Gerade las ich dort einen Artikel, las und las, gefรผhlt schon etliche Minuten, auch weil der Text durchaus anspruchsvoll war, bis plรถtzlich doch noch die Abblende kam mit dem freundlichen Hinweis aufs Probe-Abo. Ich weiรŸ noch nicht so recht, ob ich mich darรผber freuen soll, immerhin so viel lesen zu dรผrfen, oder ob ich mich รคrgern soll, so viel Zeit zu investieren, um am Ende doch nur verarscht zu werden ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hin und wieder linke ich auch mal in Postings auf archive.ph oder so was, wenn ich etwa der Meinung bin, dass bestimmte Bezahlschranken-Artikel zu wichtig fรผr die politische Meinungsbildung sind. @StefanMuenz, es ist natรผrlich legitim, das Publikationen ein Einkommen generieren, aber Paywalls sind meiner Meinung nach nicht der richtige Weg.

Die bessere Lรถsung wรคre die hรคufigen Leser auf ein Abo anzusprechen, was man ja technisch gut bewerkstelligen kรถnnte.
Es erscheinen so viele Artikel in verschiedenen Seiten im Netz, das es fรผr einen Benutzer einfach unzumutbar ist bei jeder ein Abo zu erstellen, wenn er sie nur gelegentlich, einem Link folgend oder zufรคllig benutzt, besonders wenn der Artikel in anderen Seiten frei verfรผgbar ist.

Dann kommen eben diese Paywall blocker ins Spiel, was eigentlich auch nicht so ganz richtig ist, hรถchstens de zuletzt genannte, der auf die originalen Verรถffentlichungen umleitet, sofern sie existieren.

Ich benutze Andisearch, eine Suchmaschine mit KI assistent um direkt Notizen und Artikel in anderen Seiten zu finden, wenn ich auf ein Paywall in einer stosse. Ein Abo bei einer einfachen, oft wichtigen Info, besonders heutzutage in Politik, ist fรผr mich ein No-Go. Dark Pattern sind nicht der richtige Weg

Because the state has seen an exodus of conservative voters over the last 4-6 years to states like FL, TN, and AZ leaving us with a majority lib population. And donโ€™t get me started on the election shenanigans theyโ€™ve been pulling here since 2018. I am actually convinced the DNC used WI as a test market in 2018 for what they did in 2020 to get Biden elected.

I'm of the belief that to be revolutionary, in a personal or institutional sense, one needs to completely walk away from... reject...untenable systems.. not mimick them. But that's just me. I live in an area where it's literally impossible to live a 'normal life' without a car, and as a revolutionary planet saving act haven't owned one for 30 years now. Not everyone can do that, but everyone can do something. Otoh China seems to be literally coercing it citizens into a technocracy

DWEP technical update


Just added #brotli compression to the #DWEP PWA web app. It can compress javascript by 80-90%. So using this significantly reduces the need of minifying #javascript. And if minifying is avoided then the app is more transparent since the user can see the actual code that is being run

This line can be used (for example in a CI file) to create brotli-compressed files: find public -type f -regex '.*\.\(htm\|html\|xml\|txt\|text\|js\|css\|svg\|md\)$' -exec brotli -f -k {} \;
