em usar apenas hรฉtero (ou completamente/somente hรฉtero), porque o que indico com isso รฉ que essas pessoas sรณ podem ser descritas precisamente como hรฉtero, enquanto uma pessoa arromรขntica heterodemissexual (entre outras possibilidades) nรฃo pode descrever precisamente sua orientaรงรฃo apenas como hรฉtero.
Dentro de um sistema alossexista, pessoas que nรฃo sentem atraรงรฃo sรฃo vistas como pessoas que nรฃo sentiram atraรงรฃo ainda, ou como pessoas que estรฃo escondendo algo. Pessoas que sรณ conseguem sentir atraรงรฃo quase imediata de vez em quando ou nunca sรฃo vistas como reprimidas ou excessivamente determinadas a "se guardarem para a pessoa perfeita"; pessoas que nunca conseguem sentir atraรงรฃo quando se trata de pessoas conhecidas/interessadas sรฃo vistas como medrosas ou potencialmente abusivas. E todos estes casos sรฃo frequentemente vistos como questรตes a serem resolvidas.
Existe a questรฃo da falta de atraรงรฃo ser ocasionalmente percebida como a possibilidade de ser gay/lรฉsbica. Algumas pessoas usam isso para indicar que alossexismo nรฃo existe, ou nรฃo estรก dentro da heteronorma; "รฉ sรณ homomisia maldirecionada". Mas a questรฃo de identidades a-espectrais serem percebidas como nรฃo-hรฉtero precisa ser considerada por si sรณ, e nรฃo sรณ porque ela pode estar acompanhada de percepรงรตes limitadas sobre que orientaรงรตes alguรฉm pode ter.
Grupos a-espectrais e hรฉtero podem perpetuar duaricismo. Grupos heterodissidentes e alo podem perpetuar alossexismo. Grupos a-espectrais que nรฃo sรฃo hรฉtero podem sofrer tanto com alossexismo quanto com duaricismo. Mas todos estes grupos sรฃo afetados pela existรชncia do heterossexismo estrutural.
3. Monossexismo
Monossexismo รฉ, dependendo de quem definir, o sistema que prioriza atraรงรฃo por um gรชnero, ou o sistema que coloca gay/lรฉsbica e hรฉtero como os รบnicos, mais importantes ou mais dignos "polos" de atraรงรฃo. Eu deixei monossexismo para depois de alossexismo porque รฉ uma questรฃo que acredito que seja mais complexa, especialmente porque existem questรตes dentro de monossexismo que ainda nรฃo foram nomeadas e que sรฃo pouco discutidas, ainda que sejam importantes. Mesmo assim, acredito que alossexismo seja uma questรฃo dentro do monossexismo.
Mesmo ao citar exemplos bรกsicos de monossexismo contra pessoas multi - que sรฃo geralmente o foco de discussรตes sobre monossexismo - รฉ possรญvel ver que quase tudo nรฃo se aplica necessariamente apenas a pessoas multi. "Ou vocรช gosta de homens ou de mulheres, o resto รฉ frescura", "quem nรฃo รฉ gay nem hรฉtero sรณ nรฃo se decidiu ainda", "todo mundo รฉ meio assim" e "namorar a pessoa certa vai te fazer mudar de ideia" sรฃo expressรตes direcionadas nรฃo sรณ a pessoas multi (sendo que isso nรฃo se reduz apenas a pessoas bi ou pan, e inclui orientaรงรตes flexรญveis), mas tambรฉm a pessoas a-espectrais, de orientaรงรตes fluidas e de orientaรงรตes indefinidas.
Orientaรงรตes fluidas e indefinidas muitas vezes sรฃo colocadas dentro de guarda-chuvas multi (ou atรฉ mesmo a-espectrais), mas vejo muitas pessoas nestes grupos nรฃo se sentirem confortรกveis em se dizerem multi, ou em se dizerem multi em momentos que nรฃo se sentem atraรญdas por mais de um gรชnero. Por isso, acho adequado citar estes grupos separadamente.
Alรฉm disso, com o tempo, fui percebendo que hรก uma lรณgica monossexista repetidamente aplicada a diversas orientaรงรตes, mesmo de pontos de vista "prรณ-bi" ou "prรณ-multi". Refiro-me ao apagamento e ร intolerรขncia contra identidades alรฉm de algumas "aceitรกveis".
