As with most modular things, the more modules you have, the less "solid" a device feels. That's also the case with the framework 16, which feels less like a solid, one piece device than the 13 inch.

Not that it flexes or anything, because it's still a nice big block of aluminium, with very little bending or flexing, but you definitely feel the keyboard moving a tiny bit, the separator and sliders aren't "locked in place" 100%.

The laptop is also pretty big. The GPU module sticks out of the back, about 1.5 centimeters, and the display has massive bezels on top and at the bottom, so it's 16:10, but it could be 3:2.

I decided to go with Fedora 41, as it was just released and it's the most "vanilla" distro I could think of. And install went without a hitch, apart from the preinstalled Windows on the SSD that I had to set up so I could disable bitlocker.

After that I had nothing to do: every part of that laptop works as advertised, with the dedicated GPU being recognized, and used for the right programs automatically in hybrid graphics mode, the touchpad, audio, ports, everything just works.

In terms of performance, in Geekbench 6, the laptop got 2551 in single core, and 11314 in multi core. As per gaming, I ran a few benchmarks: Horizon Zero dawn, at the native 2560 x1600 resolution, and ultra settings, got 30 PS. At 1440p upscaled with FSR set to quality, on ultra settings, it reached 82 FPS, which is perfect.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider got an average of 72 FPS at the native resolution and ultra settings

In terms of battery life, you get an 85Wh battery in this thing, which, with the display brightness lowered to 50%, on wifi, playing youtube videos in a loop in Firefox, got me around 7h15 minutes. not too bad!

Now, let's talk hardware. The display is 2560 x 1600, up to 165hz, and it's fantastic. It's 16:10, which is fine, with big bezels, around it, which isn't great, but the display itself works really well, with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 100% of DCI-p3, variable refresh rate and freesync if your desktop supports that, and 500 nits of brightness. Great display.

I won't dwell on the webcam and onboard mic, they're bot the usual potato stuff, suitable for video conferencing and not much more**
You do have privacy switches here as well, for the webcam and the mic though, so that's nice.

The keyboard is excellent, the keys have more travel than you'd think, and they feel really nice with a little clicky muted sound that I really enjoy. I didn't expect a hot swappable keyboard to feel that good, but it's one of the best laptop keyboard I've used. really good. You also have the fingerprint reader in the power button, which works perfect on Linux, without any addition stuff to install.

The touchpad, though isn't as nice. The touchpad itself feels super smooth, it's glass, and clicks well, even though it's still a diveboard mechanism, so you can't click from the upper part of it. The issue is that the touchpad module wiggled just tiny bit in place, and you can feel it when moving around, doing gestures, and clicking, and that's not great.

Speakers are solid and won't disappoint, they don't reverberate in the chassis, which must have been tricky to pull off with such a modular ensemble of plates popped on top of the main laptop, and they have a decent amount of bass, really not bad at all. As per the sound the laptop makes under load, well, it is a laptop, so you'll hear the fan when gaming, but it's not the whiniest, highest pitched fan I've heard. Headphones will make that sound disappear, and I never heard the fan when just using the laptop to browse the web or type a script in a notes app.

Virtually everything online now collects data. And this data doesn't just stay at the company that collected it. This data is a giant repository for governments to use and track or monitor their citizens.

See, in a LOT of countries, governments have the right to ask a company to provide all the data they've collected on their users. Companies have no choice but to comply with these, which is also why using end to end, and zero access encrypted services is crucial.

For example, the US can request any company to give them data on a specific user, they've done so more than any other country in 2020. But other countries do the exact same: Germany, Denmark, South korea, France, virtually ever country does this.

If you want even more scary numbers, in 2022, Meta, the parent company for Facebook, Instagram, or Whatsapp, got 827K requests for data. They complied with 76% of these requests.

globalsecuritymag.com/Meta-rec…

There are a lot of legal offensives being planned, or already implemented in various countries, so let's look at a few.

