Israeli Forces Kill 27 Palestinians in Gaza, Including 11 Waiting for Aid #Palestine qudsnen.co/israeli-forces-kill…

#NoKings #Harleysville is a soft wrap. Hundreds of folks lined up along Main Street (PA Route 63) in Lower Salford Township, Pa. to #protest with signs and bells starting at 3:30. Video on Facebook indicates easily upwards of a thousand people. For reference the township has a population of about 15,000.

Enthusiastic support from local traffic in our red district with honking horns and friendly waves. Only a few scattered folks driving by with one thumb down or one finger up. The passing Cybertruck driver did not look proud.

Lots of friendly faces I’ve seen around and many I met for the first time. Inspired some real #hope in me today that’s been lacking recently.

How can we combine two audio recording inputs (mics) into one audio input source in Manjaro?

My partner and I are running Manjaro and very new to it. Trying to switch as much as possible over to daily use with Manjaro.
We have pipewire, not pulseaudio

We record multiple times a week on OBS, and my partner and I are in the same room. We have two mics side by side both inputs going into my PC. Linux, and therefore OBS, are recognizing the two mic inputs separately as you might expect.

OBS can set up both of these separate inputs, but the issue is we're having significant problems with echo and the noise suppression/noise gates are not sufficient.

This was not an issue on windows, where we used Voicemeeter to combine our inputs into one mic for OBS. I am looking to emulate that on Linux to see if it solves our problems.

We have tried a mic merge sink, but it creates an OUTPUT device, not an input device.

SOLUTION:
QPWGraph was the answer (or something like it, Helvum was also recommended) While it looks intimidating at first you just need to understand it's a series of outputs and inputs and you play mix and match. This allowed us to take the outputs of the mics and connect them directly to a single OBS mic source. This 100% did all that Voicemeeter was doing for us, and the results were also the same.

We do not experience echo, overlap, feedback, or any of the issues we were having by adding the two mics separately in OBS. Our issue was NOT the setup, as some people focused on here. As soon as we got the mics going into that same input, all was good and we successfully ran a recording session 100% in Manjaro.

In the end, this did everything we wanted from Voicemeeter + MORE, as I can now isolate different outputs as well. So for instance in recordings I can manage the volume of discord and the background music separately. So this was an amazing solution and the result was exactly what was needed, and ultimately was much easier than Voicemeeter.

Thank you to those here that recommended it, and the people at the Manjaro forums.

I managed to go to one of the smaller (turned out to be not that small) #NoKings protests in a small town in Texas. I wasn't sure if I would be brave enough to go, so I didn't make a sign, but I did carry a US flag. And so did a LOT of other people.

It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I was still a bit nervous. (I REALLY don't like crowds.) But I found a spot near the end that wasn't too crowded. It was actually fun. I'm so glad I went.

Something about to go down in L.A. Big mobilization of LAPD, including armed mounted units and rolling in of the LRAD (Jessica Palmadessa is streaming from near both). Also hear a police copter but with a crowd this size, it's been around generally anyway.

They are prepared for a battle, so they will probably eventually find one, with the size of the crowd today.

If something sounds too good to be true it probably is. My gut is telling me the laws of physics makes this impossible.

Am I wrong?

I just now saw your original post. Oops.

I think the people that claim any em-dashes have to be the work of AI have never actually used a word processor, let alone have never actually written anything of substance other than a comment on Reddit or a post on 4chan.

Word even will translate "---" into an em-dash. So will other software.

You can easily type an em dash on a Mac keyboard with the Option key.

On Windows I used to use "WinCompose" to easily insert an em dash.

Maybe I'm dating myself here (53) but when I was in high school and learning how to type we were taught there were three common types of dashes.

A "dash" (-). Used for hyphenating words.

An "en dash" (--). Used for a "series":

The 2nd World War occupied the World's consciousness between 1939--1945.

And an "em dash" (---). Used for various typographical purposes.

@gme @BernieDoesIt Yeah, the knowitall I quoted apparently can't tell a hyphen from an en dash, so joke's on them.

I admit em dashes may be stylistically over the top for a 500 character tweet or toot, but they've crept in from my other, longer writing. That's not an apology, just a clarification 🙂

Funnily enough, I find that en and em dashes are more easily available on my (Android) phone keyboard than on physical computer keyboards. Ive had to setup my own shortcuts for them on my laptop.

@gme @BernieDoesIt
Interesting.
In Word, --- on a line by itself is translated to a section separator line going the whole page width.
-- in the middle of a sentence with a letter directly after with no space becomes what I thought was an em-dash. Is it really just an en-dash?
- vs vs
It's hard to tell.
From Word:
Well, dang: it's been an en-dash the whole time.

It was thrilling to see the massive turnout! The majority of drivers who went by were extremely supportive as well. It was a wonderful experience.

Who the hell leaves a priceless, crystal, chair, just sitting out on the floor with not even some rope and stanchions to cordon it off for its protection?

I mean, the tourist is an idiot, but the gallery curators are fucking morons!

In addition to the large number of people marching, holding signs, etc, there were huge numbers of people driving by and honking. The two major dangers out there were sunburn and dehydration. How To Check Disk Health In Linux: A Beginners Guide

hardrive
“Your computer’s disk drive stores all your important files. Photos, documents, videos, and everything lives on your disk. But what happens when your disk starts to fail? You could lose everything. Worry not! Linux has built-in tools to check your disk health. You can spot disk-related problems early and save your data.”

Smartmontools is a package on Linux that provides tools for monitoring and managing the health of storage devices—such as hard drives and SSDs—using the built-in Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) system found in most modern drives.

But other tools are also covered such as badblocks, fsck, and the graphical user interface app GNOME Disks.

Cuba, a developing country with inherited disadvantages from colonialism and neocolonialism, faces unique challenges due to the US-imposed economic blockade.

The blockade significantly limits Cuba's access to financing, technology, and external sources of income.

Cuba's ability to sustain itself and advance social development under such conditions is remarkable, considering the goals and actions of its aggressors.