Muites conseguem ver que dizer que gay e hรฉtero sรฃo as รบnicas orientaรงรตes รฉ monossexismo. Porรฉm, lรณgica como "sรณ existe atraรงรฃo por homens e por mulheres", "sรณ existem pessoas L/G, hรฉtero, bi ou assexuais" e "identidades multi alรฉm de bi e pan sรฃo inรบteis" acabam sendo extensรตes deste pensamento.
Se os modelos de orientaรงรฃo sรฃo "homem que sรณ se atrai por homens", "mulher que sรณ se atrai por mulheres", "homem que sรณ se atrai por mulheres" e "mulher que sรณ se atrai por homens", รฉ mais fรกcil estender este modelo para "pessoa que sรณ se atrai por homens e mulheres" e "pessoa que nรฃo se atrai por ninguรฉm" do que para "pessoa que geralmente se atrai por homens e ร s vezes por pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias sexualmente que sรณ se atrai por mulheres e pessoas de identidades nรฃo-binรกrias femininas e neutras romanticamente".
ร mais fรกcil ver atraรงรฃo por pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias como impossรญvel a nรฃo ser que seja associada com categorizar estas pessoas como homens ou mulheres internamente; รฉ mais fรกcil ver orientaรงรตes a-espectrais na "รกrea cinza" como desnecessรกrias; รฉ mais fรกcil ver fluidez de atraรงรฃo como algo inexistente; รฉ mais fรกcil julgar negativamente pessoas que nรฃo veem sua orientaรงรฃo como algo definรญvel; รฉ mais fรกcil querer empurrar todas as orientaรงรตes "estranhas" para uma terceira orientaรงรฃo aceitรกvel (geralmente bi), ignorando pessoas poli, toren, trixen, flexรญveis, fluidas, que nรฃo querem ser categorizadas e afins que nรฃo veem tal simplificaรงรฃo como representativa de suas experiรชncias.
Por isso, vejo qualquer esforรงo em "simplificar" e apagar/nรฃo reconhecer identidades alรฉm de um certo "grupo consagrado" como fundamentalmente monossexista, ainda que a retรณrica nรฃo seja exatamente sobre sรณ considerar duas orientaรงรตes vรกlidas. Se existe reducionismo de gรชnero, รฉ possรญvel tambรฉm falar de reducionismo de orientaรงรฃo, ainda que os conceitos nรฃo sejam completamente equivalentes porque reducionistas de orientaรงรฃo nรฃo necessariamente veem qualquer pessoa como "basicamente hรฉtero" ou "basicamente lรฉsbica/gay" (ainda que este tipo de retรณrica tambรฉm exista).
Monoliminaridade e orientaรงรตes mono que nรฃo sรฃo consagradas
O problema de considerar que monossexismo vai contra qualquer orientaรงรฃo que nรฃo seja "atraรงรฃo exclusiva pelo mesmo gรชnero" ou "atraรงรฃo exclusiva de um gรชnero binรกrio pelo outro" รฉ que existem orientaรงรตes que sรฃo mono (no sentido de serem ou poderem ser definidas como atraรงรฃo por um gรชnero), mas que nรฃo se encaixam nestas definiรงรตes.
Sรฃo orientaรงรตes que:
Definem atraรงรฃo exclusiva por um gรชnero, mas que nรฃo determinam quem estรก sentindo atraรงรฃo ou que determinam que quem estรก sentindo atraรงรฃo รฉ uma pessoa nรฃo-binรกria (exemplos: feminamรณrique, home, neu caso "sem gรชnero" conte como "um gรชnero" nestas circunstรขncias);
Definem atraรงรฃo por uma categoria, de forma que รฉ possรญvel alguรฉm sentir atraรงรฃo por apenas um gรชnero e usar o rรณtulo, mesmo que tambรฉm seja possรญvel alguรฉm sentir atraรงรฃo por vรกrios gรชneros e usar o mesmo rรณtulo (exemplos: iteri, cetero, proqua).
