Military and militias now shooting at Israel's aircraft passing through in Iraq without permission.
De jure such "passing through" without permission does mean that a state of war exists unless resolved diplomatically, but Israel's planes do this whenever they feel like because Iraq's forces can't fight back because that was USA's obligation and USA is the world's worst, least trustworthy ally ever.

"In wars between nation-states, it is societies, and particularly women and children, that pay the heaviest price. The conflict between Israel and Iran is no exception. [...]

It must be emphasised that this war is not a war for the liberation of societies, especially for women. The demands of the people, particularly women, are not part of Israel's or Iran's agendas. Representatives of nation-states chanting slogans such as 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadî' (Woman, Life, Freedom) cannot herald freedom or promise a beautiful future for society, especially when they lack a genuine understanding of the importance of women's struggles.

KJAR is the "Free Women's Union of Rojhelat", where Rojhelat is the Eastern, Iran-held, part of Kurdistan.
They are one of the three organizations that brought the "Women! Life! Freedom!"-slogan with its antiauthoritarianism and feminism there from whence it spread through all Iran and became the main slogan of the most recent antiauthoritarian uprisings against the theocracy.

The Netanyahu Gang has in several statements and videos falsely associated itself with primarily antiauthoritarian, feminist, antiracist opposition in Iran, which it must be aware of and therefore intended to cause that opposition to be targeted, just as it did during the widespread uprisings a few years ago whereby they directly contributed to getting people sentenced to be murdered by the Iran-theocracy's courts system,
while in actual reality the Israel-regime is also authoritarian, sexist, racist, etc just like their counterpart in Iran.

Criminal president Trump of USA in violation of both international theguardian.com/world/live/202… and domestic (constitutional) law theguardian.com/world/live/202… directly bombed Iran at 02:30 using a dozen B-2 stealth bombers dropping GBU-57 bombs at Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow (where the video of the event reportedly is from).
There was no congressional approval and no casus belli.

This further increases the risk of global hot war for everyone and the risk for every entity in some way associable with USA in particular,
but since primarily USA's Republican party elite have been cheering and literally singing and for war with Iran for decades, they don't care about the constitution they so often claim to have read but instead just cheer theguardian.com/world/live/202… the now very plausible new "forever-war".
At least Bush had fraudulent authorization, at least pretended.

A wave of arrests has been taking place in Iran in recent days. According to the same sources, at least 151 people have been detained on “security” grounds in Eastern [Iran-held part of] Kurdistan and various cities across Iran in the last three days alone.'
anfenglish.com/kurdistan/five-…
This extremely probably is directly related to the governments of Israel and USA's war attacking the government of Iran, as Netanyahu and Gang have been once again striving to baselessly connect the antiauthoritarian feminist antiracist "Women! Life! Freedom!"-movement and related to their authoritarian sexist racist regime, which they must have known would only result in falsely legitimizing further persecution by the Iran-theocracy, as Netanyahu and fellow world "leaders" statements to same effect had that outcome previously too. It therefore seems probable that this is intentional and may be for the purpose of disabling the antiauthoritarian movements from resistance when Israel and USA intend to impose their replacement regime, which is likely the restoration of the Shah.

The incompetence of the US VP JD keeps baffling.
Now claims the State USA is "not at war with Iran – we’re at war with Iran’s nuclear programme" theguardian.com/world/live/202… which is not a thing that is possible.
The definition of when a war between States starts is when the first bullet, other missile (what to do in the case of hostile Internet-packets is still being debated by scholars and other experts) or military force passes the border without invitation from the de jure (or by modernized definitions also other de facto) territory holder.
Unless USA had an invitation from the Iran-theocracy to come bomb, then USA is at war, committed an act of war of aggression, crime against peace, and is as a result at war until diplomatic resolution of one form or another is achieved.

