Here's a simple hack if you have one of those insane old remotes like mine with a million buttons and a tiny mute button that makes cutting the BS at breaks a challenge:

Take a small file (even a nail file would do) and carefully notch the edge of the remote beside where the mute is.

Now you can find it by touch in a moment every time.

You'd think, after FORTY YEARS of doing my own laundry, cleaning my own home, paying my own bills, cooking my food, having owned two successful businesses, and entertained thousands when I was doing theatre and karaoke I'd treat myself better... think MORE of myself... take some satisfaction knowing I've DONE THE ADULT THING and been successful at it.

But there's nothing. There's no BIG payoff at the end. You just keep walking the path, hoping for the pot of gold and the pot is empty and needs to be washed, just like all the others you've washed in your life.

Sure, you take some solace in having loved a few times and continue to gather the unconditional love of your dogs, but I'm bemused at the lack of contentment.

How do you guys find contentment?
What do you do to calm the desperation?

The #NewYorkTimes has published an op-ed by a genocide scholar who says that he resisted acknowledging the truth of what #Israel is doing in #Gaza for as long as he could, but can no longer deny the obvious.

It’s an admission that may as well have come from The New York Times itself.

In an article titled “I’m a Genocide Scholar. I Know It When I See It.”, a Brown University professor of Holocaust and #genocide studies named #OmerBartov argues that “Israel is literally trying to wipe out #Palestinian existence in Gaza,” and denounces his fellow #Holocaust scholars for failing to acknowledge reality.

My god FedEx you really do suck. You send me an e-mail that my package will be delivered today, then 30 minutes ago change the tracking to
"We'll add a delivery date as soon as your package starts moving."

This when I call them up and tell them to return the package, then call the business I made the purchase from and inform them that I don't deal with companies that use FedEx.

Dealt with this BS in NY and it's the same here in TN, obviously company wide problem.