Dependendo do caso, pessoas de tais orientaรงรตes podem nรฃo ser afetadas por retรณrica do tipo "ou vocรช se atrai por um gรชnero ou por outro". Uma pessoa feminamรณrica nรฃo vai parecer indecisa em relaรงรฃo a sua atraรงรฃo รบnica por mulheres. Uma pessoa viramรณrica nรฃo vai ter dificuldades em conseguir um relacionamento pelo medo de que a pessoa largue um homem por alguรฉm de outro gรชnero.
Mesmo em casos de pessoas que poderiam se considerar multi que sรณ sentem atraรงรฃo por uma categoria de gรชnero, nรฃo sei o quanto as mesmas suposiรงรตes existentes sobre alguรฉm que sente atraรงรฃo por mรบltiplos gรชneros ("vai trair com outro gรชnero/sentir falta de alguรฉm de outro gรชnero", "deve querer ter sempre mais de uma pessoa na cama", "รฉ indecise sobre por quem se atrai", etc.) sรฃo direcionadas a pessoas que afirmam sรณ sentir atraรงรฃo por pessoas de gรชneros femininos, ou por pessoas xenogรชnero, ou por pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias.
Ainda assim, tais orientaรงรตes sรฃo vistas como supรฉrfluas ("muita gente sente essa atraรงรฃo e se define com rรณtulos que mais pessoas entendem"), inexistentes ("sรณ existe atraรงรฃo por mulheres ou por homens"), especรญficas demais ("sรณ use gay/hรฉtero!") e temporรกrias ("eu tambรฉm achava ser isso, mas eventualmente percebi que sรณ estava me escondendo atrรกs de rรณtulos que ninguรฉm conhece para nรฃo ter que lidar com o estigma de ser bi/lรฉsbica/gay"). E estas opiniรตes sรฃo consideradas monossexistas quando sรฃo direcionadas a quem รฉ multi.
Desta forma, seriam orientaรงรตes como feminamรณrique monodissidentes? Seriam pessoas proquu que sรณ se atraem por pessoas mascugรชnero ou pessoas iteri que sรณ se atraem por maveriques monodissidentes? Eu nรฃo acho que faz muito sentido encaixรก-las nesta definiรงรฃo. Mesmo assim, sรฃo orientaรงรตes que sofrem com retรณrica monossexista, ao menos atรฉ separarem estas questรตes de monossexismo para deixar o conceito sรณ para quem nรฃo tem como classificar a prรณpria orientaรงรฃo como mono.
4. Periorientismo
Periorientismo talvez tambรฉm seja uma cunhagem minha, mas nรฃo tenho certeza. ร o sistema que prioriza pessoas que podem descrever sua orientaรงรฃo de forma precisa sem separรก-la em vรกrios tipos.
Alguรฉm que sรณ diz que รฉ demibi, por ser demibi em qualquer tipo de atraรงรฃo que considere relevante (sexual e romรขntica, na maior parte dos casos), รฉ periorientade. Alguรฉm que รฉ lรฉsbica em sua orientaรงรฃo sexual e oniarromรขntique em sua orientaรงรฃo romรขntica รฉ variorientade.
Existem pessoas que sรณ consideram quem tem orientaรงรฃo sexual e romรขntica diferentes como variorientadas. Pessoalmente, nรฃo vejo porque alguรฉm que รฉ assexual, arromรขntique e poliqueerplatรดnique nรฃo deveria ser considerade variorientade, quando tambรฉm deve enfrentar questionamentos sobre como รฉ possรญvel alguรฉm nรฃo sentir certos tipos de atraรงรฃo mas sentir outros, uma gama menor de relaรงรตes porque a maioria procura alguรฉm que sinta atraรงรฃo sexual e romรขntica e exigรชncias de sรณ categorizar ou priorizar uma de suas orientaรงรตes em detrimento do resto.
Existe tambรฉm a questรฃo de pessoas poderem ser tecnicamente variorientadas mas se colocarem como periorientadas, como pessoas que se dizem assexuais bissexuais por verem o rรณtulo bissexual como importante ainda que sรณ sejam bi em orientaรงรตes alรฉm da sexual, pessoas que se dizem lรฉsbicas multi sem querer categorizar tais orientaรงรตes em tipos diferentes mesmo quando sรฃo tipos diferentes e pessoas que sรฃo multi e/ou a-espectrais que sentem atraรงรฃo em condiรงรตes diferentes e/ou por gรชneros diferentes em tipos diferentes de atraรงรฃo mas que "cobrem" isso usando termos abrangentes. Nรฃo acho uma boa ideia categorizar tais experiรชncias como periorientadas ou variorientadas sem permissรฃo, mas acho que de qualquer forma tais pessoas sรฃo prejudicadas por periorientismo.