A State can be at war against another State or against some domestic groups with Geneva Conventions compliant armed units.
States can NOT be at war against abstract concepts like "terrorism", "cubism", a "nuclear programme" (doubly so as even its existence is disputed), "gravity" or "the color chartreuse".
It is by the relevant definitions of the words not possible.

Collective statement from Evin Prison, Tehran, in rough translation,
part 1 of 2:
─────
Today, Monday, June 23, 2025, Evin Prison was targeted by an airstrike. As a result of the impact from fighter jets attributed to Israel, parts of the administrative buildings, medical facilities, and the judicial office of the prison were severely damaged and destroyed.

Following this attack, a section of Ward 4 collapsed, windows and glass were shattered, and the interior space of the prison was destabilized. Simultaneously, many prisoners, in fear and seeking to save their lives, took refuge on lower floors, which resulted in injuries to several of them.

The prison's medical facilities have been effectively destroyed, and there are no initial resources available to address the condition of the injured inmates. Despite the deteriorating condition of some of the wounded, prison authorities have refused to transfer them to medical centers outside the prison, effectively leaving them without any care.

Meanwhile, instead of providing aid, security forces and prison guards have heavily secured the prison by deploying extensively in the wards, creating a highly secure environment. Threats, intimidation, and pressure on prisoners have increased, and we are facing double repression.

Note that cases like this will include torture for forced (invalid) "confessions",
as with all uses of torture people will be forced to "confess" to things they have not done just to get the torture to stop,
whereby the regime's forces can use this pretext to get rid of other opposition activists and entirely innocent people,
especially since Israel's war has also resulted in changes for further harshening the "punishment" in cases like these alongside even further removal of safeguards against harming and even murdering the completely innocent.

During Israel's war of aggression in Iran there were many statements issued by the aggressor for the apparent purpose of inciting and granting unjustified pretext for this assault by the Iran-theocracy against the people, by unilaterally falsely associating groups of peoples and movements with the Netanyahu Gang, which they must have understood and therefore intended to have this effect, causing the regime to further crush those striving for freedom, equality, etc.
It is extremely likely that the authoritarian, reactionary, racist, sexist, etc Netanyahu Gang considers it a worst case scenario if the people currently under the Iran-theocracy, a regime with similar ideologies as their own, would through self-liberation achieve a society with equal rights, peaceful coexistence in diversity, secularism, etc as Iran's current regime is an "ideal opponent" so they would only want it replaced with a puppet-regime or someone eternally grateful for being handed power (i.e. e.g. Shah restoration).

Starmer called the Israeli strikes concerning, and called on “all parties to step back and reduce tensions urgently”.

“Now is the time for restraint, calm and a return to diplomacy,” he said.

#Mondoweiss | The Israeli government has effectively legalized the annexation of over 60% of the West Bank, but no one’s talking about it. Here’s what this means for Palestinians.

“When I hear people talking about the risk of annexation, I tell them: this is annexation. It has already begun, and it is advancing.”

“Most of the lands of our town are in Area C,” the Taybeh landowner emphasized. “They have names. They are in our songs, our traditions, memories. Our families lived off these lands for generations, and all of this is being denied.”

Naja nutzt deren Militär ja ohnehin schon ausgiebig.

Here you can see that NOBODY is looking at the evidence. You know that the police, prosecutor, and customs did not answer to the child psychologist or me. Everything is being forwarded to the #CPS. The court refuses to look at the evidence because it is so urgent to forcibly lock me up me in a children's home. So NOBODY is examining the evidence that all of this is lies for which I am supposed to go to the children's home!

Can someone explain to me how it can be an expedited procedure when I have been hunted since February 5, 2024? Since February 5, no one has had the time to review the evidence, even though I was at school on February 5 and not, as the school principal lied, skipping school at home?

Check battery health: upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0

If you watch videos or stream movies and shows from your browser, check that it's actually using your GPU to accelerate that video decoding.

To check that in Firefox, type about:support in the URL bar, then search for "compositing" in the page. If it says "webrender", you're good.