In Russia, recent laws from 2017 banned anonymous use of online messaging apps, and prohibits the use of tools that would circumvent government censorship. This means that while VPNs aren't exactly banned, if they let people access banned websites, then they'll also be banned. This has happened to at least 15 VPNs, including NordVPN, ProtonVPN, and OperaVPN.

hrw.org/news/2017/08/01/russia…

In Australia, in 2021, a law was proposed to force people to attach their real name to their social media posts, apparently to fight online trolls, bullying and harrassment. Users would have had to provide an ID before opening any social media account, which would obviously open the door to surveillance, monitoring, and censorship.

ia.acs.org.au/article/2021/gov…

In France, we have the recent SREN law. This thing would give the telecom watchdog powers to block websites, and require tools for age verification. On top of that, the law will give the government capabilities to demand web browsers and DNS providers block certain websites.

adguard.com/en/blog/france-web…

in the UK, the Online Safety Bill of 2022 allows the regulatory agency Ofcom to force websites to collect people's personal data, and they'll be able to scan, restrict and remove content that is considered harmful. The bill also mandates online communication services to be moderated, which basically means end to end encryption can be enabled there anymore.

datainnovation.org/2022/05/the…

So, what can you do about this? For protecting your data, there are plenty of things you can do. First, stop using privacy invasive operating systems. If you can't move to something like Linux, try at least to disable all the telemetry you can in Windows or macOS, in Android and iOS. You can try using a degoogled, privacy focused Android ROM on your smartphone.

Leaving Chrome for a more private browser is also pretty much mandatory. Same goes for your online services: stop using Google as a search engine, Gmail, or stuff like Outlook, OneDrive, iCloud, and the like. Using a VPN is also a solid option to at least try and blur the lines.

Google has shown that with enough scale, just running ads on a website is enough to keep the content free of charge. But of course, as with everything where money is involved, it went way too far. This limited the ad revenue, and so websites decided to add more ads.

To compound that, ads started paying less and less, so websites started chasing profits by making the internet worse for everyone.

Twitter's revenue is 89% ads. It has existed for more than 10 years, and has never made any money. So even at that scale, ads are just not working to sustain a company.

All the changes Musk is making to Twitter, like firing most of the workforce, charging for the API, limiting the number of tweets, Twitter Blue, it's all to try and turn a profit. So, the experience of Twitter is now ten times worse, because ads don't work.

Now let's look at Reddit. Reddit is about as popular as Twitter. And Reddit isn't profitable either. They're kept afloat by raising money from investors. And so Reddit charges for their API now. Reddit made their site worse for everyone: the regular users, and also everyone browsing the internet and landing on reddit to see a "this subreddit is private" message, making any web search ultra inefficient.

And we can also look at Youtube. Youtube is HUGE. And it's hard to know if youtube is profitable or not. The consensus seems to be that it is, but the actions of youtube seem to indicate that maybe it's not THAT profitable. For example, youtube seems to be planning some moves against adblockers. Youtube is also taking steps against third party frontends, like Invidious. They wouldn't do stuff like that if profit growth was awesome.

I love alternative platforms, but they'll probably never replace the giant ones: they don't offer a business model for people to create content on them.

As a user, you probably don't care about that. And the person running the instance of said platform maybe is ready to fund it out of pocket, but the people creating the content on these platforms? They're not making money from them.

And so as ad-based internet models start dying off, I have a feeling we're going to be faced with 3 options

First, the big platforms survive as-is with the ads, you can still have ads on your own website, but the platforms will start keeping more and more of the ad revenue.

This is where we're heading now. People are tired of ads and their privacy invasion, and the over abundance of them, but platforms seem to think this is the way to go.

Second option, the big platforms and websites evolve to another model, like paywalling everything behind a paid subscriptions like Youtube Premium.

It would basically kill off an entire portion of the internet, but it probably wouldn't be the worst portion to lose.