O padrรฃo รฉ ser periorientade. Nรฃo รฉ ร toa que vรกrios lugares sรณ colocam orientaรงรฃo como orientaรงรฃo sexual, sem fornecer espaรงo para que pessoas falem de suas orientaรงรตes romรขnticas, alternativas, queerplatรดnicas ou outras que desejarem. Nรฃo รฉ ร toa que se alguรฉm disser que รฉ pan, a suposiรงรฃo geral vai ser que a pessoa รฉ pansexual e panromรขntica, ainda que uma pessoa pan possa ser panalternativa, caligorromรขntica e abrossexual.
Intolerรขncia, apagamento e ausรชncia de informaรงรฃo sobre pessoas variorientadas sรฃo frequentemente considerades questรตes a-espectrais, pelo conceito moderno de variorientaรงรฃo ter sido popularizado em espaรงos assexuais. Embora seja importante considerar periorientismo ao falar sobre questรตes que comunidades a-espectrais enfrentam, tambรฉm รฉ um problema que afeta pessoas variorientadas alo.
A questรฃo alossexista de ver pessoas a-espectrais como incompletas por lhes faltarem atraรงรฃo ร s vezes serve como justificativa para que pessoas periorientistas "aceitem" a existรชncia de pessoas a-espectrais variorientadas (ainda que de forma condicional e restrita, assim como pessoas heterodissidentes em relacionamentos duรกricos tambรฉm sรณ recebem uma certa aceitaรงรฃo condicional e pouco firme de alguns grupos). No entanto, estas pessoas se mostram como periorientistas quando problematizam, criticam, fazem chacota e/ou duvidam de pessoas que sentem atraรงรฃo por mais gรชneros em sua atraรงรฃo sexual ou romรขntica (como pessoas heterossexuais polirromรขnticas ou pansexuais que sรฃo gays em sua orientaรงรฃo romรขntica). A possibilidade e existรชncia de pessoas que sรฃo alo e sentem atraรงรตes diferentes por gรชneros diferentes (como pessoas gays heterorromรขnticas) tambรฉm รฉ frequentemente vista como impossรญvel, ridรญcula e afins, ainda que uma outra pessoa jรก tenha se aberto como tal.
Periorientismo รฉ uma questรฃo que cabe dentro do monossexismo, jรก que qualquer pessoa variorientada nรฃo pode ser completamente mono (assim como qualquer pessoa a-espectral nรฃo pode ser completamente mono, jรก que isso envolve uma atraรงรฃo considerada "completa").
Sรญntese...?
Meu ponto com tudo isso รฉ apontar que a orientaรงรฃo hรฉtero centralizada pela heteronorma nรฃo รฉ apenas formada pela definiรงรฃo de hรฉtero como uma identidade que pode existir em contextos heterodissidentes. Heterossexismo coloca a orientaรงรฃo padrรฃo/ideal/normal como:
Duรกrica (atraรงรฃo de mulheres por homens ou de homens por mulheres);
Definida por atraรงรฃo por apenas um gรชnero (mono, sem fluidez, flexibilidade, dรบvidas ou atraรงรฃo por pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias);
Frequente e constante (alo, sem fluidez);
Periorientada (a pessoa tem que ser hรฉtero em todas as orientaรงรตes utilizadas para formar relacionamentos relevantes para a sociedade normativa);
Bem definida (nรฃo querer declarar fidelidade definitiva ao rรณtulo hรฉtero sรณ รฉ permitido quando รฉ para normalizar a identidade hรฉtero, fora isso รฉ um desvio inadequado);
Uma รบnica orientaรงรฃo, pois as outras nรฃo existem ou nรฃo merecem nomes.
Pessoas que conseguem mais ou menos preencher alguns dos requerimentos podem ser coagidas a fingir que preenchem os outros. Pessoas que nitidamente nรฃo conseguem preencher os requerimentos sรฃo excluidas da sociedade heteronormativa ou de partes dela.
