A couple of things about these claims circulating that the 2024 election was "rigged":
1. The supposed "proof" is essentially the same nonsensical statistical gobbledygook that the MAGA people were claiming about 2020, with the parties reversed.
2. There is no legal mechanism to "recount" an election after the results are certified. None. The ship has sailed.
3. SHOCKINGLY, they need funds to continue their "work"
4. Nope, not linking to it. Not giving them oxygen.
An important difference between this and the 2020 fraud claims is that here, you don't see the supposedly "defrauded" candidate amplifying the BS. Harris wants no part of this.

- the supposed "smoking guns" indicating fraud in 2024, like those put forward in 2020, aren't really anything.
- elections are ultimately human endeavors, run by fallible people, and small but inconsequential "irregularities" are normal and expected. But it's often very easy to make them seem much more sinister and significant than they are.
- versions of almost everything claimed about 2024 were claimed by the MAGA people in 2020.

it is supposed to help with sleep. If you can reduce or eliminate artificial light sources it is good for keeping your circadian rhythm in line. If you need to have light on, red has the least effect.
Also, on the other side, you are supposed to get natural sunlight as close as you can to when you wake up.

You see a bolt of lightning strike a tree and it happens within 1 millionth of a second. When you get struck, that lasts for several minutes. Sorry, this is going to come across as a newbie rant... mostly because I just switched a few months ago. I'm not completely unfamiliar with Linux. I had to use Unix in college for some projects. I've dual-booted with Windows before. I use a Mac at work. I'm reasonably comfortable in the console, though I'm certainly no expert. I feel like what I'm about to talk about shouldn't be so confusing/unintuitive.
I'm running Kubuntu on an older laptop. I have a burnable DVD disc that may or may not be blank. The disc is old, scratched, and unlabeled, but I would like to see if anything is on it.
I press the eject button on my laptop's disc drive. The tray comes out. I insert the disc and close the tray. The system gets busy trying to read the disc, but eventually stops spinning. Nothing pops up. Dolphin doesn't show my disc drive in the "Devices" panel, or that there's anything in the drive. VLC says it can't read the disc.
Ok, fine. The disc is probably either empty, or it's too scratched to read and needs to be trashed, so I would like to remove it from my system. I push the eject button again, and... nothing happens. It's the same button I used to open the tray to insert the disc, but now it's unresponsive. I open Dolphin and confirm that it doesn't show that I even have a disc drive in the "Devices" panel (presumably because nothing's in it). I open the "Discs and Devices" section in the Notification tray, and the most I can get it to show is my hard drive. It's like my computer doesn't believe the DVD drive exists.
So, what do I have to do? I can open MakeMKV, and it has an Eject button that opens the tray. I'm sure plenty of other software has similar functionality. I can also open the terminal and type "eject", and the tray pops right open. Clearly, my system knows that there's a DVD drive, and it has the ability to open the tray.
Why doesn't the eject button work? Why doesn't Dolphin just always show the DVD drive? Why do I have to google "How to eject a dvd kubuntu"? What am I missing?
Most drives have an emergency eject function built in, totally independent of the operating system. Some work differently than others, but try something along these lines..
Hold the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds
Then tap the eject button multiple times
Usually works for me.
Edit: Most drives also have an emergency eject hole near the eject button, just push a straightened paperclip in when the drive is powered off and it should eject.
I did try holding the eject button for up to 15 seconds when I first noticed this issue, but that was ineffecive. I just tried it again so that I could try tapping the eject button afterward, but it didn't work, either.
I used the paperclip in the past. That works because it's mechanical.
It's been a little hit/miss for me at times as well, I totally feel your frustration when dealing with scratched discs. Still, at least with my drives, spamming the eject button seems to eventually work.