Third option, the big platforms and the internet as a whole can't find a new model to replace ad based ones, and big platforms and big websites die off. Content creation becomes a hobby mostly.

This is probably the best outcome for the internet as a whole, as it would probably kill off most clickbait, disinformation, AI generated crap. We would have far less things to read and watch, but a lot of if would be higher quality.

What The Future Aggregate Plant Will Look Like: Intelligent Crushing Plants Are Reshaping The Sand And Gravel Industry

As technology continues to transform every corner of the construction and mining sectors, aggregate production is entering a new era. The traditional image of dusty, manually operated stone crushing plants is giving way to streamlined, automated systems that are faster, smarter, and more efficient. Intelligent crushing plants—built around digital integration and data-driven decision-making—are reshaping how we approach productivity, quality control, and sustainability in the sand and gravel industry.

This article explores what future aggregate plants will look like, and how intelligent systems are revolutionizing the performance of the aggregate crusher plant(planta procesadora de agregados) and the stone crusher in modern operations.

The Shift From Manual Operations To Intelligent Systems

Smart Plants Begin With Real-Time Data

The most significant transformation in the future aggregate crusher plant is the integration of real-time data monitoring. Advanced sensors and IoT (Internet of Things) devices are embedded throughout crushers, conveyors, feeders, and screens to collect performance metrics such as vibration, temperature, throughput, and energy consumption.

This constant data stream allows plant operators to:

  • Detect wear and tear before failure
  • Optimize machine settings based on material hardness and feed size
  • Predict maintenance needs
  • Adjust production rates in real time

These features significantly reduce unplanned downtime and ensure that the stone crusher(trituradora de piedra pequeña) operates at peak efficiency.

Artificial Intelligence And Automation In Crushing Operations

Smarter Control Systems Drive Productivity

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is enabling automated decision-making within aggregate plants. Through machine learning algorithms, intelligent systems can identify patterns in material flow and automatically adjust the equipment to maintain consistent output quality and volume.

Some examples include:

  • Auto-calibration of crushing gaps for uniform product size
  • Real-time adjustment of conveyor speeds to prevent overloading
  • Intelligent sorting systems using AI-powered vision sensors
  • Automated dust suppression based on air quality sensors

By minimizing manual intervention, these systems reduce labor costs and errors, leading to a safer and more productive working environment.

Remote Monitoring And Centralized Plant Management

One Operator Can Control The Entire Plant

Another major innovation in future aggregate plants is centralized control. With remote monitoring tools and cloud-based platforms, operators can manage multiple crushing stages and auxiliary systems from a single dashboard—sometimes even off-site.

Benefits of centralized control include:

  • Real-time alerts via mobile devices
  • Instant access to performance reports and maintenance logs
  • Integration with inventory and logistics systems
  • Remote troubleshooting and software updates

This level of connectivity makes the modern stone crusher(trituradora de piedra méxico precio) part of a broader intelligent network, improving operational transparency and response time.

Energy Efficiency And Sustainability Gains

Greener Plants Are Smarter Plants

Energy use is one of the highest operating costs in aggregate production. Intelligent crushing plants are now designed to optimize energy consumption without compromising output.

Energy-saving features may include:

  • Load-sensing motors that only run at required capacity
  • Solar-powered auxiliary systems
  • Smart shutdown protocols when equipment is idle
  • Heat recovery systems for reuse in other parts of the facility

These improvements not only reduce operational expenses but also contribute to a lower carbon footprint, aligning aggregate operations with global sustainability goals.

Integration With Digital Project Management Platforms

From Quarry To Construction Site

Future-ready aggregate plants are not just isolated systems—they are becoming an integrated part of digital construction ecosystems. Data collected from the aggregate crusher plant can be fed into project management platforms to align with downstream processes like batching, transport logistics, and site delivery.