Porรฉm, esta lista sรณ leva em conta hรฉtero como orientaรงรฃo por si sรณ. A questรฃo รฉ que, num contexto eurocรชntrico cristรฃo, mesmo pessoas que preenchem os requerimentos da orientaรงรฃo hรฉtero podem nรฃo ser completamente reconhecidas como tal, por conta de heterossexismo ter sido formado de forma muito interligada com outros sistemas de opressรฃo.
Novamente, nรฃo estou falando que a definiรงรฃo de heterossexismo como o sistema que prejudica pessoas heterodissidentes estรก errada, ou mesmo incompleta. Porรฉm, quando se fala sobre heterossexismo de forma mais abrangente, pode ser importante tambรฉm levar em consideraรงรฃo quando grupos hรฉtero nรฃo sรฃo vistos como tal.
Sexonormatividade
Sexonormatividade รฉ uma palavra geralmente encontrada em contextos assexuais, e que รฉ usada de forma muito similar a alossexismo. Porรฉm, hรก lugares que mencionam que pessoas que nรฃo sรฃo assexuais tambรฉm podem sofrer com sexonormatividade. Assim, acredito que sexonormatividade nรฃo seja somente a priorizaรงรฃo da alossexualidade, mas tambรฉm a ideia geral de que todo mundo precisa querer sexo, e de que todo relacionamento que envolva compromisso precisa envolver sexo.
Assim, pessoas com repulsa a sexo (algo que nรฃo รฉ exclusivo de pessoas assexuais e nem de pessoas heterodissidentes em geral) ou que se recusam a fazer sexo em "circunstรขncias esperadas" podem sofrer consequรชncias por isso, inclusive consequรชncias similares ao alossexismo e ao periorientismo: questionamento de como a pessoa pode ser de tal orientaรงรฃo quando nรฃo quer sexo, pressรฃo para que a pessoa faรงa sexo quando nรฃo quer, acusaรงรตes de que a pessoa precisa ser "consertada", etc.
Nota (17/09/20): @vitorrubiao@colorid.es apontou que sexonormatividade tambรฉm age em relaรงรฃo a levar pessoas a acreditarem que hรก alguma idade onde todo mundo deve jรก ter tido relaรงรตes sexuais, o que pode fazer com que pessoas tenham sua identidade hรฉtero questionada mesmo que nรฃo tenham tido oportunidade ou vontade de ter relaรงรตes sexuais atรฉ aquele momento.
Amatonormatividade
Amatonormatividade รฉ uma palavra que pode ser encontrada em vรกrios textos sobre poliamor ou arromanticidade, mas ele surgiu em um contexto feminista. ร um conceito que descreve o ideal social de alguรฉm achar a pessoa perfeita, se apaixonar, formar um relacionamento e viver "feliz para sempre".
No caso de pessoas arromรขnticas, esse ideal de um dia achar o par romรขntico perfeito รฉ ofensivo e tem uma conotaรงรฃo de "curar a orientaรงรฃo". No caso de pessoas nรฃo-monogรขmicas, a ideia de ter um relacionamento sรณ que seja perfeito รฉ questionada nรฃo sรณ em relaรงรฃo ao nรบmero de pessoas, mas tambรฉm em questรฃo de colocar uma busca por relacionamentos perfeitos como central e como um objetivo de vida. No caso de mulheres, amatonormatividade รฉ um problema por haver aquele ideal de que toda mulher precisa ser uma mรฃe e ter cuidar de uma famรญlia como objetivo de vida, mais cedo e de forma mais forte do que acontece com homens.
Assim como sexonormatividade pode fazer com que pessoas hรฉtero possam ser vistas como heterodissidentes em certas circunstรขncias, amatonormatividade tambรฉm pode pressionar pessoas hรฉtero a buscar relacionamentos romรขnticos quando nรฃo querem eles tanto assim, ou prejudicar pessoas hรฉtero que "ainda" nรฃo formaram laรงos romรขnticos em certa idade.
