The USA has made it clear that only nuclear armed countries are considered sovereign by the Empire. North Korea is weak in every other way, but is treated as an equal. The long term outcome of that is that every small nation will want nuclear weapons.

Nuclear weapons for small nations is the same argument as gun rights for individuals: it's the only thing that deters a bully. By being a bully, the Empire makes everyone want the only weapon that seems to deter the Empire.

MacOS Preview equivalent

Title mostly says it all. Preview is unironically an incredible piece of software. Between feature set and ease of use, I have yet to come across any FOSS that is comparable. Anyone know of a Linux alternative?

EDIT: Due to popular demand I should explain Preview more. It’s a “fully fledged” PDF editor, but somehow it’s completely different from something like Adobe Acrobat. The way most users will interact with it is as a seemingly very plain image viewer, but if you open a PDF you can add fillable boxes, rearrange pages, split and merge PDFs, etc. I cannot place exactly why it’s workflows feel so much better than something like Acrobat.

hours after the fact, i am still convinced that everyone (except netanyhu i guess?) knows this shit's for shows, the iranians suffered a bruise and said they will seek "legal action".
the only question here is whether or not israel keeps hitting. if they do, iran will keep hitting back and i guess over the last week we learned that israel ain't shit. they can massacre a couple hundred more iranians, but it seems even with 3-4 western navies in the mediterranean helping with missile defense, they're taking too many hits. israel is a speck of a country people. you can't just be losing a couple buildings every night.
and then IF israel hits back we'll see something interesting. whether trump will go in or not. after tonight, i'm genuinely convinced he doesn't *want* to go in. he's willing to put on a show for the neo-cons but he really doesn't *want* to sully his name. he won't *want* to do anything that'll make the iranians hit u.s. assets (except israel bc they started it). it doesn't mean he won't be pressured. but that's what trump signaled tonight.

I'm against getting involved between Israel and Iran just like I was against getting involved between Ukraine and Russia. And of course when you really look at the full history, we were already part of both of these conflicts. And the UNSC had already tried to address both of these brewing conflicts years ago, with us working to make sure those efforts failed. #uspol

Michael Jackson's 14-minute short film "Thriller" revolutionised the music video genre forever. Hailed as the greatest music video of all time by MTV, VH1, Rolling Stone and others, "Thriller," directed by John Landis, is also the only music video selected to be included in the Library of Congress' prestigious National Film Registry.

Michael Jackson's short film for "Thriller" was the third of three short films produced for recordings from Thriller, which continues its reign as the biggest selling album of all time with worldwide sales in excess of 105 million as of June 1, 2016 and in December 2015 became the first ever album to be awarded triple diamond status (i.e.: sales in excess of 30 million) by the RIAA for US sales alone. The "Thriller" single reached No. 1 in four countries in 1984, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart as well as charts in Spain, France and Belgium. The song peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Thriller the first album to feature seven Top 10 singles. The groundbreaking short films for the Thriller album, starting with "Billie Jean," following up with "Beat It" and culminating with the epic, nearly 14-minute "Thriller," truly expanded the possibilities of "music video" as art form. "I wanted something that would glue you to the set, something you'd want to watch over and over," Michael wrote in his 1988 memoir Moonwalk. "I wanted to be a pioneer in this relatively new medium and make the best short music movies we could make."

In the short film's extended prologue, Michael's moonlit date with his girlfriend (played by model Ola Ray) is interrupted by his sudden transformation into a howling werewolf. While the "real" Michael and Ola, observing the scene in a movie theatre, walk home from the their date, Michael teases her by singing the verses of "Thriller."