#HappyFathersDay: All fathers face Alpha responsibilities and expectations
What is a man to do when despite his non-Alpha behavioral pattern, he finds himself forced to meet the situational responsibilities and expectations of an Alpha in the context of his family. This is a problem that confronts most family men, because most of us are not Alpha males and yet we inevitably find ourselves in a position of having to act as if we are.
I suggest the words of CS Lewis, as attributed to the fictional of King Lune of Archenland in the book The Horse and His Boy, are some of the most useful ever written in this regard.
And presently, as was certain to happen sooner or later, #KingLune said if was time for young people to be in bed. “And tomorrow, Cor,” he added, “shalt come over all the castle with me and see the estres and mark all its strength and weakness: for it will be thine to guard when I’m gone.”
“But Corin will be the King then, Father,” said Cor.
“Nay, lad,” said King Lune, “thou art my heir. The crown comes to thee.”
“But I don’t want it,” said Cor. “I’d far rather-“
“‘Tis no question what thou wantest, Cor, nor I either. ‘Tis in the course of law.”
“But if we’re twins we must be the same age.”
“Nay,” said the King with a laugh. “One must come first. Art Corin’s elder by full twenty minutes. And his better too, let’s hope, though that’s no great mastery.” And he looked at Corin with a twinkle in his eyes.
“But, Father, couldn’t you make whichever you like to be the next King?”
“No. The king’s under the law, for it’s the law makes him a king. Hast no more power to start away from thy crown than any sentry from his post.”
“Oh dear,” said Cor. “I don’t want to at all. And Corin - I am most dreadfully sorry. I never dreamed my turning up was going to chisel you out of your kingdom.”
“Hurrah! Hurrah!” said Corin. “I shan’t have to be King. I shan’t have to be King. I’ll always be a prince. It’s princes have all the fun.”
“And that’s truer than thy brother knows, Cor,” said King Lune. “For this is what it means to be a king: to be first in every desperate attack and last in every desperate retreat, and when there’s hunger in the land (as must be now and then in bad years) to wear finer clothes and laugh louder over a scantier meal than any man in your land.”
How does this translate into modern paternal terms:
To be first in every desperate attack means going out and finding a way to provide for your wife and your children, regardless of your feelings, fears, and preferences. If you have to dig ditches, you dig ditches. If you have to go without sleep, you go without sleep. You take the risks, knowing that success is neither promised nor guaranteed.
To be last in every desperate retreat means you shield your family and take the hits yourself. You don’t cry, you don’t whine, you don’t lean on your wife, much less your children, for emotional support in carrying the burden.
To wear finer clothes and laugh louder over a scantier meal means you not only conceal your fears from others, but you accept the responsibility to keep up their morale even in difficult situations. Even if things get tight economically, you don’t share that with anyone unless and until it is necessary.
Now, there will be no shortage of men who will argue that this isn’t fair, that they aren’t interested in this sort of self-sacrifice, and that they don’t see why they should care about anyone else’s feelings, fears, and preferences when no one cares about theirs.
And that is why they will never be kings or situational Alphas of any kind, why they will never know the respect and adulation of others, and why they will always be regarded as inferiors by men and women alike. No one gives medals to cowards or smart boys who serve only themselves.
Alphas not only aren’t narcissistic or self-serving as they are often portrayed, they are necessarily empathetic due to the way in which they have to look out for the interests of those who belong to the hierarchy they lead. And the same is true of fathers, no matter how ill-suited we might naturally be toward that other-centric perspective.
Which, of course, is why fathers matter, even in a world - especially in a world - that seeks to denigrate them and minimize their influence.

Sort of like, it's fine to seek the truth, but the truth now isn't going to deliver the promise being made when asking you to donate money to assist in uncovering the truth.
I understand that finding the truth now won't overturn the certified election. But, *IF* there did end up being proof of actual vote manipulation, the individuals that did so could still be held accountable at least right?

- the supposed "smoking guns" indicating fraud in 2024, like those put forward in 2020, aren't really anything.
- elections are ultimately human endeavors, run by fallible people, and small but inconsequential "irregularities" are normal and expected. But it's often very easy to make them seem much more sinister and significant than they are.
- versions of almost everything claimed about 2024 were claimed by the MAGA people in 2020.