This connectivity enables:

  • Better forecasting of raw material supply
  • Faster adaptation to construction schedule changes
  • Reduced material waste and transportation inefficiencies
  • Synchronized quality control across the supply chain

What This Means For Investors And Contractors

Intelligent Plants Deliver Long-Term Value

For investors and contractors, intelligent crushing plants represent more than a technical upgrade—they offer a competitive advantage. Lower maintenance costs, higher uptime, improved quality, and sustainability compliance make these facilities attractive both economically and operationally.

While the initial investment may be higher, the long-term ROI is often superior due to lower cost per ton, fewer failures, and better integration with future digital construction technologies.

Conclusion

The future of the aggregate crusher plant is intelligent, connected, and sustainable. From AI-powered automation to centralized control and green energy features, smart crushing plants are revolutionizing how the stone crusher operates in the sand and gravel industry. Those who embrace these changes early will not only improve their operational efficiency but also secure a more resilient and profitable business model in the years ahead.

If you ask Jewish Israelis, they'll tell you it's a great democracy. If you ask Arab Israelis, I'm not convinced they'll say the same. you'd have to ask Palestinians living under Israeli jurisdiction what they think of Israeli democracy.
There are 5 legal statuses of Palestinians: 1948 Palestinians, Jerusalem Palestinians, West Bank Palestinians, Gaza Palestinians and Palestinian refugees. 5 different legal statuses. Null status for Gaza and the West Bank, i.e. they have no rights and live alongside people who invade them and have every right. If you call that a democracy, then I don't know what value to attach to the words. Free elections are not enough to be a democracy.

We often tend to believe that free elections make for democracy. Democracy, from the Greek "dêmos" (people) and kratós (power), should give power to the people. This has never been the case.
Those running for office are very wealthy and supported by the bourgeoisie and the billionaire media. In short, a dark masquerade, whether in Israel, France or the USA.

The Pulitzer Prize Board, in refusing to retract the Pulitzer Prizes they awarded to The New York Times and The Washington Post staffs for the fake Russian collusion story, have tainted every Pulitzer Prize they've ever awarded by demonstrating truth and integrity do not matter. Aside from Trump, every person alive who has ever won a Pulitzer should be mad as hell, because their "prestigious" award has been reduced to the level of a participation trophy—in other words, it's now garbage.

List of Fediverse services: fediverse.party/en/miscellaneo…

Fediverse is a contraction of Federated Universe. It's basically a very large network of servers that form, well, a social network. But contrary to the ones you might be used to, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others, the Fediverse is composed of different services.

The more well known are Mastodon, a Twitter-like microblogging service, PeerTube, a youtube-like platform, or PixelFed, an Instagram-like social network, but there are a TON of others.

Each service is also decentralized, which means there is not one big server farm where everything is hosted: each service is split into instances, basically independent servers, with different goals.

ActivityPub is an open standard, that lets all services on the Fediverse talk to each other. How does that work? Well, in practice, it means you can use your Mastodon app to follow a Peertube channel, or someone that posts pictures on PixelFed, or see new articles from a Wordpress website.

And this goes a bit further: for example, if I comment on Mastodon on a post from Peertube, that comment will also appear on Peertube underneath the video.

Let's start with Mastodon. Mastodon is basically Twitter, but open source and decentralized. It lets you post messages with up to 500 characters, it supports images, videos, polls, content warnings, animated avatar pictures, emojis, links, mentions, hashtags, anything you're used to on Twitter. Mastodon has 1.5 million active users, which might seem small compared to Twitter, but it's more than enough to have interesting conversations with a lot of cool people.

To join Mastodon, all you need to do is pick a server, also called an instance. You can pick any server you like, and it will let you interact with everyone else on any other server.

And then, you can use Mastodon on the web, by typing the address of your instance in your browser, for example, for me, it's mastodon.social, or you can use a mobile app.

