How Do I Prepare My Phone for a Protest?

Shared here for public benefit.

Before going to a protest, demonstrators or observers should note that their cellphones may subject them to surveillance tactics by law enforcement. If your cellphone is on and unsecured, your location can be tracked and your unencrypted communications, such as SMS, may be intercepted. Additionally, police may retrieve your messages and the content of your phone if they take custody of your phone, or later by warrant or subpoena.

Prison Revolt in New Jersey Ends in Four Escapes

On Thursday June 12, 50 prisoners at Delaney Hall, the privately owned ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey, banded together and pushed down the wall of a dormitory room. Four men managed to escape.

Attorney Mustafa Cetin reported: “Based on what he told me it was an outer wall, not very strong, and they were able to push it down.”

Organizations representing some of the detainees reported that Thursday afternoon’s unrest was started by detainees frustrated over inadequate food, missed meal times and other concerns, including boiling water in the pipes and a lack of family visitation.

The four men that escaped are Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez, both of Honduras, and Joan Sebastian Casteneda-Lozada and Andres Pineda-Mogollon, both from Colombia.

Immigration attorney Mustafa Cetin said he spoke Thursday evening to one of his clients detained at Delaney Hall. He said his client told him a group of about 50 detainees protested conditions, like lack of food, and some attacked guards. Some of them pushed down a exterior wall, and escaped to the ground by tying bedsheets together into a rope, he said.

People from the community rushed to the site to show support. On previous evenings, many had gathered outside Delaney Hall for a nightly vigil and were speaking to visiting family members.

>> Based on two eyewitnesses, the people gathered as usual near the aid site in Netzarim. At around 2 AM, four quadcopters hovered above them (a third eyewitness told me he got scared and had to leave).

>> ... Suddenly an Israeli tank got nearer and nearer before opening fire at the people there. Quadcopters also opened fire.

>> It’s reported that dozens were killed and wounded. Some people who were killed are still to be removed from the massacre site.

Sayyed Houthi Underlined Palestinian Resistance Feats against Zionist Enemy in Gaza

Head of Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement Sayyed Abdul Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi indicated on Thursday that the extermination rate among the population in Gaza has reached nearly 9% — an extremely high and unprecedented level in modern warfare.

In a televised speech, Sayyed Houthi maintained that the American enemy is engineering this extermination through starvation, coupled with mass killing via death traps and execution centers.

The “Israeli” enemy is forcing Palestinians to choose between dying of hunger or approaching so-called aid distribution centers to be killed, he noted, adding that targeting those waiting for aid is among the most heinous crimes and worst forms of exploitation.

Sayyed Houthi pointed out the “Israeli” enemy has blocked aid entry through the United Nations for over 100 days to turn its centers into traps of extermination and execution.

“Zionists continue almost daily storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, performing their Talmudic rituals, mocking dances, and expressing hostility toward Islam and Muslims.”

The “Israeli” decision to build 22 new settlements in the West Bank equates to a massive land seizure, he added.

“Practically, building new settlements ends the concept of a “two-state solution” as promoted by the UN and others. The Israeli enemy never intended to implement a two-state solution — it was merely a tactic of deception.”

Sayyed Houthi emphasized that the brave fighters in Gaza continue to confront the “Israeli” enemy with strength and effectiveness, inflicting direct losses, adding that there are precise, successful ambushes, and the enemy’s weekly losses testify to the effectiveness of these operations.

“Al-Qassam Brigades conducted over 16 diverse operations this week, including targeting vehicles and sniping enemy soldiers. The weekly losses of the Israeli enemy are significant, highlighting the resistance’s bravery, steadfastness, and impact.”

All Lebanese should rally further around the Resistance in Lebanon and Hezbollah as the true safeguard against the “Israeli” threat, Sayyed Houthi maintained.

“The support front from Yemen, the land of faith and jihad, continues its military operations in the battle of the Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad, striking deep into occupied Palestine.”

Our operations this week are part of the continuous effort to impose an aerial blockade on the “Israeli” enemy, Sayyed Houthi maintained.

“Our forces aim to achieve this aerial blockade in response to the enemy’s escalation and its genocidal crimes. The naval blockade in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bab Al-Mandeb remains ongoing; navigation for the Israeli enemy is banned, and it has ceased operations in the area of engagement.”

Did you know Africans usually blame white people for the poor state of Africa? And not the people of Africa? They say it is because Africa was colonized.

Here is an African man coming to the realization that its the fault of Africans and not their colonizers, after seeing Singapore, one of the greatest cities in the world and a former colony.

WHY CLOUD BACKUPS WILL BURN YOU
#UNTRACEABLE #privacy

The Hidden Dangers of iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox and What to Use Instead

Cloud backups feel convenient. Set it and forget it. Your files, synced across devices. Your memories safe, easy to get to. Your work recoverable and backed up.

Until it isn’t.

This illusion of safety is exactly how cloud giants trap you. Beneath the glossy UX is a surveillance machine that doesn’t work in your favor. Rely on iCloud, Google Drive, or Dropbox, and sooner or later you will get burned.