Cissexismo e diadismo
Ainda que pessoas hรฉtero possam sentir atraรงรฃo por pessoas do outro gรชnero binรกrio independentemente de sua corporalidade, existe a noรงรฃo social de que um homem transando com alguรฉm com um pรชnis รฉ um sinal de que aquele homem sente atraรงรฃo por homens (por exemplo). Tambรฉm existe a noรงรฃo de que pessoas trans e hรฉtero sรฃo "lรฉsbicas/gays que decidiram ser do outro gรชnero binรกrio", ou por considerarem expressรตes de gรชnero fora do padrรฃo como "mais heterodissidentes" ou por verem pessoas trans como obcecadas por "enganar" pessoas cis e hรฉtero ao conseguir fazer "sexo gay/lรฉsbico" com elas.
Isso faz com que, por conta do cissexismo (pessoas cisdissidentes nรฃo sรฃo vistas como pessoas que realmente sรฃo de seu gรชnero), hรก a possibilidade de que pessoas trans hรฉtero e/ou sues parceires hรฉtero sejam vistes como heterodissidentes.
Outra coisa que acontece รฉ um julgamento do quanto uma pessoa trans precisa "passar" (ser vista como cis) e/ou de que cirurgias precisa fazer para que tenha acesso ร identidade hรฉtero, ou para que sues parceires deixem de ser vistes como "queers enrustides".
Com pessoas ipsogรชnero (intersexo, mas que sรฃo do gรชnero atribuรญdo ao nascimento), acredito que funcione de forma um pouco diferente. Nem toda pessoa intersexo รฉ visivelmente intersexo, e muitas pessoas intersexo sรฃo vistas como "perissexo mas com alguma doenรงa/sรญndrome/diferenรงa". Entรฃo, por exemplo, uma mulher ipsogรชnero com cromossomos XY pode nรฃo ser necessariamente reconhecida como uma "ameaรงa" ร orientaรงรฃo hรฉtero de seus parceiros.
Mesmo assim, existem pessoas ipsogรชnero que sรฃo confundidas com pessoas trans por causa de efeitos hormonais (como homens com seios ou mulheres com barba), ou pessoas ipsogรชnero cuja genitรกlia nรฃo รฉ prรณpria para penetraรงรฃo de pรชnis em vagina (por natureza ou por conta de cirurgias incompletas ou que deram errado). Eu nรฃo tenho histรณrias que possam confirmar isso, mas nรฃo duvido que tais pessoas possam passar por exclusรตes da sociedade hรฉtero da mesma forma que pessoas trans.
Expressรตes de gรชnero nรฃo normativas
A ideia de que homens hรฉtero sรฃo desleixados, nรฃo tocam em outros homens e nรฃo usam nada rosa e de que mulheres hรฉtero sรฃo boas cozinheiras, vaidosas e emocionais na verdade nรฃo tem nada a ver com ser hรฉtero: tem a ver com cumprir papรฉis de gรชnero. Porรฉm, como jรก mencionei, isso acabou sendo misturado em uma ideia do que รฉ ser hรฉtero por questรตes histรณricas (de ver gรชnero e orientaรงรฃo como similares).
A pressรฃo social para cumprir papรฉis de gรชnero em cima de pessoas hรฉtero geralmente รฉ mais focada nela mesma do que em questรตes de orientaรงรฃo, mas a aversรฃo ร heterodissidรชncia pode ser usada como combustรญvel para evitar ou atacar quem tiver comportamentos que nรฃo cumprem os papรฉis de gรชnero esperados.
Por exemplo: uma menina รฉ excluรญda das outras na escola por gostar de jogar futebol; um menino รฉ repreendido por querer uma bicicleta rosa; dois irmรฃos se abraรงando em um lugar pรบblico sรฃo atacados por serem confundidos com um par romรขntico; uma adolescente รฉ forรงada a parar de usar calรงas camufladas e camisas retas. Nada disso demonstra ausรชncia de atraรงรฃo duรกrica ou presenรงa de atraรงรฃo pelo mesmo gรชnero ou por pessoas nรฃo-binรกrias, mas as intervenรงรตes provavelmente seriam justificadas de forma heterossexista.
Isso tambรฉm inclui o julgamento de certos fetiches e de certas posiรงรตes sexuais como indicaรงรตes de que alguรฉm nรฃo seria ("totalmente") hรฉtero.
Outras possibilidades

@Joliflower What I'd love to see for pipewire is a working port of pulse-effects. I really miss the capabilities that provided and it will not work with pulse-pipewire, I've tried.