Now let's talk about PeerTube. It's a Youtube alternative, although it's much, much smaller. Peertube is also decentralized, being split into different servers, that are federated together, so you can follow people from different instances and still have a complete subscription feed. It also supports ActivityPub, which means you could subscribe to my peerTube channel from a mastodon account, and have a post in your timeline every time I publish a video.

And as a creator, it also lets you sync your youtube channel to it, so you can auto-publish all your videos to Peertube in a few clicks, which is also a great help.

To watch peertube, just type the address of your instance in your browser's URL, for me it's tilvids.com.

Another cool service on the Fediverse is PixelFed. It's basically Instagram, without all the crap they tacked on lately, like reels, or lives. It's just pictures and videos. It's free software, it also uses the ActivityPub standard, so you can follow PixelFed users on Mastodon, for example, and it's ad-free.

It also lets you add filters, just like Instagram, or crop, resize, adding alt text, and you can use hashtags, locations, or create collections, basically photo albums.

EFF STATEMENT ON THE JOINT PRESS BRIEFING BY CYRIL RAMAPHOSA AND DONALD TRUMP REGARDING CONDITIONS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND CIC JULIUS MALEMA effonline.org/eff-statement-on…

Britney Spears - 3 (Official HD Video)

"3" by Britney Spears

Lyrics

One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)
Countin'

One, two, one-one-one-one, two, three
Countin', one, two, countin′, one-one, two, three

Babe, pick a night to come out and play
If it′s alright, what do you say?
Merrier the more, triple fun that way
Twister on the floor, what do you say?

Are you in?
Livin' in sin is the new thing, yeah
Are you in?
I am countin′

One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I'm caught in between
Countin′, one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin' down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

Countin′, one, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I'm caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

Three is a charm, two is not the same
I don′t see the harm, so are you game?
Let's make a team, make ′em say my name
Lovin' the extreme, now are you game?

Are you in?
Livin′ in sin is the new thing, yeah
Are you in?
I am countin'

One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin' down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

Countin′, one, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

What we do is innocent
Just for fun and nothin' meant
If you don′t like the company
Let's just do it, you and me
You and me
Or three
Or four, on the floor

One, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin' down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

Countin′, one, two, three, not only you and me
Got 180 degrees, and I′m caught in between
Countin', one, two, three, Peter, Paul, and Mary
Gettin′ down with 3P, everybody loves- (oh)

So, I don't think I'm teaching you anything when I say that Google Search has been getting worse and worse. What Google Search is losing, is accuracy. The pre-made snippets that they display? often don't refer to what you're looking for, they're generally related to, but not exact when searching for specific things. The AI summaries that they want to add? Well, we all know AI isn't exactly reliable, and that you have to fact check literally everything it says, so it doesn't quite save time compared to a regular search.

There's also the fact that consumer reviews are now pretty much garbage, generated by review farms. The fact that SEO "hacking" has made trying to appear in top results a game and an industry, and much like regular hacking, Google can only play catch up, and never really beat the manipulations website engage in.

it's all a mess, and this results in having to type "reddit" at the end of your query to get some actual answers written by some actual people, however dabatable these answers can be, depending on the topic.

So, if you want to fight the AI onslaught that is ruining most searches, there's something you CAN do.
Google started adding AI results to the top of your searches, which pre-digest answers that loosely match your query, often adding some nice little hallucinations and misinformation in there.

So, if you still want to use Google Search because everything else is, in your use case, not as good, you can at lest create a shortcut that removes a bunch of the crap Google adds.

To do so, you need to add a custom search engine, most browsers let you do that. In Firefox and its forks, you can go to sttings, then search, then at the bottom, you can add a search shortcut that uses this URL: google.com/search?udm=14&q=%s

You can also add that to Chromium based browsers by entering another string in the search sttings as well, as a new search engine.
{google:baseURL}/search?udm=14&q=%s

You can make that new engine the default in your settings, and when using that, it will remove all AI results, and default to the "web" tab instead of the "all" tab of Google search, so you only get webpages and not all the extra crap.