#1: YOU DON’T OWN YOUR DATA

Cloud storage isn’t internet magic. It’s just someone else’s computer. That means:

You follow their rules. They can lock you out at any time, no appeal, no warning. One flagged file, one “terms of service” violation, and poof. All your files are gone.
They scan your content. Apple and Google scan photos, documents, and backups. “To detect abuse,” they say. But mission creep is real. From CSAM detection to “misinformation,” your personal data is fair game to build a even better profile of you.
Your data feeds their AI. Google’s updated terms allow it to train AI models on what you store in Drive or Gmail. Even if you opt out, it’s unclear where your data ends and their model begins.
You wouldn’t hand your safety deposit keys to a stranger. Why hand over your digital storage?

#2: ENCRYPTION THEATER

They love to say your data is encrypted. But here’s what they won’t say:

They hold the keys. If they can reset your password, they can unlock your files. That’s not real encryption. That’s encryption for show. I’m looking at you Proton.
Zero-knowledge? Rarely. Dropbox claims “encryption at rest,” but their employees can access your data. iCloud encrypts most content, but not iCloud Mail, metadata, or shared files.
Apple’s Advanced Data Protection? Better, but still opt-in, confusing, and incomplete. And even then, you’re still in Apple’s walled garden. (It got challenged and even the option was removed in the UK)
Encryption only works when you control the keys. Anything else is trust based security. And trust is not a security model.

#3: LEGAL COMPLIANCE ISN’T ON YOUR SIDE

When your data lives in the cloud, it lives under someone else’s jurisdiction.

US CLOUD Act. Government agencies can compel access to your files, even if servers are overseas.
Secret warrants and gag orders. You will never know it happened. They know how to keep secrets from you, just not for you.
Shared folder? Shared exposure. One compromised account in a shared Drive folder can give attackers a pivot point into your files.
And yes, this applies even if you did nothing wrong. Your files are just collateral damage.

#4: FAILURES HAPPEN MORE THAN YOU THINK

Cloud providers fail. Quietly. Often.

Dropbox has lost user data. Not once, but multiple times. Search “Dropbox data loss” and see for yourself.
Google Drive file disappearances. In 2023, a bug deleted months of data for users. Google said: “Don’t sync, wait for an update.” No timeline. No guarantees.
iCloud sync issues. Mac users often find corrupted Notes, missing Contacts, overwritten files with zero recourse.
These are trillion-dollar companies. Keeping your files safe is not their priority, collecting your data is.

SO WHAT’S THE ALTERNATIVE?

Simple: Own your backups. Encrypt everything. Sync on your terms.

Here’s what to use instead:

1. SYNCING: Syncthing
A free, peer-to-peer sync tool. Works across Windows, Linux, Android, macOS. No servers. No cloud. Files stay in your hands. End-to-end encrypted if needed. You control everything.

2. BACKUPS: BorgBackup + rclone
Borg is fast, deduplicated, and encrypted. Pair it with rclone to push backups to external drives, VPS, or S3-compatible storage under your control, encrypted with your keys.

3. ENCRYPTION: Cryptomator or VeraCrypt
Cryptomator wraps files in secure containers, even if you use cloud providers. VeraCrypt works better for entire volumes. Use one or both.

4. REDUNDANCY: 3-2-1 Rule

3 copies
2 different media types
1 offsite (not Google Drive)
Backups are only as good as your recovery plan. Test it. Regularly.

IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE, DO THIS

Stop backing up plaintext to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox.
Encrypt before sync. Always. (try picocrypt it’s a beginner simple GUI and tiny)
Treat cloud providers as hostile. Not because they always are, but because they can be.
FINAL WORD: CONTROL OR CONVENIENCE?

The promise of cloud backups is convenience. But the cost is control.

You’re not paranoid for wanting ownership. You’re not extreme for saying no to surveillance disguised as service. It’s your data.

Cloud backups will burn you. It’s not a question of if, only when.

Own your data. Own your keys. Or lose them both.

Why does acknowledging someone's racial difference or "othering" automatically convey conceit to today's liberal mindset 😏 it's like they're painfully trying to avoid the obvious with their mannerisms. How overly friendly they become showing that it's an obvious defense mechanism because they're nervous on how to handle and interaction with someone they know is "other" but has to physically restrain themselves from acknowledging it because they think utopia can be achieved if you pretend while forcing 2 magnets together that don't wanna stick. They're insane by definition

Impossible problems:

1. The Deep State vs The People
2. Israel vs Gaza and vs Iran
3. Russia/Ukraine
4. Inflated fiat money system
5. Corruption

And so on.

These impossible problems became fixtures in all of our lives. They became assumptions regarding reality because everyone pretty much gave up on fixing them. Impossible (seemingly) problems are the cause and the core of citizen apathy.

"The US quietly delivered hundreds of Hellfire missiles to Israel before its unprecedented attack on Iran on Friday, Middle East Eye can reveal.

The US sent around 300 Hellfire missiles to Israel on Tuesday in a large-scale stock-up of supplies before its attack, and as the Trump administration was saying it was ready to continue engaging Iran in nuclear talks.

The transfer of such a large quantity of Hellfires suggests that the Trump administration was well-informed of Israel’s plans to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran, two US officials told MEE on the condition of anonymity. "

Axios: Two Palestinian men with valid visas had their visas revoked by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at San Francisco International Airport. A Jewish congregation invited them to participate in an interfaith speaking tour, including fundraising for children's programming. The CBP is holding both men and it plans to return them to the Middle East. Their supporters here protested this mistreatment of these visitors. #HumanRights #politics