To check if the GPU is used to decode videos, you can also search for "hardware_video_decoding". If it says "default available", you're good.

On Chromium based browsers, to check for that, type chrome://gpu in the URL bar.

On Firefox, to enable that, open the about:config page, then search for media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled. Double click the value to set it to true.

On any chrome based browser, you can just go to the settings, to "system", and toggle "use graphics acceleration when available". Provided your distro has the required packages, you should be good.

And, if you have an older chipset that isn't able to decode all formats using the GPU, like for example VP8 or VP9, you have browser extensions, called enhanced-h264ify for Firefox, or h264ify for Chrome, which will let you set h264 as the default codec on youtube.

One of the most useful tools here will be TLP. It's a command line only tool, but fear not, there's a graphical user interface that's much more user friendly here, called TLP UI.

Once installed, TLP will run automatically in the background after the first reboot. If you open TLP UI after that, you should see that it's enabled, and get access to all the various settings.

TLP documentation: linrunner.de/tlp/usage/index.h…

Now, if your computer has 2 GPUs, an integrated one, and a dedicated one, you might also want to check which one you're using: when using your laptop unplugged, you might want to just use the integrated GPU, and when plugged in, the dedicated GPU.

The easiest way to do so is by staying in hybrid graphics mode. If you have an nvidia GPU, and the proprietary drivers you can just open th Nvidia settings app, and head over to the "prime profiles" tab, and select "Nvidia on demand".

If you really want the best savings though, then you'll need to completely disable the dedicated GPU, either by using "Intel (power saving mode) in the nvidia settings app, or by using the BIOS to set your GPU to integrated only.

And of course, there are the usual basic changes you can make: the usual screen brightness thing, this can save you a ton of battery. The display's refresh rate is also a factor, and variable refresh rate will let you save some battery.

The more recent your hardware is, the better the chances a more recent kernel and drivers will have better hardware support and better performance and battery life.

The incessant push to make us all verify our identities everywhere online makes me so fucking tired. I feel like I'm being pushed towards the digital equivalent of living in a shed in the woods, just to retain some remnant of the free & open internet we were promised.

The problem is not that there's porn out there. The problem is the algorithmic media and ad business force feeding us content we didn't actively seek out. Regulate THAT. politico.eu/article/emmanuel-m…

Internet Blackout in Gaza as Israel Targets Last Fiber Line

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Gaza Strip has plunged into a complete internet and communication blackout after Israeli attacks severed the last remaining fiber-optic line, the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced on Thursday.

The authority confirmed that fixed-line internet and telecommunication services are now entirely cut off across Gaza, including the central and southern regions, which have now joined the digital silence already imposed on Gaza City and the north for the past two days.

“This is the result of systematic attacks on Gaza’s already fragile telecom infrastructure,” the authority said in a statement. Technicians have tried multiple times to repair and reroute damaged lines, but Israeli restrictions have blocked all efforts.

Yes, I'm an annoying online loudmouth. But disapproval/discomfort won't shut me up. Not when we need to keep speaking up for Palestinian people; especially now that Israel has cut off their internet and won't allow the outside world in to provide much needed aid.

My online behaviour spills into offline.

Recently, my opposition to apartheid Israel was recorded in parliament minutes. Along with bizarre defamation spoken under parliamentary privilege.

I've lost work, a prestigious literary award and money for opposing the state of Israel's genocide of Palestinian people.

At least one organisation is currently conducting a risk assessment on me (I don't think they'll cancel my contract, but if they do, that's a price I'm prepared to pay for speaking up).

Since being platformed on literary stages in 2020, I've used the mic to call out apartheid Israel's crimes against humanity.

I have taken risks to speak up, online and offline, and have paid the price. But the price will never be as severe as what Palestinians have been enduring today...for 21 months....77 years. For Palestine to be free, we all need to be willing to pay the price of speaking up/taking action.

There are more of us than them!
