Just cooked a 1lb boneless ribeye in my new air fryer and used the probe for temp control. Probe beeped at 138, took out the steak, put the mostly baked potato back in while the meat rested and a yummy dinner was had.
I saved the outer part of the ribeye and half of the tater for steak and eggs tomorrow or Tuesday.

I finished reading Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio.

I was kept mildly interested through the book, sometimes dipping beneath bored and sometimes tossed off the surface--airborne momentarily and thrilled--by moving beats. I would say I didn't feel gripped until the last 10%.

I've heard the purple prose* (definition at end if you're not familiar with the term) drones on less and is more effective when used in the second book. It was a problem in this first book. Those moments of some given point, carried too long with a lofty air, make the book a slog or cringe in some chapters. (Note: chapters are 5 to 10 pages in this, which is nice for hit and run reading.)

All in all, I see the potential set up for a grand series. This is just a long set up, mang.

*Purple prose is flowery language that can range from describing even a horror in a way that rings beautiful and cutting (good use) to self-indulgence that reads like begging / tooting that they are the smartest and most initiated redditer (bad use).

Tariffs are a strategic tool. The Trump administration has always been clear about that. Tariffs are designed to level the playing field, incentivize domestic production, counter predatory trade practices – especially from the Chinese Communist Party – and put America First.

Watching Blade Runner (for the first time, for some reason). In the 80s the technological advancement trajectory was such that they really thought in 2019 we'd have flying cars, robots indistinguishable from humans, off-planet mining, and a multiracial America where multiple languages compete over the same territory. Looks like only one of those things came true.

I you want open-source then your best choice is either Shotcut or Kdenlive.

Shotcut is one of the simplest editor I've ever used...but only if you have simple edits to do, the more you wanna do something less simple the worst it gets.

Kdenlive on the other hand is fine to use in most use cases, but can be a bit tricky to understand at first.

So I always suggest Shotctut if you're sure you won't do crazy edits, Kdenlive otherwise, or to just use both if you are unsure.
