is /run shared to the real filesystem after the initrd stage? like what directories are shared to the real filesystem after initrd, or what files. Or is everything just inaccessible in the real filesystem from the initrd phase.
switch_root moves already mounted /proc, /dev, /sys and /run to newroot and makes newroot the new root filesystem and starts init process.
WARNING: switch_root removes recursively all files and directories on the current root filesystem.
If you look at the source code, it uses mount(2) with the MS_MOVE flag to move the /proc, /dev, /sys, /run to the new root, then deletes all the files on the old root fs recursively, then MS_MOVE-mounts the new root over the old one. As the comment in the source code points out:
/* Don't try to unmount the old "/", there's no way to do it. */
This is presumably why it deletes the files on the initrd, because it is a ram disk and the files would be eating up memory if left there.

Brushed my teeph for the first time in a few weeks. Looks like my cavities are completely healed. Had two small ones and don't see them. Also had no pain at all eating the cinnamon roll, I would have 6 months ago. Jamming a chunk of propolis into the crevices in a molar overnight occasionally and carnivore diet did wonders. Can't trust dentists either.
@meowski Nope, just cramming a tiny piece of propolis into a molar before bed. I read a study about a test with dogs where they used propolis to heal their cavities. They were doing an extract and mixing with something to hold it in the cavities. I'm just using the straight bee resin.
i think meat amd other foods can still rot between your teeth without carbs. try flossing then smell the floss after each tooth. that's what i do to tell if i'm flossing often enough
@meowski There is a kid on youtube that is kinda crazy that is carnivore that hasn't brushed his teeth in like 3 years. He says he went to the dentist and asked the dentist to guess when he last brushed, the dentist guessed the same morning.
@meowski Yeah I used to brush twice a day most my life and have like 10 fillings from over the years still. Tempted to pry one out for fun and keep the hole packed with propolis to see if it heals over a year.
i think it's mostly diet and genetics and hygiene of course is important but if you do stuff like drink acidic soda and eat sugar, and your teeth aren't that resistant to decay, it's an uphill battle
@relentless_eduardo That and basically lion diet with cream cheese and honey for a treat. I don't know if the propolis alone would work with a normal diet. Might just really slow things down. My cavities were really smol, like 1 - 0.5mm diameter.
@relentless_eduardo Basically. Beef Salt and water. I do it some days but most days I just eat animal based. I like having a block of cream cheese with honey and vanilla bean paste and cinnamon at least once a day. Kills weight loss but keeps me happy and doesn't rot my teepfth. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing this diet forever since like cures all main causes of death so not trying to lose weight fast.