The engine I currently use is Duck Duck Go, it's the search engine that at least, in French and english, tends to give me the best results.
It also has a slew of options that let you disable a LOT of stuff you don't want.
DDG has AI built-in, but you can remove that. Ads? You can disable them in the settings.
Don't like the stylesheet and look? You can change that easily enough as well.
You can even disable the "instant answers" that provides pre digested snippets, even if these aren't AI generated.

Another one I used extensively in the past is Ecosia, it also uses Bing quite a lot for their results, but the engine is nice, gives accurate results, and if you have ads turned on, they'll plant trees with the money they get, although how efficient this is depends on who they contract that out to, so not sure if it's a big benefit or not.

If you like the concept of the Fediverse, mastodon, Peertube and the like, you might also like SearXNG. It's a federated metasearch engine, meaning it's decentralized, and hosted by several instances, either private, for your own use and no one else's, or public, where you can access the engine, but you'll need to ensure they don't log stuff, so you kind of have to trust the person or org hosting it.

If you use the Brave browser, you might also know about their search engine, which is an interesting one, because it's a very rare occurrence of an engine with its own Index: they don't depend on Google or Bing for results, they use their own index entirely, including for images and videos.
They do have the AI crap baked in, so that's a drawback, but you can disable that in the engine settings if you don't want it.

@ninja8tyu Given that the healthiest age from a genetic defect standpoint for a woman to have a baby is 16, that is earlier or later and the likelihood that a baby will carry some genetic defect increases, it does not surprise me men are attracted to same. Also consider the fact that for much of history many men died before the age of thirty. We live longer now but our genes are the result of billions of years of evolution not just the last hundred.

I'm familiar with the mainline school book theory, of course. And I vaguely remember reading a biography, or at least account of the voyage, many years back. Even if I remembered it vividly, it was so long ago, that I wouldn't have noticed any "clues" to an undercurrent if there had been any. So I'll prob do some reading on it here and there with time. The trial isn't for quite some time, so I'm in no rush

The big problem with many libertarians is that they think they can implement their policies in any order and cheer even when they get open borders without realizing that having open borders means they will lose any possibility of cutting welfare. "Don't worry, we are working on that problem too!"

That is where the retardation is with many libertarians and the Libertarian party.

shortstories

The problem with Libertarians supporting open borders is if they open the borders to people whose world view is farther away from Libertarianism then the people who come in will support policies in the opposite direction of Libertarianism and they will use violence or thre threat of violence to support such policies

Scott Adams, renowned cartoonist and American neo-nazi, announced he has terminal cancer and, while I know the easy thing is to point out his many failings, I just want to remind everyone, if you can't find something nice to say about a horrible dying piece of shit who used his massive platform to validate the worst people alive and help make the world a materially shittier place, you are welcome to say appropriately bad things about him in my replies.

Why won't somebody ask President Shitler if the real reason for all these #tariff flip-flops is so he and his friends and family can't do a little #InsiderTrading and #MarketManipulation? #USpol #Trump

I gotta say, all this nebulizing hypertonic saline and nasal lavage...feels good. Like my face and airways feel good and kinda energized afterwards.

It's been a total pain in the ass learning how to make a routine around this, especially cleaning. I'm now boiling nebulizer parts after every use and transferring them to a baby bottle sterilizer to dry. I'm still trying different devices and brands; today I got a NeilMed silicone "Squeezie" bottle, which can be boiled unlike standard plastic nasal lavage bottles, and Xclear sinus wash which has xylitol in addition to standard salt.

But I am starting to get the hang of it. And cleaning my respiratory passages with salt solution twice a day...actually nice.

Allegedly all this stuff is good for normal people too, and reduces common respiratory infections like colds. So yeah, I recommend it, although I can't imagine anyone being willing to expend the effort if they don't have a debilitating lung disease.
