I get so angry that we can’t even insist on masking in hospitals.
In some areas, there’s LESS masking in medical settings than pre-COVID. Even modern hospitals with great ventilation can’t stop transmission entirely, with the current COVID viral loads; and neither COVID, flu, nor the common cold is going to improve the recovery of the people in this pre-surgery waiting room.
They have the rest of the world for denial: let us have rationality in medical settings!

in EVERY medical environment, you can request reasonable, safe accommodation, and managers of medical systems(MDs, directors, execs) must make sure their staff put efforts into this.
We have run into this.... in a remote cowtown city's medical systems, and we have fought them and so far we have succeeded. Masking occurred at the vast majority of our visits, we found 100% COVID safe dentists, and we push on this every time we visit.
I don't think a racial taxon is useless. all subgroups of homo sapiens evolved. they are neither good nor bad, simply a fact.

Things a good dad should do for their kids (non-comprehensive list):
-cultivate in them a sense of humor
-teach them how to see through BS
-but also teach them how to respect those who deserve respect
-teach them to be skeptical without being hopelessly cynical
-help them learn to enjoy different types of foods, music, books
-teach them to be aware of their surroundings
-teach them Abraham Lincoln was an evil bastard
-teach them how to behave in public
-give them a work ethic

Both of my parents have been gone for over a decade now, and both were very clear that they didn’t want a grave marker or other “pointless” memorial.
I understand and support their choice, and of course honored their wishes. But it always bothered me a little that I have no place to “visit” to remember them.
I got the idea recently to sponsor benches in parks that we frequented. I think they’d approve.
If you happen by one, take a moment to relax on their behalf.

I own 2 bloated proprietary devices and don't use them for anything important, like banking or dealing with authorities. I also don't trust the manufactures not selling my data.
Id like to have a working device with no bloatware and completely degoogled. Ironically I'd have to buy something made by google to run GrapheneOS on it. Intended use would be to use as a camera, to run CoMaps on it, pkpass files with foss-wallet, reading epubs, making phone calls and running one aurora app.
I don't need the device to play games, watch movies, show off or to play loud music, but I'd like a jack port for my headphones (I assume google headphones would cease to work if I degoogle the device, nor would I want to spend more than necessary enriching that data grabber even more.
Is there a pixel device with a jack port?
Are batteries inside pixel devices glued to the frame or can they be easy to change?
My main OS is debian. How easy is to transfer data from GrapheneOS to debian and the other way round?
Overall if you run GrapheneOS on a pixel, how many years running it and what do you think about it?

Keep running the air filters and check your masks, #TwinCities.
Since I saw some people doing an outdoor sports match today, with no masks in evidence. That was not a good idea.
Sometimes you have to move around a bit to get the angles *just* right, while holding the camera above your head to compose the shot using the rear screen, but the payoff is worth it. This web was almost invisible from any other angle, but from *this* angle it sprang into existence and practically glowed.

And then there’s backlighting. I’m a fiend for it, when the object lets some of the light through and *especially* when it is otherwise surrounded by dark. Inject that chiaroscuro directly into my veins.
